In addition to detailed maps, the nuvi 350 provides automatic routing, turn-by-turn voice directions, an MP3 player, a JPEG picture viewer, a world travel clock, a currency converter and more. Please Note: A windshield mount is included with this GPS unit. Some states regulate use of the windshield mount. Please check with your state laws to ensure you are compliant. In states that prohibit use of the windshield mount, a dashboard mount (also included) may be required to use this GPS unit.

We just completed a 2 week road trip using the nuvi 350 and it was great. It takes a little time to get used to the best ways to communicate with the unit but by the time we were home we considered ourselves hooked on gps.

This generation of GPS is finally the beginning of the mainstream GPS technology for every family, as is the micro wave oven, digital watch, calculator, and PC Computer. This level of GPS unit is finally affordable. The touch screen, search capabilities, and text to speech features make this unit effortless to navigate. Text to speech is priceless as it not only announces the distance to your next turn but also the name of the street that a turn is to be made on. There is little need to look at the unit while driving. The Nuvi 350 is the best possible choice at any price. The Picture viewer and MP3 player are not even a consideration for my 5 star review.

Great for finding hard-to-find locations or discovering new ones. All needed accessories are in the box. POI (Points of Interest) files with shopping, sites, and restaurants can be downloaded from other websites for many places. Good for planning vacations. Only disappointment: maps are outdated so you must download new edition(takes two hours with high speed connection) or buy a map CD from Garmin after registering. Safer to use a removable (dashboard or grill vent) GPS mount that can be hidden than the permanent mount included - a thief-magnet.

Directions are clear, I like the mp3 player. It could use front volume controls. It is accurate until you arrive at your destination, then it may be a house or two off or say the house is on the left, when it is really on the right. But overall it has been accurate.

Longtime Garmin owner. (E-Trex, E-Map, Street Pilot III) While there was no included mapping DVD and associated Mapsource installation in the package, I was able to download a 2GB file that updated my maps on the unit to 2009 version--- for free. Hard (non-intuitive) to mark a waypoint you find on a map to later route to.

I like almost everything about the Garmin Nuvi 350. It's nearly perfect as a travel companion. The more I use it, the more I fail to understand how I lived my life without such a device for as long as I did. I have two complaints: 1) The flip-up antenna is a bit of a pain. It's awkward and sometimes gets in the way, especially since I have chosen not to use the mounting hardware. 2) Although I have set the voice to the maximum volume level, it remains only minimally adequate to overcome normal engine noise at highway speeds. This was not a major issue on my last long trip, as I was listening to the built-in mp3 player through headphones. The voice interrupted playback with clear navigation instructions, then returned to the exact spot in playback where it had paused. All things considered, this is a well thought out device. For the price, I am extremely pleased.

I had played with a Garmin Nuvi in a store before I decided to purchase this model at walmart.com. It had been recommended to me to get a wide-screen model, but I don't miss the wider screen. I do think it sounds a little condescending when it says "recalculating", but maybe I'm just being sensitive! One great feature is that I can download podcasts to it, and listen while I'm driving! And I've programmed into my favorites all the places I go for business on a regular basis so that no matter what new location I'm visiting, I can always get a quick route to my regular stops.

If you are looking for a GPS that will get you there and back and also allow you to take sidetrips, this is the one for you. It guided us from IL to TX and back, no problem...plus it allowed us to see the sites without any worry of getting lost. It was a long trip and we couldn't plan in advance where we were going to eat or sleep, so we relied on this GPS to point these places out to us, on demand...Updating the preloaded map via a download was a little challenging, trying to get through firewalls, so if you have any concerns about this, just get the DVD ($10 S/H)

The 350 has been a great product so far. I've used it on many trips. It was nice to get the free map update. I also loaded the monster truck for my nephew and use a british woman to tell me where to go. My own personal butler. Nice!

The Nuvi 350 always gets you to the place you enter; however, I have noticed that in rare instances it has trouble in downtown areas. The most common error it has made so far is to tell you to make a left onto a divided road, which is kind of annoying, but quickly remedied with a u-turn. Overall, the 350 has been great, especially for the price.

This product is really, really awesome. It locates the satellites within 1-2 minutes if that and takes you places in a breeze. I paid half of what I would have gotten for it in best buy. I took a trip to NY and did not miss one turn from this product and I got there quick and easy. I had a Garmin nuvi 200W and that product was not good. It took atleast 5 minutes to locate the satellite, which was horrible cuz when I wanted to take a trip I wanted to head out right away! The nuvi 350 is the way to go! I would recommend the product to anyone!
