Great gate! Fits my 36" doors PERFECTLY!

My doors are 36" and this gate fits perfectly (I did have to use the extension). It fits tightly and it's very sturdy. It keeps my 75 pound dog securely locked in my kitchen when I don't want him wandering around the house. He has leaned on it, bumped into it, and jumped on it and it has never fallen down.
I also like the spring-loaded locking mechanism on it which I use all the time because the dog did figure out how to open the gate when it's not locked. To open the gate when it's locked, it's a two-hand operation. You have to pull the lock to one side with one hand, and lift the handle with your other hand at the same time.
For those who are concerned about making the gate even more sturdy, it comes with four wall cups that can be screwed into the wall on all four corners to make it almost impossible to fall over, however, when you take the gate down, you'll be left with 4 holes on the inside of the doorway.
I love this gate. I came to the website today to purchase another one to replace the old wooden gate on another doorway in my kitchen. The wooden gate is a real pain and is constantly falling down if you bump into it, but this Regalo gate is sturdy, great quality and looks great in the kitchen.

Use wall cups

I think this is a good gate if you intend to install the wall cups to the wall. If you intend to use the pressure mount option, it may not be secure enough. With the extension, there is a little too much movement to get a really tight pressure fit. I would definitely recommend if used with the wall cups, though. It looks good and price was so much better than other metal gates with a swinging door.

This gate is awesome. Don't let the price fool you. Very well made. Strong and sturdy.
Other than the gate latch it has an all steel frame and bars structure. Very easy hassle free installation. I have one small con. Gate opening is a little narrow with about a 1-1/2" step over at the bottom. But this is minor and workable for the quality and value of this product. I give this gate a big thumbs up.

This is a good gate. It definitely serves its purpose. The only thing I would change would be the locking mechanism. It is too easy for my kids to open. I wish they made something that kids wouldn't figure out in five minutes! Other than that it's a great gate. Would recommend it to anyone with a child/children 2 or younger.

I read the instructions completely before putting this together. Some of the other reviews had mentioned issues so I wanted to be clear going in. I put it together and installed this gate by myself with no issues. I actually installed multiple gates. If your baby is crawling you can shut it without latching, but once he starts standing the latch lock works great. I saw some people complaining about it, but I can unlatch and open with one hand without issue. My suggestion is to read the instructions before you do anything else and this should work fine.

easy to setup, also like the extender that can be used or not and also the attachments for locking into a stair area, great safety feature! All though we have toddlers in and out, we use it to keep the pets out of certain areas of the house.

It needs to be screwed into the wall, the pressure mount is great but can not hold up to a walking kiddo who wants to get passed it. It was easy to install the plates though to screw it in place. The only thing I don't like is that it's not easy to open, you almost need two hands-not an easy task if babe is all ready in your arms,

We bought this gate to keep the dogs out of the cat area (litter & food). The gate was very easy to install and came with an extension if needed. We find the gate easy to use and works great for our purpose. Overall we are pleased with the product.

Hi, I got the gate yesterday to keep my two year old out of the kitchen. Pros: The gate is easy to put up, very sturdy, and I don't think he will figure out how to unlock it for awhile. Cons: the opening to walk thru is a little narrow and the bar at the bottom has caused some family member's to trip because they had forgot it was there.
Also, I would say it is for ages 0-3yrs old depending on the child. After watching us a couple of times my 4yr old niece has figured out how to unlock it. Also my two year can open it if its not locked completely. So to insure that your little one will not get in or out make sure you hear the "click" to know that its locked. Overall good gate but it has only been 24hrs.

Excellent gate. Got a plastic one before this one and it was just garbage. My daughter would just make it fall with her walker. The best thing is that the price of this gate for the material its made of is sold very very cheap. So I would just recommend going for metal gates,especially this one.

The product works exactly as shown in the picture. It is NOT a heavy duty gate. It is NOT intended to block off a large area. There is a fairly significant ledge to step over, and the gate itself is rather narrow. That being said, the value dollar for dollar is excellent. This gate would not hold up long to a large dog trying to get to the other side, or a determined toddler throwing a tantrum, but is useful for keeping areas blocked off.

I did the site to store an we waited for 15 minutes before someone would help us. At least 5 employees walked past us, without saying anything. Then when we finally got help an received our gate, the box was all torn up an all the screws for it where just laying in the box.

This product is working just as it should. Very easy to install, very secure. It is at the top of steps and we feel safe with it. I only wish the opening was wider. It's rough carrying a basket of laundry up over the gate.

We had the plastic tension gate forever and I am so glad we upgraded. My 5 year old can get through but it able to lock it back safely without getting fingers caught. It's sturdy and easy to install. I'm happy with it.
