After a month of reviewing and comparing all the GPS systems that are out there with there different features and prices, I decided to go with the Garmin 350 GPS System that I purchased on-line at Walmart. After receiving the system and trying it out, I was not dissapointed!!! Very user friendly. For the price, it offers features that other systems do not offer, like a built-in MP3 Player, Built-in Audio Books. These are just some of the great features that this GPS System offers.

This is the first GPS I have purchased. I am extremely disappointed. I received the product yesterday and the only owners manual that comes with the product is a Quick Reference Guide. It is VERY vague and leaves allot of guess work as to the operation of the product. When I browsed to garmin's website to try to download the pdf for the larger, more thorough manual, it causes my computer to hang. Obviously no help there. I also tried to download the manual to the GPS unit and had to continue guessing what to do because of vague instructions. That was unsuccessful. I will say that the unit is fairly easy to navigate through; which might be it's saving grace. It locates the satellites within about 30 seconds when starting up in my location. However, when standing still, it seems to lag in changing directions with my body movements which is less than expected. Possibly I am expecting too much? Another thing that is disappointing is that it gives no indication what memory size of SD card is allowed in the unit. I have yet to road test it, but plan on doing that today. It did locate various POI's in my area though, but was outdated. Some of the restaurants, etc. were no longer in business. This would be frustrating when in an unfamiliar location. Unless you live in a larger metropolitan area forget using FM TMC traffic data. It is by subscription only. Not all metro areas are covered either. CNET rates this unit as excellent on their site. That helped me to decide on this particular unit, but after the disappointing instructions and extended wait reaching garmin customer service, I'm not sure the unit is worth it at any price. Any of garmin's enhanced features on the unit require the purchase of their particular SD cards. Boo! Like I mentioned before, I will see what I think after a road test.So far, it is off to a disappointing start.

I love my Garmin nuvi 350 gps. I am still finding new information it is capable of doing. I researched for several weeks about a gps and when I saw all the high reviews about this product, I knew that this was the one I wanted. Having the "Text to Speech" with it is also a plus. My husband and I are so amazed about how accurate it is. We will use it this weekend when we go out of town... so that will be the real test, but I have no doubt we will not be disappointed with it.

Pros: In comparison with other GPS systems the Garmin 350 is a the top of the list. Great price for all the futures it offers. Easy to use and convenient to carry. Cons: On the highways when approaching a curve it keeps instructing you to go either to the left hand lane or the right one rather than to say stay the course. Also at high speeds data is retrieved about 1000 ft slower. Recommendation: I would recommend it to anyone looking for a easy to use GPS system.

Get 'em while they got 'em... after my c340 was stolen (from my luggage in Philadelphia airport!) I first purchased a Medion GPS, which was a rebadged Navigon. Horrible UI and it crashed ALOT (based on Windows CE, natch!). After returning it to Aldi's I did some more some research and found this on Walmart.com. Quite a deal, also rated a best buy by Consumer Reports. I liked it so much I picked one up for my wife on Amazon as the Walmart price had crept back up again. Still, if available for 199.99 or less pick one up as it is hard to beat that price!

I read other reviews before making my purchase. I could not be happier with the Garmin 350 Nuvi. It is easy to use and takes the stress out of traveling. We just took our first trip to Nashville, Tn (Me, my wife, and 4yr old) and it was very helpful. Once I was close to the location we were headed to, the Garmin told me to stay left. I said, "I think I'm supposed to go to the to the right here." My 4 year old piped up from the back seat "Trust the Garmin." We followed the Garmin route and surprise, its route was indeed better. Our new family slogan when traveling "Trust the Garmin"!

The gps is a great tool, the only thing I would fault it for is that it doesn't do good in the middle of nowhere in Madison county. It doesn't find some of the addresses and will send you to the road, but can be a bit confusing. My boyfriend upgraded to a 750 and it was able to find some of the roads I was not. For the money, it works well.
