This evaporative air cooler, humidifier, and fan by Sunpentown is versatile, lightweight and economical way to cool your room up to 12 degrees cooler than the ambient temperature. The cooler easily rolls from room to room for use anywhere in your house or office. The Sunpentown air cooler shoots a stream of air with oscillating louvers, to evenly distribute refreshing cool air. Can also be used as a fan or humidifier if temperature is not an issue. The remote control allows you to easily change settings.

This is a great bang for your buck. I have central air but was looking for something to help keep our upstairs game room a touch cooler in the summer. this will be perfect at a cheaper electric cost then other products. Plus we can use it as a humidifier. The ability to put ice in it when running makes for much cooler air. Another great pruduct found at wal-mart!!!!! Thanks again

This is by far the worst thing you can turn on if you want to cool down a room. When I first bought it, I turned it on, and left the room for about an hour to see how it would cool down the room. Boy, was that a mistake! When I got back into the room, it was hotter than the rest of the house AND I felt like I was living in the South on the most humid day of the year! Horrible experience!! This thing does not cool at all, if anything, it made the room warmer and MUGGY! The fan works ok, but it is really LOUD. I also don't know what the "swing" control does... it didn't seem to do much of anything. The humidifyer/cooler is absolutely ridiculous. Do not buy this thing. Spend an extra $100 and buy a real air conditioner.
Oh, and trying to get the water out of this thing was a disaster! I emptied it out, so I could return it and water got everywhere and leaked all over the whole thing! Not sure if it works after that. Hopefully they don't sell you the one I returned!! This thing is a nightmare.

I purchased this item because I lived in an apartment where you were not allowed to have air and its perfect. I would recomment this to anyone. Its very easy to use and move around if needed.

The Sunpentown evaporative cooler is a great product. I use it at work, as our old building doesn't have any kind of air conditioning. This summer was brutal and I bought the Sunpentown at the end of the season. It was great! One of my co-workers has had one for years and I am glad I finally got my own.

I live in Florida and live in a house with no a/c. I suppose I expected a little more of it than it could produce but at this price, I didn't expect it to break after only 4 months. I bought it in June, it stopped working in the middle of the night. You factor in that it is large but yet, has a very small area that it cools... It's not worth $30.00. The only benefit is that it's quiet. Now that it's broken, it will be very quiet.

We live in very dry Tahoe/Nevada. This unit works really great as a humidifier with timer, etc. We use it every nite, even in the Winter. No more waking up with puffy or dry eyes. We liked it so much we bought 4 more for our local relatives and they all love them. Speaking as an engineer, the "add ice" for cooling feature is not realistic since ice has latent heat of fusion of only 70cal/gm whereas the latent heat of evaporation is 500cal/gm; so, more than 85% of cooling comes from evaporation.

This product requires large amounts of ice in order to blow cool air, not cold air. This product doesn't cool a small room and is only good if you sit directly in front of it. Spend more money and buy an actual air conditioner vs. an air cooler!

This is wonderful at helping to cool my room at night. It is not freezing but it is not way too hot either. It works great since we have no AC and cannot put window units in our house. You have to leave the door open to the room because the humidity makes it really hot if you do not. The ice and water mixed cool the best.

The air cooler makes a great expensive humidifier. Unfortunately it does not work in Michigan because of the high humid days and non humid days. It did not cool down the rooms that I tried it in even though I added the ice. But it did increase the humidity of those rooms.

The part that picks up water that the air passes thru "wick" is way too thin. It needs to be at least a quarter of an inch thick. My bedroom was hotter the next morning after using this product.

This is a wonderful product. It does a great job of keeping a small space cool. With the large water reservoir I do not have to worry about it running out of water during the night. It is relatively quite running. It is also inexpensive to operate. I use it in my bedroom.

This little air cooler with remote control works by endothermic reaction (a reaction that consumes heat), so it sucks air through a wick saturated with water. As the air flows through the wick, some of the water evaporates into the air, consuming the heat that was in the air. The air blown out the front of the unit is so cool that we hardly use our air conditioner this summer. This is not an air conditioner and therefore uses much less energy.

Doesn't perform well at all

I bought this product to cool a small cab over camper. When I tried to use the cooler the speed button and the swing button didn't work. Since I was in a real bind i decided to go ahead and use the cooler. The speed was stuck on high so i figured it would at least keep the camper cool. It didn't work at all. No matter what I did I couldn't even get cool air to blow out of the darn thing. I am not happy with this product at all.

I only used this cooler a few times before it broke, and the warranty service was poor. This item has electronic controls that are very flimsy. Buy a more powerful unit with analog controls.

I loved the relatively light weight, and the unit was handsome and not too much of a drain on the power source in conjuntion with the other appliances in operation within the space. Unfortunately, it was unable to deliver anything like the estimated 12 degree reduction in the room temperature where it was needed. I was fortunate to achieve a three degree reduction, even when using ice in the reservoir. For that reason I returned this product and had to take a more expensive approach to solving my over-heated room problem.
