I have hadthis Air conditioner Model for a year and it has already gone bad, and no longer works. When it did work it did its job expectedly. I am a bit upset to have had paid almost 200 dollars for a product that had gone Ka put in such a short time. We only used it last summer season (2008) for like the last 2 months, and then for the first maybe 3 weeks of this summer season (2009) so it technically has not even been used a year. Hmmmm, can I say junk, or what is the best word?

I purchased thia unit thinking it was okay but to my surprise it wasn't. The unit that I purchased appears to have started to catch fire. Thank god it didn't, yet the only thing that saved it was all the rain we have been getting the area. I took the unit out of the window to clean my windows and to my surprise on the left side of the unit was a burn mark as though the unit was catching on fire.

This air conditioner is a wonderful replacement for the very old, large window air conditioner that had been in this 1935 built house for a long time. It is very quiet and easy to operate and came at a bargain price. If I have to replace the other 2 window units, I'll order two more of this kind. It is great.

This is a pretty good unit that's easy to install and works as advertised. It was purchased to cool a bedroom, and does so quite well. The vents on it are horizontal/ vertical adjustable and the remote is an easy to use added bonus. The unit isn't anymore noisy than any other window unit I've used previously. For the price I would most certainly purchase another one if needed.

upon arrival of my AC unit was dented from the inside. I plugged it in an it sounded like a car that threw a rod. Upon investigation I find the compressor was torn away from it's mounts, after securing it,the fan is ok but the compressor is noisy and vibrates pretty loud. I had read a review similar to mine and thought maybe he just got a lemon, I guess not.

It does a good job cooling, but the remote won't last any time and the unit will not operate without it. And if you are ordering a new one it will take, let's see it will be 4 weeks tomorrow since they took my money but still have no remote. I would not buy another Haier product because of the way they have handled my order.

During a Texas heatwave they see fit to send me a machine, that with a simple inspection, should have been detected as defective. Even worse, it was shipped from the manufacturer, who should have known it was defective. During assembly the compressor was placed in the cabinet, but not secured to the mounts. During shipment it bounced around inside the cabinet, denting the top and right side. This might explain why someone else described how loud the machine was. With the compressor just bouncing around, it would be very loud. I returned it, reordered a new one, hope they don't just send me back the same one.

This air conditioner was so loud I could not hear the TV. It did produce cold air and the fan was ok, but when the AC kicked in the noise was unacceptable. I exchanged it for a GE and was very satisfied with it.

Easy to install - was complete in about 45 minutes.
Cooled quickly - could tell a difference immediately.
However, this one was so loud on both high and low settings that it sounded like a lawnmower in the bedroom window.
We returned this to Walmart and they refunded with no problem. May have been a defective unit. I do not know.

I thought this a/c would be perfect for my den; i wanted to reduce energy consumption during the long hot tx summers. Got the product home, removed it from the 1st box, then removed it from the haier box and was floored. there on the side was a big gash that looked like someone had taken an ax to the a/c. neither box was damaged so i'm thinking haier had to be aware of its condition. will not be buying anything that is labeled "haier" ever again.

I had read the reviews about this unit being noisy but I thought it wouldn't be bad in my home office. I just set the unit in the window and plugged it in and turned it on to see how bad it would be. It sounds like an engine coming apart. I wound not buy this even if it was only $1. I returned it and will look for a better unit. Don't buy this model no matter what.
