For the money its an o.k. safe. Does its job. You can buy a smaller fireproof firebox to put inside of it for those documents and things you need fireproofed or even have a company that specializes in such things fireproof it for you. Mine came with bolt down screws and holes already drilled in it for floor or wall mounting. I like it a lot. Could be better by having a 4 bolt locking mechanism in it and also by having the bolts fit inside the safe walls itself like sentry safes. After buying a sentry safe and having a very bad experience with them, this was a breathe of fresh air. I'd recommend it!

All the key holders were broke and the door is not tight when locked. It smells like something died
inside. The digital works o.k. Their was rust in some cracks. I have a sentry it's a much better
safe. Buy a better one.

After reading other reviews I was not sure if I should purchase this or not but decided to go ahead as alot of people find problems with their items because they are not smart enough to read the instructions before they use the item. That said, the safe works flawlessly from the key lock to the electronic lock. Very easy to set your code and easy to change it. Product seems to be pretty good quality and with a 5 year guarantee, you can't go wrong.

so far...so good...for now it suiting my needs...easy to program...easy to access...got it stashed away where it can't be seen unless you move a few things around...like the digital over the tumbler models...and definitely the right size for anyone's needs...now, there are no worries about the grandkids getting into things that could hurt them...

Had purchased a secure lock box for medicines and important papers- "box" was good (metal), however the lock handle was plastice and my 6 year old was able to break it and open it after a few minutes (purchased from home improvement store for $80). Decided to get a more secure device and decided on this one. I debated on this one and one that was over $100 more (for fire and water protection- next one will be this for more important files and weapons). Both loked that had the same specs except theo other had more insulation and seals- just as secure. Very happy with this choice- VERY secure!!

When it the safe arrived , i was very surprised on its size , I thought it would be smaller. This was not a problem. The safe was easy to operate no problems .

I bought this safe for my 90-year old mother to keep her jewelry in at her assisted living facility. It replaced a combination safe that was cumbersome for her to get into quickly. The digital touchpad makes it so much more convenient for her, and the carpeted interior makes it perfect for storing her jewelry. The only complaint I have (very minor, not concerning the safe itself) is that there was a large label glued to the front covering the entire door. It took about 45 minutes to remove the label and adhesive glue. First Alert needs to find another way to attach the label to make removal easier.

The big day arrived. Fed Ex delivers the orderd safe for my valuables....I Take the huge box inside home and open it. Uh Oh, the Next box ( First alert Box ), has a huge Dent in it, quickly open box and, there it is...huge dent in top of lovely safe to match. I can live with that but after reading the instructions to place the batteries into the lock box, I find they are already jammed into it, at an angle damaging one of the contacts.
Still awaiting Any response to my snail mail and email, from First Alert. What a shameful tactic, because it is a great safe.

Key entry:
I was a little concerned about the "all access key". This safe has a key that you can stick in the front of the handle to assit you in opening the door if you either forgot the digital combination or the batteries went dead. My concern is...do I now need a safe for my safe key?? Interesting.

Battery compartment:
There is a compartment door on the back side of the main door for access to the battery compartment. This door is easily accessable, but it's a pain to remove and replace. I think that either a latched door or secured with screws would have been a better design.

I spent a great deal of time finding a save that had built in ability to bolt through the bottom and back. I would have had to spend a great deal more for that feature. It was delivered as described. The quality was a little better than anticipated for the price

This product was and is the worst purchase I've bought in years. Here is why I recommend you keep your money..After purchasing this safe and bringing it home I followed the instructions by setting up your key code to secure my belongs..things seem to be going good until the battery indicator informed me that the batteries that I had placed into the safe were no good...so like anyone else would do I went to the store to purchase the size battery this safe requires, well after wrestling with case that holds the batteries I finally the case open, got them in after an hour of my time seems to go by and could not get the cover back on. After the batteries are secure in place the battery indicator informs me that the batteries are no good, " I just bought them"!!! So I get another set...same story! O Im not done. So I take out the batteries and say forget it I will just use the keys and work with what I have. Well come to find out the locks on the inside of the safe do not go all the way into the proper holes to secure this SAFE that claims to be SAFE!. Its just like when you go to open a door, thats how easy it is to get in this safe. Your better off putting all my stuff in a drawer in the kitchen. Do not waste your time or money.

It was here almost before I ordered it. For what I want- a safe to easily get my weapons in an out of and keep away from kids- its perfect. Im a LEO and this is open and closed everytime I leave the house so its getting a heavy duty workout. So far so good
