Haier 12-Bottle Table Top Wine Cooler, Black

We purchased this wine cooler and have been very content with it. It is quiet and holds the temperature at a steady 55 degrees for our white wines. It looks nice enough to put in the living room next to our rack for red wines. We are very happy with this purchase.

A very good price. Good performance - keeps wine at good temperature. It would be nice if it had a thermometer (now it has only a thermostat), but that definitely is not a necessity.

I really should have believed the prior reviews that the "wine cooler" is really a "wine not-so-cooler". I never reaches the proper temperature.

cools to 59 degrees on all settings. less than i expected.

This is the second one I have gotten. The first was a gift. I never felt the first one chilled the white wine enough. I finally got a thermometer to place in the unit and it would only chill to 59 degrees on the white wine option. I contacted Haier and they told me that it should chill to 45 degrees, but being I didn't have a receipt, they couldn't do anything about it. They told me that it probably is too hot because I have it near other appliances. The thing is that it is in a bar room, with NO other appliances. I ordered this one, with hopes it would work. The unit looks great on the counter. That is the only good thing I can say about it. In anticipation of putting my wine in, I put the thermometer in and let it sit for several days. Guess what? It only chills to 59 degrees. It is perfect if you want to store red wine, which is what I will do with my original one. I will have to keep it on the white wine setting, otherwise, it goes up to 65 degrees. I am returning this second unit.

My wife did a pre-emptive strike for my birthday when she purchased this 12 bottle wine cooler for me. I had attended a wine tasting with her, and expressed an interest in trying different wines at home. She knows me too well. I would have gone out and overdone it with a much larger capacity cooler, but this one turned out to be the right one for now.
Buy it if you want to keep a nice selection of reds and whites on hand for company and the occasional bottle with dinner.
I keep both reds and whites in mine and leave it on the lower white temperature range. Not sure if that's the best for long term storage, but I cycle through my small collection regularly. I don't think a couple of degrees will matter much. I also limit my purchases to under $20 per bottle, so I'm not risking a huge investment.
I think guests really appreciate it when I offer pretty much whatever they want. A bottle of each variety--limited to 12 of course--pretty much ensures I have something on hand for them.
After trying out a variety of wines the past year, I can pretty much drink anything except the really sweet stuff. There's something about sharing a bottle with friends that's truly special.
