Fountain looks good BUT is not worth the money, it's very unstable bcuz weights very little and the plug in cable couldnt be more short so it was a hassle to plug it and find a short table to put the fountain on, at the end had to use an extention.... you have to melt the chocolate first so if ur outdoors youll have to bring with you a mini stove, and finally the the stainless stell base which supposed to keep warm the chocolate was not warming enought, so as soon as the chocolate started cooling i had to remove some and warm it in the stove Again to keep it flowing or it will get stuck i can tell you table was a huge mess and i was so stressed. I spend 2 hours of my party trying to make this thing work and it was a big dissapointment. I dont like to rent fountains but next time ill buy something more expensive that actually works. So my advice DONT Buy it! Save urselfs those 30 dlls for a better fountain.

Bought this at Walmart for a College Graduation Brunch. I purchased the chocolate from Sams Club, as it was recommended. I didn't have to add oil. It worked great for what we wanted it for. It holds 2 lbs of chocolate. For 55 people, it recommends that we will need about 7.5 lbs. So, I will add chocolate as needed. For $19, I purchased the unit, had it shipped to the store, no shipping. What a deal! I did a trial run tonight and it works fine! My husband leveled it for me with the adjustable legs. It is user friendly. We had strawberries, blueberries, angel food cake bites and bananas! All were delicious! By the way, the chocolate from Sams Club was so good! It was very creamy! If you are extremely picky, you may not be satisfied with this unit. Im pretty easy going and I love it! I can tell I will be using it alot! P.S. Buy a $1.00 plastic tablecloth to put under the unit for drips! Fold up and throw away! Easy!

I've used the fountain a few times now. It isn't hard to clean. The first layer needs to be a little higher so you can put a little cup under it for dipping fruit, etc. in. The chocolate runs smooth and tastes great, though.

I was never able to get the chocolate thin enough for the corekscrew peice to move the chocolate. It just sort of bubbled at the top. I also expected it to be bigger, but that was my fault. Was catering a party, and ended up dumping the melted chocolate into bowls to be used.

Review 7 for Nostalgia Electrics 2-Tier Chocolate Fondue Fountain, CFF-965
Our nonprofit hosted a Valentine's Day fondue potluck to compliment our newly acquired chocolate fountain. We knew we couldn't afford the rental of a commercial sized fountain so we took a chance and ordered this one online. Although it appears small in stature it is big in performance. Clean up is no fun, but that would be true of anything that spews chocolate out of all levels.

Works pretty well for such a good price. So far so good! Warm your chocolate in the microwave first and then pour it in. Unless you want to wait a very long time for the fountain to flow.

Beautiful but noisy

I purchased this chocolate fountain for my husband's 30th birthday party. It was very easy to assemble and use. It was a hit during the party and was a nice visual to look at. However, it makes a terribly loud noise when in use. It sounded like an old fashioned ice cream maker. Also, the cleanup process was less than favorable. The removable parts weren't an issue, but cleaning out the bowl was more difficult than I thought it would be. It cannot be submerged in water and you can only use a damp sponge on the bowl. It took a while to clean. I would still probably make this purchase again even knowing it is kind of noisy and hard to clean. Everyone who used the chocolate fountain at the party enjoyed themselves.

Review 15 for Nostalgia Electrics 2-Tier Chocolate Fondue Fountain, CFF-965
Bought this for thanksgiving dinner and it was a hit! I asked at my chocolate store and bought chips that did not require me to add oil. I must say I did not get the chocolate to flow perfectly over the edge as it looks in the picture. One thing I didn't see mentioned is that you have to melt the chips before you add them to the fountain. Not sure if this is typical....but it was a little annoying not to just be able to drop the chips into the pot and go.

Very good product, small and practical, I recommend it for small groups of people, the only disadvantage is if group is big you have to refill several times, but perfect for a kids party.

Kids party Favorite

I order this for my daughters 7th Princess party. Read the instructions prior to getting it out of the box. I avoided the whole making my own chocolate and purchased the Belgian Chocolate 2.2 lbs /1kg Cost $15 to $ 17 a 2 pound bag depending on where you get it. I melted it first and let it cool a bit prior to pouring it in the machine.
I found that one bag was plenty with about 3/4 cups left over. I had 9 girls and 10 adults and it made plenty with extra for the brothers to come over and raid the fountain.
Cons: Flimsy and plastics so you need to be gentle with cleaning and setting it up. The cost of chocolate is high. Messy on the floor from dripping/ Glad it was set-up in the kitchen. Keep that in mind. Machine does get kind of loud as the chocolate disappears.
Pros: A blast and kids hovered around it. I used it again for another party. Definitely worth the hassle for me. Smells wonderful Memorable for my daughter and ALL guest.
