Thank heaven for big seats, 10/29/2009
By BrotherBenn, Brooklyn, NY
Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 4 out of 5

I
am heavy and I'm getting older. I was getting to the point where my
weight, arthritis and bad knees were keeping me from even walking well.
I had to do something. I knew that exercise was the key. I wanted an
excercise bike for home, but other exer-bikes I had seen online looked
small uncomfrtable and had tiny seemingly painful seats. In readung the
description on this bike I learned it had a wide comfrotable seat. And
the main selling point for me was that it had the capacity to hold a
person of 300 lbs. I ordered the thing with great expectations. It was
shipped to me promptly. Much sooner than estimated. The assembly was
fairly easy, but you do need another person to help to assemble the
handlebar post and it's internal mechcanism to the main frame. But once
completed, I was off and running. Or off and pedalling. I love it, I
love it, I love it! It works like a dream. I like the recumbent
lean-back style to take the pressure off my back and back side. And the
seat is very comfortable for my large, heavy, wide, African-American
behind. A great value. I recommend it highly. I am pedaling toward
health!

I'd buy it again although I'm not a big guy to begin with and only bought it to supplement my existing 6 day a week work outs. I haven't any complaints and know it is surely aiding with stamina.

Excellent Value, 10/14/2009
By redplato
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

I bought the bike based on the reviews here and from a few other sites and it definitely lives up to my expectations. Everything works as advertised and it definitely provides enough resistance with the 8 levels. To this point, there have been only two gripes: (1) assembly took a little longer than expected due to the tension cable and (2) the wheel produces a strong rubbery smell when in use. Hopefully, with more use, this will go away. These two things are not deal breakers, just something to be aware of. All that being said, you will not find a better recumbent bike at this price point.

9 Months Now and I still LOVE it., 10/12/2009
By JJTCB, Texas
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

I came back to do a second review because I'm so happy with this purchase. It went together in 20 minutes. It's whisper quiet. I am riding up to 40 minutes and I ride at all different resistance levels in addition to weight training. I PUNISH this bike and there have been no problems other than tightening the bolts every 2 weeks or so. (anyone should do this anyway) I've had my bike for about 9 months and I'm just as happy as I was when I reviewed it then.

Wouldn't know how product works as we opened the box and the main part of the bike was damaged. Should have known b/c the box looked kinda rough. Packed it back up and I'm taking it back to Walmart tomorrow.

A Good Way to Exercise Leg Muscles, 09/24/2009
By PollyMarie, Texas
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Very compact and pleasurable riding in front of the TV.
I can hardly walk from arthritis, but I find this bike on the lowest setting a good form of exercise.
I am now walking further because of the benefits I've gotten from pedaling on the bike.

Shipping/product problems, 09/10/2009
By Vindicator, conn
Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 3 out of 5

First bike I received, carton was damaged, didn't even open it.Walmart Cus. Service was great, arranged pick up and replacement. Second bike had small area of peeling paint, and computer doesn't work(changed batteries etc).don't try disconnecting computer cable after assembly , because it's a bear.Assembly itself wasn't difficult but you will need your own tools.Bike itself seems pretty good , I would like the computer , but not the hassle of disassembling. Wasn,t thrilled about area of peeling paint( bike was manufactured 6/08) so it shouldn't be peeling.I hesitate to give this product a higher rating because of paint/computer, will there be any other surprises? Time will tell.Nothing but praise for Wal-Mart cus. service.

Review 10 for Marcy Magnetic Resistance Recumbent Bike

Fabulous Bike!, 09/04/2009
By MsMontaraBeach, Northern California
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

My last bike was an upright bike with a very uncomfortable seat. This bike's seat is well cushioned and comfy. This bike is so quiet that my dog has trouble finding me in the house when I am on it. The gears shift a bit unevenly, but this does not impact the workout. If you are interested in a bike that will give you a great workout and will be a joy to ride, buy this bike.

Review 11 for Marcy Magnetic Resistance Recumbent Bike

Very High Qualilty Product, 09/03/2009
By opksbob, Kansas
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Assembly was not bad at all, aside from using a file to remove a bead of weld preventing the two beams of the base from sliding together. Even with that probably less than an hour and a half of assembly time. Fastening of the computer and cables onto the tower took a little thought, but it went together on the first try. The machine is unexpectedly quiet, and for the three weeks we have had it has performed flawlessly. Little difference is detected between this bike and the doubtless much more expensive machines at the local gym. We are very happy with this purchase, particularly for its relatively modest price, and we recommend it.

Review 12 for Marcy Magnetic Resistance Recumbent Bike

a lot for a little, 08/27/2009
By grampaonearm, Normal, IL
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

I choose the Marcy despite little in the way of reviews due in part to their other sturdy exercise equipment. This bike and it's 8 mechanical resistance settings has proved to be strong, and reliable. I got a lot of bike for the low price I paid. There is quite a bit of assembly required. The only challenging part of the assembly is attaching the resistance adjustment cable. Get help from a mechanic if this operation is to difficult.

Purchased this model after reading many many reviews. I am glad I did. It went together very very easily. Only needed adjustable wrench and a Phillips screwdriver. Family ranges from 5'2" to 6'3" and it adjusts very easily. Stable even with the heaviest family member.

Want a SUPER QUIET bike, this is it.

I was hesitant to buy another stationary bicycle after owning one several years ago, but, after reading the reviews on this one, I decided to try it. It is so much better than the previous one that I definitely recommend it. I am in my late 50's and have no problem using it. Try it; you'll like it!

Review 16 for Marcy Magnetic Resistance Recumbent Bike

good bike for the money, 08/04/2009
By drum601, Los Angeles, CA
Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 4 out of 5

I had this bike from March, and I use it freqently. I'm 250 pound and this bike is sturdy enough for me. Everything works on this bike, absolutly no problems with the bike. I like the display which displays time, speed, distance and calories burned. The seat and back rest are padded and is very confy to sit on. I did encounter one problem putting it together, that is getting the top tentioner cable housing connected to the bracket of the bottom tentioner cable. The upper cable housing would not slip over the top of the bracket that connects both cable together. This is why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. I did finally manage to connect them together, and the rest of the assembly went very smooth. This is a good product, and I would reckomend it anyone.

Just what we needed, 08/03/2009
By backinOC, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

This bicycle was easy to put together with an extra person needed only briefly while connecting the wire to the monitor. The bike is easy for my mom who is over 80 to get on and off independently and she loves the smoothness and quietness of the bike which she is using everyday. Connecting the monitor required an extra step to lengthen the wire with an adjustment(not explained in the directions) but otherwise straightforward.

Exactly What I Needed, 07/29/2009
By Spacecookie2002, Poway, CA
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

This product is exactly what I need to try to get myself back in shape. I get dizzy a lot so I needed something I could sit and work out on. This works out perfect for me. My only issue with it was the assembly. When it came to putting together the resistance wire that part was a bit difficult. Also adjusting the seat isn't that easy to do, but if you are the only one using it then it's not that big of a deal. This product was a great value for the money I spent.

Great Product!, 07/29/2009
By AustiRossi, Jacksonville, FL
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

And a great value. It took my husband and I about 2 hours to put it together and you definitely need a few of your own tools like a wrench to get the bolts nice and tight and maybe a screw driver, but other than that you're good to go. It's very quiet and breaking a sweat is not hard to do. Overall, I gave it 5 stars and would totally recommend it to my friends.

Review 20 for Marcy Magnetic Resistance Recumbent Bike

07/28/2009
By speedslug
Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 3 out of 5

My first store to store purchase and it went very well. Assembly took about an hour and half, taking my time. Hand tighten the various bolts first, then go back and tighten up. The 'bag of bolts and nuts' wasn't as bad as other put together things. It's heavy but not a monster to push around. Only thing is the seat distance adjustment is good if only one setting is used. To go back and forth, like say for two people using the same bike is difficult and labor intense. It uses preset holes and has to be set precisely to screw down the seat bolt, on the floor.
Simple bike to use, just 7 friction settings. No programs or up down hill climbs etc. Nothing fancy, just pedal. No cup holders, tv, or music.
