The Garmin nuvi 350 is a portable GPS navigator, traveler's reference and digital entertainment system in one. In addition to detailed maps, the nuvi 350 provides automatic routing, turn-by-turn voice directions, an MP3 player, a JPEG picture viewer, a world travel clock, a currency converter and more. Please Note: A windshield mount is included with this GPS unit. Some states regulate use of the windshield mount. Please check with your state laws to ensure you are compliant. In states that prohibit use of the windshield mount, a dashboard mount (also included) may be required to use this GPS unit.

The nuvi 350 is easy and fun to use. The online manual is a must read and can answer many questions. I recomend you use it in familiar settings and getting accustomed to it before going on a trip. When my nuvi arrived, my husband charged it and entered locations in the favorites section. His folks were impressed enough to buy their own nuvi for a trip they took recently. When we go to the UK in a couple of years, this is definitely going with us. (We'll download UK maps).

I purchased this item about two weeks ago. I recieved it about a week and a half ago. I registered it and was notified that I could download the 2009 map free of cost. I did that and it took about 10 hours or more to get that finished. I use a satillite connection for the internet. The download speed is not as fast as cable but many, many times faster than dial-up. This length of time was disappointing but I suppose nothing can be done about that. I took a day trip the Saturday after I recieved it. I went to a city about an hour from me to pick up a friend and together we went to our final destination. Our final destination was a small town in the neighboring state. My friend lives in a housing addition that's about 5 years old. Neither his address nor the small town which was our final destination were on the Garmin map. This was a huge disappointment. I could get directions to niether place I wanted to go. I very seriously considered returning the product and still may. All else with the product seems fine. While I've not tried it, I do THINK the bean bag type mount will be required. D Butt East Central Iowa

Spent time with it on several trips now. Taken known previous routes with it and it wants to take you sometimes in a different direction to what you are used to. No problem with recalculating. It's very, and I mean very, quick and precise. Confidense in it is high from this point of view. I think you'll learn the tricks as you learn the devise (as per owners I have talked to). Get ear phones if you live in monsoon territories, monster rainfalls blot out sound from unit. All in all I'm very satisfied with this particular unit.

We used our Garmin nuvi 350 on a recent vacation trip to Colorado, and it was awesome! It not only lead us to destinations where we knew the address, it even helped locate places we didn't have addresses for. Looking for a restaurant for dinner, or maybe a WalMart or Sam's Club? No problem! The nuvi 350 will find them and take you right to them. the learning curve is pretty easy, too. The main thing I had to learn was NOT to question the nuvi, which some renamed streets prompted me to do!
We also installed a 2-GB memory card in the nuvi and loaded it up with our favorite songs. An inexpensive adapter to hook it up to our car's stereo, and we didn't need to search radio stations to find music to our liking.
There are, of course, other features of the Garmin nuvi 350 too numerous to mention, so let me just say that I highly recommend this product to anyone who has to do any travelling.

This product is so easy to use that we have now purchased two of them-one for each vehicle. We recently moved to a large city from a rural area and this device has been a life saver. Whether it's finding an exact address or somewhere to eat, we could not live without it. Easy to use and gives great, easy to follow directions and street names.

The Garmin 350 GPS has been a good purchase. I especially like the feature where it announces the name of the street since I can't always see it without my reading glasses on! My teenage children are also borrowing it when they need to go somewhere for their sports on their own. It makes me feel a little more confident that they won't get lost! I also like the feature that when you run into a detour it will reroute you. I would recommend this product. My only negative comment is that I wish it had a button for Points of Interest.

When we received the GPS we plugged it up and used it to go into our town and it was not correct at all. It was giving us highways that we never heard of and streets no where to be found. Not sure if it was not mapped properly or not. I returned to a local Walmart and recd my money back. I have not purchased another GPS yet.

The Garmin nuvi 350 was a great price. It works well except that it gives very odd routes too frequently - it tries to take me down roads that are not there, or are closed. It also directs me to take routes that are a lot longer than needed.

This product is very easy to use and has come in handy many times. If you have the address of the place you are going, it is very efficient. However, if you type in a store name (like Books a million or Subway) there have been times when the store wasn't where the Garmin thought it was. We live in the mountains and it has every street except for ours correct! That's ok, we know where we live. Also, many new stores are not listed and some old stores are still where newer stores are. I wish that portion could be updated a bit better. The voice options are nice as "Jill" is not the easiest to understand sometimes. Got it for a steal on walmart.com. ~$200 vs $400 at BBY and CC. In summary, it does what I want it to do. If I know where I'm going it gets me there and most of the time will find points of interest or stores correctly. It is very, very easy to use.

This GPS is very accurate and I have used it in Ohio, Alaska, and California without problems. It is very good at finding a specific address. It recalculates a route quickly if I miss a turn. It can take a few minutes to find satellites in a new location. It would be nice if it were smart enough to figure out what time zone it was in on its own. The points of interest need serious updating - very limited! It could not find an elementary school that was built 10 years ago. It couldn't find a library, DMV, or Univ. Cal. Santa Barbara etc. I feel like I need to buy an upgrade POI after having it only 2 weeks. It has a lot of unnecessary bells and whistles that are not important to me which add to the price. It is very small, which is nice to stick it in your pocket while you are out of the car. The only problem is that it is hard to type in an address because the keys are so small. (I have small hands and it is still hard for me) Before I owned this product I had Magellan 1412 and my old product was better and less expensive. I actually liked that one better but it froze a lot so it got returned. I am stuck with the Garmin now.

I love this product. It is not only helpful when visiting places you have never been, but it also helps with resturants, and atms, and much more. I love the feature that it tells you where to turn before you get there. Much more helpful than trying to read it while driving. Would def. recommend to a friend or anyone looking for a gps.

I got this GPS for my birthday. I love it! It comes with everything you need, a charger for your car, a charger for your home, a USB cable for your computer and mounting for either the windshield or dashboard. As I've read in other reviews of GPS products, it doesn't always take you the most direct route, but you'll still get there. Great Value at Walmart!!!! By the way, was able to download the latest maps from the Internet - FREE!

Overall this product is good and has been very helpful especially when traveling out of state. The drawback is that when you miss your turn and the GPS recalculates another route it seems like it takes you on the scenic route. You will get to your destination eventually. I like that you can get information when in another state or attractions, gas stations, etc.. With the cost of gas arising it definitely saves on mileage and gas.

I am very pleased with this product. I recently purchased it for a trip and it was worth every penny. During the trip, I ran into a large traffic jam on the interstate and was easily able to navigate around it by choosing the "Detour" feature. Lots of cool features and options. Love the Garmin Garage feature. Since I am a Paramedic I was able to customize my unit with an ambulance as my vehicle. Very Cool!!!

Nice GPS, it works really well overall. Basic features and is easy to use. Picks up signal really well. It does have some trouble with route directions every now & then, but nothing too serious. Also, maybe its just that I'm a bit picky, but it mispronounces some road names (Though it can be comical to hear it say Mary Lane instead of Mariott Lane)
My biggest disappoint is that Garmin does not consider the device eligible for the free map update so you are stuck with the preloaded map until you buy a new one.
