May have actually been a good product if loading the bobbin wasn't such a pain. I eventually returned mine because this feature was such an annoyance. Definitely wouldn't recommend to a beginner.

This is a good little machine right out of the box. I did break the needle on the very first run so it isn't the strongest machine. Good starter model for someone just getting started or doing mending jobs. Could start a little slower so be careful. Good value for the money.

I absolutly love this machine! I sew at least 8 hours a day, between my serger and this machine. I use it as aa professional machine, so it gets lots of use! I dont need many stich functions, really only 3 of them, so for me it was perfect. lightweight, so it can swap spaces with my serger easily. I love that this little machine works well on lycra, my primary fabric, as well as anything else I have thrown at it, including fur. leather, and vinyl. The only thing I dont like about this machine is that it does not have a drop in bobbin system, which I prefer. I also find it works best with the old fashioned metal bobbins, instead of the suggested plastic. It eliminated all the tension problems I had with the plastic. I love this little machine sop much I plain on buying another!

i am very very upset with this product i dont even have this sewing maching 2 mos. and the machine litetal feel apart and im taking it back to walmart in quakertown to get a new one. i was sewing a few days ago when all of a sudden the needle area stopped working and then there was this pop when i opened up the area where the bobbin goes in the whole thing fell out i couldnt beleive it.. like what ? i have had a sewing machine for over 35 yrs and never had this happen.. im really really disapointe in this product i am a loyal walmart shopper i have bought so many items there this is the first.. so i would like for you to eamil me something where i can get this replaced i only have this product review i deleted my original purchase.. and i dont wnat to be stuck holding the bag and not be able to get a new one.. im very very disapointed but i still want a new one cuz i paid for a new machine or because of this maybe a little bit better one for a replacement with no extra charge so what can you do for me.. i love to sew and i want a new one or a better one with no extra chg.. thank you ms disapointed.

Today frusterated I am taking this machine back to WalMart. Supposed to be simple to set up and use.
The bobin thread keeps on getting tangled up, when I try to sew :( I will try a diffent model in hopes that it will be simple to use.

i got this sewing machine as a gift for xmas last year and i was so excited!! i started using it right away and it worked really good. only after a week of sewing it started tangling underneath and breaking the top thread. i asked my mother in law because she sews a lot and she said that i should use machine oil. so i did. and nothing, piece of junk just tangles on everything. its not worth it to buy this. i recommend spending a little more and getting a better machine.

I bought this machine because I was in college and needed something basic and cheap. It turned out to be more hassle and cause more problems than its worth. The bobbin gets stuck and jams constantly, no matter how thin the fabric I'm sewing. It usually gets stuck on the first stitches I sew, ripping and shredding the fabric. I would recommend saving some more money and buying a sewing machine that actually does its job.

The Brother LX3125 I purchased from WalMart is the best sewing machine I ever had, I have used it for the past three days and am happy that I can easily wind bobbins and thread the machine without any hastle, I am just a craft sewer but this machine is the finest for the money and it is a pleasure to sew with it. Very easy to use..looks like a woman invented this.

I bought this machine for myself Christmas of 2007 to replace a 40 year old Kenmore. Was I glad I did. I don't want to imagine how many miles of thread I put through my Brother and never have had a problem yet. I use it at least 4 times a week. I have made uniforms, tactical gear, hats, etc. I have a friend that has trouble with his Singer, he can't even sew through 2 layers of 1000D Cordura, and I have easily been able to sew through 8 layers without it moaning or groaning!!! I've even sewn leather with it. Everyone needs one of these!

I love this soooo much. I have had a lot of experience with all different types of sewing machines and I have to say that this particular machine will drive you to drink. The tension is the main issue. Just like others have said, the tension is messed up and it is impossible to fix. It is either to loose or gets all bunched up and forms a rats next under the fabric. I haven't ever had so much trouble with a machine's tension before as I have with this one.
On the other hand, it is simple to use and understand. Simple to thread and to set different stitch patterns. I wouldn't recommend this machine solely based on the ongoing, nevet ending tension issue.

I took my new Brother sewing machine out of the box, threaded it and mended the seam at the pocket of a pair of my husbands jean shorts, it sewed like a pro, then I took up the shoulders on a couple nylon pajama tops, and it sewed them perfectly. I bought this machine for our RV because of the size and weight and it sews as well as my big machine at home. I would highly recommend it for anyone, for just about any sewing project.

I do not know much about sewing machines but I do know this one has worked out well for what I used it for which so far has been sewing up several pairs of jeans and my leather phone case. I have never threaded a machine before but found it to be quite easy to do.
The reason I gave it the 4 stars for durability is because I just have not used it enough to know. but the rest of it I am very satisfied with.
