This monitor has been very useful with a wide range of functions to use or not. For instance, you can use only the heart rate and timing features, or go all out and let it design workouts for you. The one problem I have is that it's not clear which zones you're telling it to work you in (ie., fat burning or aerobic). I selected what I thought was fat burning and got some definitely aerobic workouts. Overall, though, I like it. And call me shallow, but I dig the little trophy you get to keep all week for making your targets!
