My 5 yr old grandson loved his vest. Made him feel good that he could swim with his sister.
It is east to put on and take off. He does it himself. We eventually take out some of the
foam pieces to make him work a little harder. It works great until he learns to put his
head in the water. Then we can ween him off of it.

I bought 2 of these. One for my 6 year old grandaughter, and one for my 4 year old grandson. They go all over the pool with these on. They do not restrict the arm movement and the children never complain that they are uncomfortable.

I purchased this for my 4 year old daughter and it has been a blessing since day 1. She is really learning to swim and before summer is over I am hoping to have her swimming without it. When wearing this vest she can easily swim on her stomach or back and it doesnt obstruct her movements. I recommend this to all parents with young children learning to swim.

We bought this for our 6 year old daughter to using during her swimming lessons and it has been wonderful. Within the first 2 weeks she was able to have some of the forms removed. She has taken lessons before, but none recommended this vest. This vest has done wonders for her confidence level in the water. We use it also during recreational swimming.

My son is 4 and the first day he wore this in the water he did so well, he was much more comfortable in the water and really wanted to try and swim. highly recommend this- the only issue is it's a little difficult to get in and out of it.

I bought this for my 5 1/2 year old,an she is 46 inches tall an she is about 47 pounds, she is very tall an skinny, but this Med size doesn't fit tall kids, so she can't wear the belt that goes between her legs, it's not long enough.. So if your kid is this size your better off getting the large if you can find it, walmart only sells small an med... It's not coast guard approved. It looks like it will last, an my daughter loves it, wish they had more of a sellection for the colors, you know girls an boys colors... The foam peices come out easy with not to much trouble at all, an it comes with direction on when to take one or two out at a time.. Its small so it can fit in only beach bag or backpack I liked that... Over All I think its a great item, an if your looking for something to help your child take that leap of fair we all had to do at one time to learn to swim this is the right item for you....

My 3 year old (soon to be 4) wore this for the first time a couple weeks ago. When we got in the pool she made me hold her hands, still very timid and afraid of the water. By the time we were done swimming she was pushing me away and made me go to the deep end of the pool so she could show me how far she could swim!! She loves it and it's made her love swimming so much!! So glad we bought it!! We bought the medium which I believe it said 33 Lbs - 40 something lbs. She's on the small side and it's plenty tight on her right now. She's probably around 33lbs. It has straps that you can loosen very easily to let it out when she grows. No regrets with this purchase, I would definitely recommend!!

I have a 6 and 4 year old. I love them. With a noodle my youngest can swim by herself. The oldest is able to swim with out being scared.
They can put them on by them self, but taking them off is a little harder.
I found taking them off in the water to be a lot easier.

Did your 6 year old fit in the medium vest? My 6 year old is 53 pounds, and the medium vest says it is recommended for up to 55 pounds. We can only find the large size (for 55 plus pounds) on amazon; what do you recommend.....if you don't mind sharing your child's weight and how the medium fit. Thanks.

I bought the larger size at a rummage sale for my son. He loved it so much I had to find the size for his little sister! She enjoys having the mobility to swim around without the "bubble" strap moving up to her armpits. Just wish the that crotch strap had a little more variability velcro-wise (daughter is petite, so it's pulled as far as I can to still have the velcro work).

I choose the Medium size as my kid is almost 3. But realized i should have gotten the Small size as the strap under the belly even with adjustments is too long and not fit smaller kids. Excellent produt otherwise ..and it even has strings on the side that can be tightened to ensure there is no slippage.
Did a Site-to-Store as this was not available locally - No hassles picking it up. Packaging was good.

I bought this for my 5 year old son who didn't know how to swim ,he has had it now for 3 weeks and we are in the deep end now with him.He doesn't have to hold on to you and we have taken 5 of the foams out he can even swim under water but now for long since the other foams pull him up,it is much better than the arm floats because it leaves him freedom,the only suggestion I have is the ties on the side , the one has already frayed,but is an easy fix .couldn't have asked for something better...
