I especially love the threader. Getting older & having trouble threading a needle, this machine almost does it for me. It wasn't hard to figure out how to operate any part of this machine, with experience & the easy to follow manual. Ordering this online was easy, inexpensive & I didn't have to wail too long to get it. Overall, a great experience

I love this machine! its so easy to use. I ditched the Singer with the sideways bobbin.. I just couldnt figure that out! the drop-in bobbin is so much faster and easier. Im very pleased with the Brothers machine and the price was good. I was disappointed though, after I'd ordered and received my machine, they advertised the same machine WITH a sewing cabinet, which i would love to have had.... the savings was in the combo. I found an old style sewing machine cabinet without the machine and just altered it, works great!!

This little machine is perfect for once in a while sewing repairs and for crafts. The portablity means it can travel whereever there is a need. The needle threading feature alone for old eyes makes this a real gem. The down side is that after the emotional high of having such a tiny dinamo to work with I deflated quickly when I realized I had not thought about a carrying case or a cover for it. I came very close to returning it when the idea of having to store it uncovered between uses and how it would get dirty and even beat up in any storage area made me cringe. It would have been nice to have had an option to purchase a cover/carrying case or at least a mention of one being needed for storage. Luckily my friend had an old case from her machine that had broken and she saved the day and the machine has a new home rather than the shipping box.

I was looking for a machine with a vertical spool pin, one step button hole stitch, non computerized and did at least a straight stitch and a zigzag. Everything else was optional. My old machine was about thirty years old and needed fixed. For a little more than the tune up I got a great machine. There are no secret or complicated steps, its all straight forward. I plan on teaching my daughter to sew with it. Also Brother is a name I really trust in sewing machine.

Brothers builds a great machine and this one is a good example. It is easy to use and does all that is needed for most projects. I wanted mine because I can't find tops or dresses in a style I am comfortable with so I will now make my own.

I did not have any experience of sewing on machine. After looking instructions, I was able to set up this machine in 10 mins and able to sew in next 10 min.
I was using sew machine in my life first time but found very helpful set-up videos on youtube. However, it took me little time to figure out to adjust tension thread. I am very pleased with this machine and did able to sew 6 curtain panels of thick material, tried to fold 3-4 times for hem and machine worked very well.

It's a terific buy. Can't beat the price and performance. For those that do buy it, it is touchy in how you thread the needle and the bobbin. Go by the book and you will have a beautiful stitch. I have used 2 different thread colors and I cannot see the opposing color. For 85 bucks--it's a keeper.

I purchased this a few weeks ago. I know nothing about sewing but decided to buy one to sew some items for my daughter instead of buying them online, since they were getting pricey. Ifigured for the $85 price and what i would be spending on these necessary items for my daughter's medical condition, the machine pretty much paid for itself. Anyway with alot of help from YouTube and a great video on their on with a woman who has the same machine, how to thread the machine, i was up and running in no time. I was even able to sew a zipper in a pouch through youtube. In the two weeks i have gotten it i have come a long way and feel very confident when using it. I can thread machine quickly, broke a needle and figured that out pretty fast. The book is confusing so only went to it a few times. Again I find youtube helpful for how tos. Very glad I didnt give up on my sewing to quickly, in two weeks time I feel like a pro

I was surprised at how easy to use this machine was. I am a sewer and when I visit my son I always have projects to do. We usually borrow a sewing machine from a friend, then last year I took my old sewing machine, but it broke on the way. I decided that it was going to be cheaper and smarter to buy a new one, my grandkids want me to teach them how to sew. I went to Walmart.com and read the reviews and found that this machine had fabulous reviews and figured I could always return it. I found it easy right off the box. I was pleased that it was strong I made a duvet cover and found sewing through a few layers was not a problem. My grandkids are waiting for my next visit for their first lesson.

So far I really like the machine but every time you start sewing it has the tendency to suck the thread back up you either have to have a really long tail or hold the end of the thread when you start sewing, and I've noticed that more satiny material and shoulder pads do not get sewn, it runs through it but never catches the bobbin thread.

I recently purchased my very first sewing machine, and I absolutely love it! This sewing machines is great, I have not had any trouble with it, I love all the stitching options that it has. The only thing that I did have trouble with was the instructions on how to set the bobbin and thread the needle (probably since I had never done this before), I gave up on the manual instructions and ended up finding some very good videos on youtube for this specific model. So far I have made a skirt, two tops and a dress! I am so excited to start on my next project!
