This gate was extremely easy to put up (I actually purchased two). I use it to keep my small dogs confined as needed and so far have no issues. The lock is a bit tedious to open when pushed into the locking position, so I only push it all the way down if I'm leaving the house. I've just been pushing it down without clicking it and it can just be lifted up and down when moving room to room. I purchased another gate that was too small to fit my doorways and it was more expensive and difficult to install. I think this is great for the price and it's not junky looking either.

I had this same model of gate up in my house in a doorway, to keep my dogs from moving too freely in the house. When the latch didn't release (after 10 years of use) I chose the same new model recently and wasn't disappointed. EASY to install, nice looking, works exactly as anyone would want - I would highly recommend this gate...all for a super reasonable price!

I bought two of these gates when my daughter started walking to keep her out of the kitchen, and so far they work great. The walk-through feature and one-handed latch system are very convenient, and I love that I don't have to screw them into the wall and make permanent marks for them to work. The latch is complicated enough that my daughter can't work it, and yet easy for an adult to use. It took me longer to get them out of the box than it did to install them, and without any tools, too. I'm very pleased with them.

I bought this gate to keep my dog out of my daughter's room. I love the fact that it locks the door in place because there is no way for the dog to get in there. The only thing that I wish it had was a spring to make it shut once someone walked through it. That would make this amazing.

I purchased this DESPITE several reviews telling me not to. I have a 35-36" in opening #the walls are not completely level and we have baseboards#. In general, assembly via tension was super easy. I had no issues with figuring out how to install it. Without the extension it comes with the gate would not stay in place because the tension was way too loose, so I installed the extension. With the extension it BARELY fit on the drywall #wouldn't install into the baseboards#. Now, I have it installed but because of the baseboards we have to step over the bottom bar which is approx. 3 inches off the ground. Not a major deal, but when hauling laundry it's just one more thing I have to think about. It's also a pain because it's at the top of the stairs.
It seems fairly secure- My son is only crawling at this point so he will test it out sooner or later. If we need to use the hardware mounting we will, but wanted to test it before drilling; and it's a good thing because we're going to keep it where it is for now, but move it later. Then we will invest in a more expensive one that fits in the doorway better so we don't have to step over the bar anymore. But for now it works.
I think for the price it's a good gate. I wouldn't buy this if you have baseboards and similar measurements 35" or 36". But, if it's a few inches larger or smaller this should work even with baseboards.

We got this gate for our chihuahua and dachshund. Our dachshund actually climbed over our cheap crisscross gate we had, and it was a pain to always have to step over it. It fits in our 33" doorway well. Only issue for me is my dachshund is rather small, so she was able to squeeze through the end between the wall and the last bar. The extension makes the baby gate too big, so for now, had to place the extension piece upright, sideways against the wall to decrease the gap a bit. Easy enough fix for me. Very sturdy and easy to open. Definitely happy about getting this. My sister's thinking about getting one as well for when her son starts to walk!

I have 2 dogs, one a Yorkie who is very small, the other about 20 lbs. This gate is wonderful for containing them. It was easy to install by myself, and works great! The dogs can see me and get air through the gate, but they haven't been able to push it down or go through it. I wish I had gotten this gate a long time ago. I now have two of them and I would recommend them to anyone who needs to contain a pet. I use them in my open kitchen so they are contained to only half of the kitchen which makes it easy for me to get into the fridge and get to the sink without going through the gate, even thought the gate is very easy to open.

Bought this and returned it within a couple of days. Cheap is the first thing that comes to mind after getting the one that replaced it. The plastic lever on top is not going to last long. Seeing how other gates are made to open, this one totally misses the mark. It really does not need to be so hard to open. Overall, you should spend the 10.00 more to get an easy close gate that is more sturdy and easier to open. You will not be disappointed you chose the next step up.

My doors are 36" and this gate fits perfectly (I did have to use the extension). It fits tightly and it's very sturdy. It keeps my 75 pound dog securely locked in my kitchen when I don't want him wandering around the house. He has leaned on it, bumped into it, and jumped on it and it has never fallen down.
I also like the spring-loaded locking mechanism on it which I use all the time because the dog did figure out how to open the gate when it's not locked. To open the gate when it's locked, it's a two-hand operation. You have to pull the lock to one side with one hand, and lift the handle with your other hand at the same time.
For those who are concerned about making the gate even more sturdy, it comes with four wall cups that can be screwed into the wall on all four corners to make it almost impossible to fall over, however, when you take the gate down, you'll be left with 4 holes on the inside of the doorway.
I love this gate. I came to the website today to purchase another one to replace the old wooden gate on another doorway in my kitchen. The wooden gate is a real pain and is constantly falling down if you bump into it, but this Regalo gate is sturdy, great quality and looks great in the kitchen.

Use wall cups

I think this is a good gate if you intend to install the wall cups to the wall. If you intend to use the pressure mount option, it may not be secure enough. With the extension, there is a little too much movement to get a really tight pressure fit. I would definitely recommend if used with the wall cups, though. It looks good and price was so much better than other metal gates with a swinging door.

This gate is awesome. Don't let the price fool you. Very well made. Strong and sturdy.
Other than the gate latch it has an all steel frame and bars structure. Very easy hassle free installation. I have one small con. Gate opening is a little narrow with about a 1-1/2" step over at the bottom. But this is minor and workable for the quality and value of this product. I give this gate a big thumbs up.

This is a good gate. It definitely serves its purpose. The only thing I would change would be the locking mechanism. It is too easy for my kids to open. I wish they made something that kids wouldn't figure out in five minutes! Other than that it's a great gate. Would recommend it to anyone with a child/children 2 or younger.

I read the instructions completely before putting this together. Some of the other reviews had mentioned issues so I wanted to be clear going in. I put it together and installed this gate by myself with no issues. I actually installed multiple gates. If your baby is crawling you can shut it without latching, but once he starts standing the latch lock works great. I saw some people complaining about it, but I can unlatch and open with one hand without issue. My suggestion is to read the instructions before you do anything else and this should work fine.
