Perfect for basic sewing, mending, crafts, and scrapbooking projects this Brother 10-Stitch Portable Sewing Machine is designed keeping in mind everyday use by skilled sewers and beginner alike. This free-arm sewing machine includes a variety of built-in stitches each with multiple stitch functions, a four-step built-in buttonholer and an auto-bobbin winder. The sewing surface is easily convertible from traditional flat bed to free arm for sewing cuffs and sleeves. A reverse lever helps to lock completed stitches in place. This twin needle sewing machine includes decorative stitching, four quick-change presser feet, zipper foot, buttonhole foot, button sewing foot and zigzag foot. Hemming, sewing buttons, and stitching will be made easy with this portable and handy electronic sewing machine.

I decided to learn how to sew about 6 months ago. I didn't want to spend a fortune on a machine..in case it didn't work out. So, after reading a TON of reviews on this site and a few others, I choose this machine. And boy, am I glad I did!
It's SUPER easy to use. The manual explains everything and even helps you trouble shoot any little problems you might run into (although, I've only had one..the bobbin kept popping out...turns out, I put it in wrong)
It's easy to thread, easy to load the bobbin, easy to change bobbins, and easy to switch stitches. Stitch number 5 is great for finishing edges, the biggest on 6 is great for hand ruffling items and the automatic button holer is AMAZING. It's super simple to use.
I have made dresses and skirts and hairbows...and it's had NO problem with satins, cottons, linens or multiple layers! I sewed through 5 layers of satin the other day and it had NO problem with it at all!
I love this little machine and use it almost everyday. You can't beat the price. My friends have bought machine twice as expensive and their's can't do anything more than what mine can. So why spend more?

this is my second Brother machine. It is light weight and easy to work with.

I just need a machine to make curtains, pillows, hems and minor repairs to clothing. I am not a big sewer. I didn't want to spend a lot of money. This machine does what I need and more at a great price.
I have not had it long. I have made two pairs of curtains already and it works very well. It was very easy to get up and running.
It doesn't appear to be as sturdy as my last machine which was almost 35 years old when it gave out. It is made with thinner plastic. The pedal concerns me the most in terms of how long it might last. We shall see how it holds up. It is nice and light which is good for putting it away on the closet shelf when not in use.

This machine was giving to me as a gift over the summer. It lasted about 4 months before it stopped completely. When I first start using it, it sewed really fast and made these crackling noise. I could not figure out where the noise was coming from. While sewing a project, the machine just stopped working. My husband opened it up and found that the motor would not make any power for the machine to work. This machine is a piece of junk. It pays to spend a little bit more money to get a good working machine. Stay away from this product.

I THOUGHT THE TENSION DIDN'T WORK RIGHT, BUT.....IT WAS MY FAULT. I THREADED IT WRONG. NOW, I LOVE THIS MACHINE. I'M ONLY USING THE STANDARD STITCH. SO THAT'S ALL I CAN REVIEW. IT DOES A GREAT JOB.

I'm an avid stitcher and quilter, so when one of the grands asked me to send her a sewing machine...it was less costly to just buy one and have it delivered to her.
Em is loving her machine! She has been at it all day (after school)...and is in the process of making a small pillow. I explained that all machines have to be checked daily...check the bobbin case area for lint/threads...keep the area clean...read the manual (she did 3x)... she loves her machine!
The machine is pretty basic...and the stitches work great. It's lightweight and would be great to take to classes, etc. I have a similar machine & love it also. If you are looking for a good, basic machine, this will do the trick!

This Brother sewing machine does all I need it to do and more. It is easy to use especially the convertible arm to allow easier stitching on sleeves and leg hems. It is light weight so I can move it to where I need it. And the price is great.

I purchase this Sewing machine for simple projects. & I'm still learning about the settings. One thing I do recommend is to pay attention to when you take out the parts to put the bobbin in. It took me a while to get it back together. There is also a youtube video that will show you how to put it back together.

This was so easy to use right out of the box. So far it has met and exceeds our expectation. The only thing is I wish it came with a case for storing it away. Would be great if it had hard case, but even a soft cover would do to keep it dust free. Everything works on the machine. I glad to get another product from Wal-Mart that is exactly as described. Thank you.
