I read several reviews about this product and the other ones similar to it.Before I decided to go with this one. I choose this one for the Price, size, and a few other reasons!
I have only had it for a short time and it does the job, nothing fancy, just does the job! which is all I could ask for! Good product for the amount!

We read the reviews after we had bought ours. My husband put it together in less than 2 hours, so we thought maybe the others weren't so mechanically inclined and that was part of their problem. We were very positive despite what we read. Well, from the first use the adjustable handles slid down from where we set them, even after my husband tightened them so tight that I could not turn the knob to loosen. By one week of use, just 10-30 minutes a day, we had a very loud squeak that we could not figure out the source of. It got so bad that 2 weeks in, we took it back. We noticed this week when we went back to shop for a new one that they no longer carry any of the image ellipticals at our Wal-mart, so wondering if we weren't the only ones to return it.

My wife uses the machine and tells me it does just what its designed to do. I like the fact that the resistance is made by magnetism rather than fiction like our previous model. I can comment first hand about how this thing goes together. It was very slick. All the bearings were very sound. The coolest thing was how they handled all the little parts. There were about 18 different types. Rather than put them in little plastic bags they put them in what looked like a box of chocholate. It came with a sheet that told you what was in each little compartment. For the price you can't go wrong.

I bought this almost 2 years ago and it's still going strong. It was a little hard to put together. I work out on it 5-6 times a week so it definitely gets a lot of use. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an elliptical but doesn't want to spend a ton of money.

I have been using this machine for about a year now, and have nothing but great things to say about it. Though there is a little bit of squeaking that I could probably get rid of with some wd40, the smooth ride has helped me to lose 30 lbs. The computer is simple, but has all you need, and the magnetic resistance is just as good as my sister's $2000 model. I can't believe that I got a quality machine for so little money. Buy it, you won't be sorry!

* Box looked like it had been drug behind delivery truck rather than riding inside it when it arrived at house. * Took a little over 2 hours to assemble. * Even though handles are adjustable (for different users' heights), still can't quite get them right for me - feel like I have to lean forward more than what is comfortable in order to use them * Machine seems flimsy - when I get up and going full speed, it's rocking back and forth - not to the point of being dangerous but I wonder if I am getting a good workout and if it's causing long term damage to the alignment, etc.

If you can only afford $200 for an elliptical machine....this is perfect! It works great and is a good value for the money spend. It had some creeks and squeeks, but after a little WD40, it is perfectly quiet. This works great for both me and my fitness "freak" husband...very versatile. The resistance goes up to 10!!!! A setting I may one day use, but for now I only use the first 3 levels! A good buy overall

I purchased this product in Jan 08, I'm not new to working out I do 5-6 days per week, on treadmill, step climber, aerobics, pilates/w ball. However I find that on days I use the elliptical my back hurts alot. I have not decided if I will keep it... the other problem is that the arm poles do not stay in place no matter how hard they are tightened!!!!! I wish I could figure out how to fix these 2 problems I do like the workout?????

It took about 2 hours to put together. Nice machine but squeaks very bad. Had it less than a month. Took it back last night with receipt and had no problems what so ever on the return. You get what you pay for - very true!

I was a little disappointed reading some of the reviews. I purchased this elliptical machine because the price was right but I was pleasantly surprised with the features. The instructions were easy to follow, just time consuming. The machine itself works great and has everything you need. I didn't want a gym quality, high priced piece of equipment. This is perfect for me. I use it about 3 times per week and have not had any issues, squeaks or breaks in the welds. I am very satisfied with it and have recommended it to my friends. Hope this helps anyone who is considering buying this elliptical.

After about 6-8 months use of this eliptical, the frame assembly broke completely in half. I have used this product 4 days a week since I purchased it. I only weigh 155lbs, so I know it is not a weight issue. I was very disapointed in this product. After checking on the manufactured warranty, it is only 90 days. If you are going to exercise more than 90 day, buy a different eliptical.

So far It's Been Great

I just purchased this in January and it's been a great machine so far. I had read several reviews that it was hard to put together, but I can say my own experience was quite different. It was as easy, or easier than something you would put together from Ikea. Workouts are very smooth and I really like the 18 inch stride. I've been a runner for years and plan to use this to cut back on some of the miles I run (because of bad knees). So far it seems well worth $199.

We have been very pleased with the elliptical. Never knew I would get such a work out from one machine. Once we got it put together correctly it works like a charm.

The other reviews were very helpful when deciding to purchase this product. Yes, the handles do tend to slip the more it's used, but they are easy to retighten. One part came damaged, not as easy to replace as we had hoped.

I love it! It took about 3 hrs to put it together but other than that its a great machine for the price. I've had it for a week and I've used it every day and so has my husband, we have no complaints. In reference to things breaking down I bought the 2 yr warranty from Walmart for $29 and they said if anything happened they would send someone out to fix it!

I bought this unit two weeks ago. With daily use it was doing great. Yes, a little wobbly, but it is a lower end model. My huge disappointment is that the front T piece has now come unwelded from the frame! It now is completly useless and I have to travel 40 minutes to replace the whole unit. I am hesitant and afraid it will happen again. If you're looking to buy this unit, look into the extended warranty.

Review 39 for Image 8.25 Elliptical Machine
better workout than the gym

At first, i was a little worried about buying this product. However, i wanted to work out in the comfort of my own home, and not pay a fortune. This was a good price. The machine did take a few hours to put together, with the instructions being a little confusing at times. You definitely need two people to put this together.
After my first workout on this machine, i have to say this is a better workout than the machines at the gym. I had a hard time finishing my workout compared to the ones at the gym. This product may NOT last 5 years like an elliptical that was 1000 bucks... but if it lasts even one year.. i think the money was worth it. I would buy this product again.

Review 40 for Image 8.25 Elliptical Machine
not for serious fitness or weight loss

I bought the 8.25 elliptical trainer about 6 weeks ago. It took just over 2 hours to assemble. The directions were reasonably easy to follow. I was able to assemble it by myself, but it would have been significantly easier with someone to assist. I use this machine a minimum of 30 minutes, 5 days a week. The operation and use is nearly silent - for the first 2 days, but then you will have to lubricate the unit every few days to quiet the squeaks. If this unit were more sturdy, it would be perfect. It has a small footprint and is easily movable, but it does not have a good "solid" feel when exercising. I'm right at the 250 pound weight limit and it does not feel solid when in use. Even when my 130 pound daughter uses this unit, it squeaks and does not look "solid". The design of the electronic unit that houses the display is very weak. The plastic housing is held to the trainer frame by 4 screws in the plastic. When I hold the handles to get a heart rate, I can feel the plastic housing flex and it feels like it's going to break. Unfortunately, this is a case of getting what you paid for. If your over 130 pounds and you want to use an elliptical trainer, on a regular basis, for weight loss and fitness, avoid this one. Spend the extra money to get a more durable and solid unit that's designed and built for long-term exercising and use.
