SteamFast SteamMax Heavy-Duty Steam Cleaner

I bought this steamer primarily to clean our kitchen trash compactor, an appliance that gets totally dirty and sticky but is very hard to clean. This steamer is well worth the money and is recommended. It really shoots the steam out and is very powerful. It comes with several attachments, but not one for clothing, but that can be ordered separately from the manufacturer. Previously we owned a garment steamer that cost about $70 but didn't really do the job because the steam just kind of gurgled out. My husband has tried the SteamFast with the window attachment (clean) for his clothing and although it isn't a replacement for pressing dress shirts, it does a decent job and is much better than the previous one we owned. I plan to order the clothing attachment so we can use it properly. I am very happy with the steamer and glad that I bought it but I give it 3 stars for durability. The green scubbing pad attachment probably won't last through too many uses - after the trash compactor cleaning the pad is separating from the base because the steam/water weakens the glue. The hinge of the flip up door on the body where you access the water tank is fairly flimsy and could be a weak point because of the design. Also you get only one floor pad with this set so buy some extra microfiber towels and cut to size to use with the floor attachment. Otherwise the rest of the body, hose and attachments seem great.

This little steamer is small but powerful.It was most helpful in helping to a remove dirty, greasy build-up from a ceramic tub.

This did not work well at all. I could get some dirt out of a tiny crevice ok. I tried it in my shower, microwave, grout. I had to use a cleaning agent in the shower and then it worked, but the cleaning agent worked alone anyway. It did nothing for my microwave or my oven. Did not get the grease off at all. The grout was nominally cleaned. I put my hand within a couple of inches of the cleaning head and it did not burn at all and was just warm. I went by the directions completely. I think the concept is wonderful so maybe the more expensive ones that cost hundreds of dollars actually work.

I love it, I love it! I have used this for everything in the house, I had mildrew in the show grout that I had tried to remove for 2yrs and this thing ate it away!! On my glass fireplace doors, it was so stained I could never get it to look good, I used the steamfast on it and it looks brand new! I tell everyone I know, you gotta try this! I can't imagine anyone not liking this toy!I run out of steam before it does. You gotta try it, you'll love it!

Great Product....love it, it cleans grout on my ceramic tile like a champ. Wish it had a longer cord, love the button that give continuous steam.

This product has been wonderful so far. I have been using it for 2 weeks. I have a house full of tile and this is so much faster than mopping and the value is excellent. You pay a little more than you would for those products that are only made for floors and you get so many more uses, as well as getting double the steaming time with the large capacity canister. It's light weight and easy to operate and doesn't require much storage space. I keep my extra parts in a small plastic trash can. I cut up some old towels to use when I do the floors (they only give you 1) but I am thinking of purchasing the micro fiber floor cloths from one of the other floor cleaners (Sharp or Bissell) if they will fit this machine. I think the microfiber cloths will probably work better than terry towels and they will hold more moisture and dirt. The other feature I have used and LOVE is the squeegee attachment for my bathroom mirrors (can't wait to try it on windows). It cleans mirrors extremely well with no streaking. I keep a towel with me and wipe the blade in between passes. I also use it on my counters and just wipe the excess water with the towel. My sinks are all undermount so I can squeegee most of the water right into the sink and wipe the counter down--it gets them sparkling. I also use the small brush attachment to clean the sink and the drain area. It also works well for build up in faucets too. I noticed some of the reviews mentioned being careful of condensation dripping down the handle and also obviously being careful around the steam when you are using the smaller attachments--you don't have to worry about this at all if you use rubber dish washing gloves--I also wear the gloves when changing the floor towels--works great! This product has made my life so much easier and I am soo happy I purchased it-- I am looking forward to other uses as well.

I was extremely skeptical when I first bought this but I am so very glad I did. It's an incredibly green way to clean as it uses no harsh chemicals-only water and electricity. I've used it everywhere from the bedroom to the bathroom and I am thoroughly pleased with the results. This is not a device for those who are impatient. It does take at least ten minutes to heat up, but once you get it going you have near constant steam to clean with. I say near constant because each attachment uses a different amount of steam based on either the number of outlets (like the squeegee) or size (like the floor attachment).

In the shower I was especially impressed. I have very hard water in my area and it shows in the shower especially on the shower doors. It took some time and patience but my glass doors are shining and scum free now. The mildew that built up in the cracks of my shower are also non-existent with patience and the tub still looks like new after a week of use.

It got stubborn stains off my hard wood floors in the kitchen that other cleaners required me to do a lot more work than the steamfast. My glass desk tops are sparkling clean as well.

The only gripes I have about this unit are:
1. There is no place to keep the various accessories that come with it on the unit, I just keep them all neatly in the fill cup or around the unit when storing.

2. You get a half hour to 25 minutes of constant steam power, but once you run dry you have to wait for the unit to cool down COMPLETELY to refill it. The opening for the water reservoir expands and stays tightly shut (as a safety precaution I'm sure) which makes large jobs inconvenient.

I also would not recommend doing large areas of hardwood floors with this. The floor attachment is not very wide which makes large floor cleaning projects tedious and time consuming. I use the floor attachment on various other things and around the toilet but that's it. When cleaning my hardwood floors I use a Hoover Floor mate.

Cleans grout superficially only, removes loose dust/dirt. Not effective for degreasing kitchen stove. Item returned due to unsatisfactory performance.
