Panasonic 1-Line Corded Speakerphone with Caller ID - KX-TS600B

Looked a long time before I purchased this phone to replace my husband's old one. I know the quality of Panasonic products which helped my decision. It has all the features I was looking for. I purchased it for Christmas; and, so far, I am not disappointed.

I specifically purchased this because it had a headset option. As long as I use the handset it fine. But for some reason it will not disconnect the call immediately when I hang up. I use this a home business line and its a bit embarassing.

I have only had this phone a few weeks, but so far so good. Ringer is loud and clear - caller ID is big and readable at a distance - all functions work fine.

purchased this phone for my parents, they need the phone directory memory , since their memory is not what it once was. and the speakerphone completes their needs.

This obviously isn't the high tech type of phones that we all have grown accustomed to. If you're looking for all kinds of bells, whistles, ringtones, this is not the phone for you. HOWEVER, if you are just looking for something a little more simplistic, have to make and receive calls, need a caller id and maybe a phonebook and/or 1-3 memory numbers then this is the one. It does come with speaker phone, a mute button and a jack to hook up a headset as well, so for me it's ideal for my home based business where I receive incoming calls all day on it. But again, nothing fancy.

I bought this phone because I wanted a corded speakerphone to have at my desk. I love Panasonic, but this phone was definitley a let down. First of all, the colors are really...old fashion looking. They're gold and black and most everything these days is silver and black. Second of all, the LCD screen doesn't light up, so good luck seeing something on it at night or in the evening without a light directly on it. Then, the cord it comes with is really short, granted...an issue that can be resolved pretty easily, but still, they should have thought about it. Basically, it doesn't have an electrical source...so just imagine everything a phone CAN'T do without electricity and that's basically what you've got. The way the caller id lcd screen works is off batteries, so that's probably why the features are limited. It just seems like this phone was deisgned a LONG time ago and it hasn't been updated at all. Needless to say, I sent it back.

Excellent sound through handset but I purchased for speakerphone feature and I have to speak directly into the microphone very loudly for the other party to hear me.
