Bought this for my husband's truck (18-wheeler) Works great. Has lots of room for food and he doesn't have to worry about ice anymore. Very quite. Hardly know it's running. The adjustable shelf is nice too.

I bought this unit for my son who is an over the road truck driver. He is a previous owner of one of these "freezers" and he swears by them (his last one lasted 5 years. They are cheaper to replace than repair. I hve not heard anything negative about this one so I'm assuming this one is working as it should. It is larger than I thought it would be.

The online status isn't correct. Says they are avalible in Hannibal, Mo and when we got there there were none. Associate said that they don't have them and wouldn't until a much later date. If I could have gotten ahold of some one there it would have saved us 50 miles and 1/2 of a day trip. I am very disapointed in wal-mart.

After reading all the reviews from truck drivers on here I decided to buy my husband one of these since he too is a truck driver. Anything to help save a buck. Well it didnt. It didnt even keep the already cold drinks cool. So we thought we might have gotten a bad one and took it back to exchange it, and the new one did the same thing. Its fall, so if it cant cool anything off inside a truck with the ac on now, I couldnt even imagine it being able to hold up in the Texas heat next summer.

It exactly what I wanted. I pluged it in and it gets moderately cool but I did have to allow it defrost because the fan was making noise. But after the defrost it still works

Im an over the road truck driver and thought it might be easier and cheaper to order this product online and pick it up from my local store when I was back in town. when I picked it up I noticed that it was $11 cheaper on the stores shelves so I had to return it and then buy it from the actual store. it was a hassle but the product has been working well so far. it just hardly fits in front of my passenger seat but has been keeping all my items cold for a few days now. it doesn't use much electricity and hardly makes any noise. ive only had it a few days but the product is great so far. save time and effort tho and check the price in the store first.

this cooler does great as long as you adjust and replace the fans!! i drive a big truck and this cooler is not a refrigerator.this will be my 2nd in 7 YRS!! everything that you buy has to be put in ziplock freezer bags to keep the moisture from getting out. fruits..all vegetables ,even allready wraped meats and containers ...it will last with out freezing up the core..and replace out fan with radio shack 5 inch fan and replace inside fan with bigger fan ..it will last longer than the core will ..im on my 2nd cooler and the original fans that ive bought from radio shack...its also keeps it cooler than the original fans do..cover will not fit on again /but trade to keep food longer and colder

we bought this hoping it would work, and it did. We used it over a 5 day trip to GCNP and it kept frozen food frozen over two days and everything very cold for all 5. And, it wasn't plugged in at night! It does a great job, is very versatile, and is highly recommended by me

This was a wonderful product to add to our camping trip. We hate putting cheese in a cooler with ice. It gets all nasty no matter what you do. This kept our food just as cold as the fridge at home. I love the fact that it plugs into an outlet, and to your cars adapter. Such a great value.

Coleman Power Chill 40 Qt Cooler plug defective
,
08/02/2011

Bought this Coleman Power Chill 40 Qt. Cooler. The house power cord that connected to the cigarette lighter plug wasn't made correctly. Connected the two cords and plugged into wall outlet and every time the cord was moved or bumped the connection was lost. The connection between the two was very loose and would not snap in as the previous ones did. Exchanged it for another one and the same problem. Power connection is very loose and you will lose items you are trying to keep cool. It is probably fine if you don't use the electrical cord and plug it straight into your cigarette lighter. After two being the same, I got a refund.

In my opinion this item rates poorly. The electric plug get excesively hot when connected, while the inside remains at room temp even after one hour being connected. I would rather obtain a small fridge or a regular cooler. Nice concept though, but does not work well.

No More Messy Melted Ice!

This unit is perfect for picnics, road trips, camping, and even keeping food cold while running to multiple grocery stores on Saturdays. It's your typical large cooler and has plenty of room. No exterior handles though. Mine reached 33 degrees (measured at the far end of the closed cooler) in three hours. Of course you can't pack it like a suitcase and expect the temperature to be evenly distributed. You must leave some room between items for the cold to equalize. I think it's a plus to be able to use it either standing up or laying down, however, using it laying flat will keep the cold in better. There's no issue with a compressor or refrigerant leaks. It has two fans, both interior and exterior. They appear to be the same kind of fan as in a desktop computer, so it's whisper quiet. It is no substitute for a small conventional refrigerator, so don't try to use it as one in a dorm room. My only complaint is that it's much more pricey than need be. Seriously should not be more than $65. It's well built (made in USA) and should easily last for years. There is no drain plug because there's no messy ice melting and taking up storage room! I'm happy with this purchase.

Great brand, great cooler.

I am a truck driver and I owned this cooler for over 5 years. I don't understand why people are complaining about having to return theirs. There is a small square fan that blows air over a heat sink and since a fan is a moving part, it will wear out. I went to Best Buy (since you can't seem to find the original fan online) and bought a high quality computer case fan for about $7, and I wired it in. Even though the fan was a little smaller than the original, it worked even better that before and lasted another 3 years after I did the repair.
I sold the cooler when I stopped driving, and now I plan to buy another cooler, same brand, same model. I don't think one $7 fan in 5 years is that bad, since it was running about 6 days a week and at least 20 hours a day. I would recommend this cooler to anyone. It kept my food and drinks ice cold, and there is plenty of room inside.

We bought this last summer and it is still working just fine. We purchased this for a trip to Orlando last summer. We used it in the car down there and back & in our hotel room. It ran non stop for almost 2 weeks. We also camp and travel to visit family 12 hours away and use this every time we go. The feature I enjoy most is the handles on the side to carry it like a cooler. Then we just stand it upright (of course adjusting the items on the inside). We mostly store drinks, fruits, sandwiches and yogurt inthe cooler.
