Dyson DC15 Animal Bagless Upright Vacuum

AMAZING! I HAVE TWO LARGE DOGS AND TWO CATS - AND LOTS OF HAIR!!! THIS PRODUCT PICKS UP EVERY BIT OF HAIR ON ONE SWIPE!!!! LOVE IT - TOTALLY RECOMMEND TO ANY ANIMAL LOVER.

I had a Kirby, good machine but incredibly hard to move around and store due to bulky size. I fought with it for 5 years. Sold it for $200. Boohoo..

The Dyson is heavier than I expected, not in pushing/guiding, but in pulling it back to me. It has very strong suction, so that adds to the pull factor.
I have 2 cats and I have a special brush that took 5 minutes or more to clean off my dining room chairs of cat hair. Not now. The animal attachment did the job in 30 seconds or less per chair. Amazing.
It picked up so well, I had to empty it after every room or even in middle of one room.

My sister has the animal without the ball, she likes it but she now wishes she had the ball.

When not running and ball engaged, I have to remember to use the front pickup handle, it makes it easier to put it where I want it.
I like the fact that the small attachments for dusting etc are really some kind of brush material and not plastic fringe.

My daughter-in-law has a 4 or 5 yr old Dyson and hates it. She said it lost suction within a year.
It is now March 23, 2009, And I have only been able to give mine a good workout once so far and will probably only use it once a week. I will re-write/update this a bit later on.
If it continues to pickup this well, I will say it is worth the $600.00 it cost. I am keeping all receipts and packaging for at least 4 or 5 more weeks, then will update you on this.
The no interest and paying for it over a year was a good thing for me. And the fact that Walmart gives me a reasonable amount of time to try out the product and still return it if need be is a plus factor for me too.

P.S. I am 70yrs of age. In this age of the throwaway items, I shop long and hard with my dollars and I know what quality should be like. I promise to get back to you on this one.

We have had this Dyson for about a year and a half and I would never purchase another brand of vacuume but the Dyson. When we got it I vacuumed the house with our old vacuume and the went over it with the Dyson. I cant belive what came out of the carpet. Our old vacuume was only a year old, the Hoover Wind Tunnel. Spend the money and get the best vacuume ever!!!!

i am pleased with the performance. the extension wand is the only concern i have so far. it is very hard to put back in the hose. the release seems to get stuck. otherwise, it works well in a house with 5 pets. would like to see it become somewhat more affordable.

I was skeptical to purchase this vacuum because of the price. I did a lot of homework on line and in stores. I'm very happy that I decided to go with this vacuum. It's unbelieveable how much pet hair this picks up. We have 3 cats and 2 dogs. I'll never buy another vacuum other than a dyson.

With my old vacuum, I was always fighting it, having to keep it tilted so the brushes wouldn't eat the carpet, when vacumming the furniture, chasing the pet hairs because the static was so bad, pushing a heavy vacuum, that wouldn't turn where you wanted it, and having to dump the canister twice to finish the job, using a wisk broom to clean the filter etc. I always felt beat up when I was done. We live in the desert, and we have 3 dogs & 2 cats, and the sheding is endless, not to mention our furniture is definately "Hair Magnate" material! This vacuum turns on a dime, is easy to push, it picks up more hair than the old vacuum, and I don't have to tilt the vacuum to save the carpet, when this vacuum is in the upright position, the brush's don't turn, making it the easiest vacuum for furniture. To empty it, its just a push of the button, and it dumps right into the trash. It definately doesn't lose suction, I wish I hadn't waited so long to buy it, the price always put it on the wish list.....but after having it now, the price surpasses the ease of use, I should have done this a long time ago! WAY TO GO MR. DYSON!!!!

The vacuum is very expensive, however when I first tried it' it really did do a great job, I was surprised to see how much dirt the vacuum extracted. I thought the floor was clean till I ran this vacuum over my carpet and was amazed at how well it performed.

Cons: item is very expensicve, and although it looks nice I feel like I can break the plastic parts very easy. For instance the foot release for the handle. however nothing has broken yet just has a cheap feel.

I have two white cats that shed quite a bit. I needed a vaccum that could handle their hair but still get my home clean. I had previoulsy purchased a Bissel Animal, & it didn't even come close to how clean the Animal from Dyson got my home. I would definately recommend everyone I know who has animals with fur to purchase this Dyson. THANKS DYSON!!!

This is the best vacuum I have ever owned. I have 4 kids and a Golden Retriever and this vacuum doesn't skip a beat!
