Regalo - Easy Step Extra Tall Walk-Thru Metal Gate

I bought this gate to try & keep my cats out of our baby's room. It works perfect, my cats haven't gotten into the room yet, it's tall enough that they won't jump over it. The only 2 things I would complain about are the fact that on the bottom of the gate, by the opening, the bars are kind of far apart & a cat can easily fit through there. We just zip tied the extension part to the gate to fix the problem. Also, I'm 9 months pregnant & the opening of the gate is pretty narrow to fit through. Other than that, that gate is perfect!

I bought this product to keep my dog out of the kitchen. it is too tall for her to jump over but she is able to see me. which i think she likes since she sits there and stares at me. I am 5 ft 5 and the gate comes to my rib cage.
I sometimes babysit a 3 and 5 yr old. the gate is as tall as the 3 yr old and he hasnt figured out how to open it. the 5 yr old has.
The only down fall on the product it the width of the gate. We can fit threw fine but if you have to carry something you have to lift it up over the gate.
After seeing this at our home my brother in law is buying on for their 1 yr old to keep her out of harms way. they love coming here and being in the kitchen and knowing while we are cooking the baby is safe in the next room and we can see her.

I ordered the gate to block off a room from our dogs. The gate was tall enough but it took two hands to open which was a problem when carrying a lot of stuff. It was quick and easy to install. We ended up returning the gate for one that only takes one hand to open and self-closes behind us so the dogs don't run in. Overall, I would say it is a good basic gate if used for a non-high traffic area of the house.

I've had three different gates before this one, and this is by far the most sturdy gate. Neither my kids nor my boxer can knock it over, and I really can open it with one hand.

This gate works well. Would be nice if the opening was a bit larger. Opening is not acceptable for caring a baby or anything else with you thru. Other than that perfect for my home.

First of all I think somewhere in the description you should mention how wide the actual opening of the door is. I'm no small girl and trying to get through it with a child in one arm and a bag in the other doesn't work with this gate. Was not impressed at all took it back to the store the next day.

Seems to be a good gate. My daughter hasn't managed to destroy it in the first few days. It was fairly simple to install. The only issue is for stairs. There is no way to install the gate next to a hand railing. I am going to have to modify the bars to make room for the hand rail to fit. Otherwise, seems to be excellent.

One thing wrong about the Walmart.com description is that it says no tools required (ie. pressure mounted). The very first instruction on the manual says you must screw caps into the door frame or not use the product due to safety problems... so Walmart is right that you could TECHNICALLY pressure mount it & leave it be, but the manufacturer specifically forbids one from doing such, as it could pop free. The design itself is poorly thought out. It is well constructed from what I could tell, but the gate portion, ie what you have to fit your body through, is very narrow (about the same size as a clothes hanger). Hold a coat-hanger up to your midsection and see how much room is left to get an idea of the opening size. I myself have a 36'' waist, which I don't feel qualifies me as much larger than average, and it was a tight squeeze for me.

A lot of the reviews stressed carrying babies & items through the gate as being a tight fit: let me clarify... walking through this gate, even empty-handed, without turning sideways is a tough proposition.

Again, seems nicely made, poorly designed. Does have to be mounted semi-permanantly through use of wall cups, and an approx. 20'' opening is much too small to be practical.

I bought two of these for doorways in my house, to keep the dog out of the kids' play area and the kids out of the dogs area. They aren't as tight against the wall as I though but as long as you screw in the top two to the doorway they are really secure. My 10 month old son can shake and pull on them and they don't budge, and my 4 year can easily get in and out of the gate without help. I do wish they were just a 1-2 inches wider, someone who is a bit bigger would have a hard time and have to turn sidways. Overall they were a great buy and should last a liftime, or untill the kids get older and we don't need them.
