I got these for my 2000 dodge dakota 4x4. I wanted a tire that would be good for the snow and that looked bulky. When I saw these, the tread looked like it would be good and they seemed like the would be what I wanted. Once they were mounted, I didn't like them. They are too small and looked awkward on my truck. The traction was decent in snow when driving but they were terrible for stopping in it. They couldn't grip very well while turning around a corner. I'm now looking at getting the bigger tire option for the truck. Wouldn't recommend them if you live somewhere with slick road conditions or if you want a bulky looking tire. Price was pretty good

Excellent Tire - Ordered most recent set 2-23-13

This is the best valued tire on the market. For the price, you can't beat them. Are they the best tire out there? For this price...yes.
I have Wranglers on two Jeep Cherokees. One set was put on my son's first vehicle, a 1994 Cherokee, in April of 2006. This week, with 30,000 miles currently on them, I drove through the 2-21-13 Nebraska 10" snowstorm like it wasn't there. This old beater Jeep justs keeps going in bad weather.
The Wranglers on my daughter's current vehicle, a 1998 Cherokee have around 42,000 miles...mostly in town driving. I ordered a new set of Wranglers online from Walmart today.
Not sure how long Wranglers will be around or how well they work on a heavy vehicle...but for the lighter SUV's... they work excellent on the highway or gravel and in snow, rain, and hunting Central Nebraska fields and creek bottoms.

Look closely at SUVs and Trucks in your neighborhood. Every vehicle pretty much has these tires. If I could have done it again, I would get another brand name tire or asked the white wall be turned inside so people couldn't see which tire brand I have.

Great tire for the money

My 1998 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 has had three sets of these tires, including the set I just purchased. I ran each of the first two sets for just under 50,000 miles. I put mostly highway miles on them pulling a boat trailer most of the time. I have had only one flat in 15 years. The only problem I had was with my spare. It never touched the ground in those 15 years, except for a brief period when I had the flat. I found when I purchased my present set of tires that it had dry rotted and cracked around the rim. The technician at the tire place said that this wasn't unusual since it was 15 years old. I used one of the tires that was being replaced as a spare since it had plenty of tread left. I couldn't think of a better tire I would rather have on my Jeep.

Beat My Expectations For This Price

Keep this review in context - I left Walmart with a new set of tires, mounted and balanced for less than what 2 of the Michelins I replaced would have cost me anywhere else. With that in mind, these are decent tires. I find the stiffness and highway stability not as good as the Michelins I replaced but again, keep the price in mind. Excellent value for decent tires. I don't offroad. These are on my '81 Dodge 250 RV conversion. I put < 1000 miles on these a year. Will likley last me another 30 years at that pace.

I have these on my wrangler (go figure) They aren't to bad for light off road. My problem is with the durability I have had them for a few years and the tread seems to hold up as well as expected but the casing does not. My mechanic refused to rotate them. He told me they need to be replaced. He showed me broken belts and a cracked casing on the inside of the tire where the rim meets the casing. I have bulges in my side wall and the truck shakes going down the interstate, it will almost tare the wheel out of your hand. I would just wright it off normally but he show me the same conditions on two more cars. One is an incident with three I'm beginning to see a pattern. It would not frustrate me so much if 1. they still are showing significant tread depth ( another 10,00 miles) and two I have a brand new full size spare that has never been on the ground has has a tire cover over it, I was originally going to purchase 3 and use the best used one for a spare but I'm worried I'm spending good money chasing bad I orignalyly got these tires on sale at about half of what the price is now if they would drop the price to $50.00 I would consider them again for three tires but my expectation on usage would be 3 years or 35000 miles

I like these tires, especially the price. My only complaint is when towing my 25' camper is a lot of sway and does not leave you feeling comfortable at 60-65 mph. I have stabilizer bars on trailer but never had this prob with Michelin's I replaced.

I did research and read reviews on these tires before purchasing them two years ago. I live in the mountains of New Mexico and we get the whole gamut of road conditions from searing dry heat to subzero sleet and snow. I put them on my Dodge D-50 4x4 pick up and was totally satisfied with their performance from dirt and mud to freeway cruising. Great tires and will be buying another set soon cause I got talked out of the little Dodge.....

I do a lot of on and off road driving in my 95 Jimmy, bought a set of these tires 3 weeks ago (I know it doesn't mean a lot unless you put some serious miles on them) with 3000+ miles already behind them I couldn't think of a better deal, lot of off road driving and back on the black top and the treads are clean after only a few miles (it's a miracle), I have 4 other rims at home, will be throwing these tires on real soon.

I bought 4 tires for my Ford Ranger. They were inexpensive at a time when I didn't have a lot of extra money. They have only been on the truck for a year and a half and after only 16,000 miles 2 of them didn't pass the NYS safety inspection because the tread was gone. They are junk, don't buy them.

Great tire and even better price

The tires I had on my jeep grand Cherokee were over a decade old and not safe to drive on anymore. The sidewalls were cracked but still had good amount of tread on them. Apparently the rule of thumb is five years max for tires on vehicles and a couple more if stored properly. I have exceeded the useful life and having a full-time 4wd the rule is replace all four at once. Given the price of tires I spent a lot of time looking for decent tires for a reasonable price. I stumbled onto these while looking at other tires from Wal-mart. I don't go off-road often and do a majority of my driving on the street. I didn't need to spend $200 a tire which looked cool but had a diminished life span. I feel confident they will do well with the occasional snow and ice in Oregon. These were a great deal, and look great on my jeep. I've had these tires before on a YJ jeep wrangler and liked them then. I expect these tires to meet my expectations and the price was awesome!

Some of the WORST tires I've ever owned!

By roughboyohio ,

I bought a set of these tires a while back because I was in a bind. Someone had slashed the tires on my 1990 Ford Ranger 4x4 and I needed to replace them fast. I've put about 20,000 miles on them since I bought them about a year ago and I have to say they are just plain JUNK. Within the first few days I had them on the truck I had to park on the grass over night. In the morning my 4x4 couldn't even make it up the slight incline to get onto the pavement without spinning the tires because of the morning dew on the grass. They are not wearing well either but I never could get good wear from any Goodyear tire.
Anyone that says these are good off road tires is just plain crazy. They loose traction at the first sight of anything that isn't paved and they aren't that great on the road either.
I'm just glad we didn't get much snow last winter because this truck wouldn't have been going anywhere if we had.
I know the review says that I use them every day but that's only because I have to get to work and the Ranger is the truck that gets the best gas mileage. If I need to pull a trailer or get out in a field I use a different truck with real tires on it. These will be coming off the Ranger this weekend-well before the snow flies-and I'm going back to my Cooper Discoverer A/Ts. The goodyears will possibly end up on one of my trailers but at this point I'm not sure if they're even good enough for that.
What a waste of money these tires are.

Good for commute and light off-road

Have these on my Jeep Cherokee. They have a nice mildly aggressive tread pattern and they have some grip. I took them off roading, climbed some rocks and they did great. Got through some snow up in the mountains and they did great in rain. The only issue I had was out in the prairie the small cactus needles got into the side wall and I had to change one tire. So they are not bullet-proof, hence the light off road.
Road noise is reasonable and the price is darn good.

I have had several sets of these tires and they are relatively dependable tires for the price, they do tend to wear out faster than a more expensive tire. Which I expected for the price. But overall, they did give me a good sence of comfort and dependability. I am currently buying my third set.

Walmart says not for heavy use or over 35PSI

Apparently recent change in policy, hand written sign at tire counter, they are very strict about load rating, and your vehicle must require less than 35PSI inflation. If you are doing heavy towing, this may not work out for you. Call center with vehicle info before planning on this tire.
Other than that, a little bit of road noise with windows down and radio off... quite acceptable. I'm driving a '94 explorer 4x4, 2-door, no towing, very happy with the price and performance so far.

You can't beat this tire for the price, heck, i'm not sure if you can beat it at any price. I have had these on my 4wd nissan truck for 70,000 miles and if it weren't for a couple bad ball joints that I procrastinated on replacing they would still be good. I will buy these again and again until they no longer make them.

I recently mounted these so I can't yet tell you about the mileage expectation of 50,000mi, but that won't take too long since I drive about 1400 miles a month. Feel good, and took a very small amount of weight to balance, that's a good sign! We will see how the wear goes, maybe the next set gets a 5-star rating?
