This toy mailbox is very cute but a little smaller than expected, even though I did read the dimensions. Otherwise, it serves its purpose and is very durable.

Cute, 12/31/2009

The mailbox was really cute. I would have liked it to be slightly bigger, but overall was really pleased with it. Cute as ever to put stickers in and mail for my 2 and 4 year old. Each morning they get up to see what "mail" the mailman brought. Cute toy...

Review 3 for Step2 MailMaster Junior Mailbox

Cute & functional, 12/26/2009
By A22Lee, Kingston, WA
Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 4 out of 5

Overall, we're pleased with the mailbox. My son is 2 and received this for Xmas with a letter from Santa. Product is smaller/shorter than I expected, but perfectly child sized. We live in a rainy area, so this is going to be an indoor toy for my little guy. He loves getting mail and putting things (that don't belong) in the mailbox. I thought it might be a cute idea so that he and my husband could exchange notes on a daily basis since my husband leaves for work early in the morning and they don't see each other until later in the day. My husband could leave a note in the morning and my son can leave a note/colored picture for Daddy during the day. My biggest complaint is the name label on the side...you write it on clear sticky plastic with a permanent marker, so no letters are included and will not look perfect like the picture. I would recommend buying those alphabet stickers to spell out your child's name instead if you want to personalize, then, maybe cover the stickers with the sticky plastic included (especially for outdoor use). Also, only small envelopes fit into the box, because it's not deep enough for the longer ones if you want to shut the door. Not that big of a deal. Also, it's not heavy, so my son carries it everywhere. Not a problem for me inside, but I couldn't image that it would stay upright on a windy day outside, even though the base is really wide. Maybe it could use some weight like a little sand bag in the base or something. Plastic itself is pretty thick, so it looks really durable.

Review 4 for Step2 MailMaster Junior Mailbox

Good for outdoor use, 10/21/2009
By TCUPomMom, Weatherford, TX
Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 4 out of 5

This mailbox is very small....you cannot fit a regular sized envelope inside of it. I gave it 4 stars because it sits on our back porch and gets rained on, etc and it is still in good shape. My daughter also scribbles all over with her chalk and it wipes clean easily.

Very Light Weight, 09/23/2009
By MamaDancer, Paris, KY
Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 4 out of 5

I think this mailbox is adorable next to my daughter's Neat & Tidy cottage, however, it is very easy to knock over. Even a strong wind can knock it over. I wish we could fill up the bottom with sand or something to make it a little sturdier. There is a plug-looking thing on the bottom of the mailbox, but we couldn't figure out if it opens or not.

fine, but not great, 09/01/2009
By SatisfiedParent2, Mitchell, SD

It is overall fairly cheap, and I would recommend spending a little more money on a different brand of mailbox. I am pretty sure the door will break soon, because it is thin and bendable.

Only drawback is you have to watch your own mail as the little ones mimic adults and put anything in the mailbox. But they love to get mail.

small mailbox, 05/29/2009
By shopper8832
Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 3 out of 5

This mailbox is very cute; however, it is VERY small. Don't let the picture trick you. I was disappointed in how small it was for being 20 dollars. But, like I said, it is cute. Oh, and you have to write the letter on with a magic marker. It doesn't come with the letters. :(

My three year old daughter picked this mailbox out at the store. She likes playing with it. I wish it would've had individual letters to make a name instead of one blank sticker. We just didn't use the name sticker.

a bit small, 05/09/2009
By JulianMommy
Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 4 out of 5

My son loves the mailbox, but the "box" part is a little too small for any real mail he gets, which is how I'd been hoping to use it. Cards needs to be folded or bent and no magazines or letters will fit. He still enjoys putting Legos and other small toys in it to discover, however.

Kids love it!!, 03/05/2009
By PulaskiMother, Pulaski, WI
Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 4 out of 5

This mailbox was a great addition to our play area! It's the perfect height to use with our cozy coupe car. Our kids love to play mailcarrier & this is the only plastic mailbox that I could find at an affordable price that looks like a real malibox - has working door & flag. It's very sturdy & fun for toddlers & preschoolers to play with. I would have given it 5 stars, except I wish the inside would be a little larger (3.5"w x 4"h x 5.5"d). It's pretty small so most things we stick inside either have to be folded, the door left open, or we do what the post office does & leave a card in it that says they have a package that needs to be picked up from the post office. Other than that, it's a great toy!!

Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

My daughter got this for her 2nd birthday and loves it. She likes to put different toys in it and come back later to take them out while talking about what she needs to get out of the mailbox. I plan to put little notes and such in there for holidays like Valentines and Easter, etc. to continue to make it a place to keep special things.

My son loves when check the mail before we head out. He's always wanting to check our neighbor's mail as well. When my husband and I seen this child-sized mailbox, we knew that he would love it! He pretends that he's checking the mail all of the time now and stuffs all sorts of things in the slot provided. Actual mail compartment is a tad smaller than expected; but overall great product.

Too Small, 10/29/2008
By TheShopperMom, Boston, MA
Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 3 out of 5

I was very disappointed with the mailbox because the compartment for the mail is VERY small. It is too small for a normal card or envelope. Various family members would like to send my 3 year old subscriptions to magazines or holiday cards and I would like to put them in the mailbox for my 3 year old - but this product is much too small for this.
