Prefect tires for light truck, Dodge Ram

When I brought 2003 Dodge Ram as used truck as low 17,000 miles on it. The other brand tires seem worn out, then I purchased four tires while 24,000 miles in my truck. Since till today, I have 54,000 miles on same Goodyear Tracker 2 tires as worn out. So, I went to same Walmart where I purchased the same tires before.
Today, I read all comment and feedback. I don't see any reason why tires got short lifetime to worn out. I don't believe that! Several other comment talk about bad tires. I tested it myself as 54,000 miles on same Goodyear Tracker 2 tires since 24,000 to 78,000 miles as today. Now, other Goodyear Tracker 2 is my second round for this truck and I added four tires for my Chevy Tahoes, also!

First and foremost; these are "light truck tires" ... they are not intended to be installed on a full-size truck. Light truck tires are typically installed on Colorado, Ranger, Tacoma type trucks. Most of the complaints come from folks trying to install them on full-size trucks.
That being said I've installed them on a S-10 Blazer and they are very good tires, they came out of a slushy, snowy, winter and never lost traction. They have good sidewall strength and a nice tread pattern. Properly installed and taken care of there shouldn't be any problem getting at least 40,000 miles from them.

I will purchase my second set of Goodyear Tracker 2 tires next month for our Explorer. Cost, Quality, Performance (over 60,000 miles) and Reliability with the first set on our Yukon have brought me back to this tire. I have checked other brands--- they are close but, do not meet the same standards as the Tracker 2. Good job Walmart and Goodyear for this great product and buy.

We've had these tires on our trailer now for over 5 years and they still have around half tread left, I think we can get 3 more years out of these tires before replacing them. Thanks Goodyear for a good tire.

Not for gravel roads

This tire provideds exceptional traction on wet pavement but the treads are super soft and will not prevent puncture on rough roads. I put these on my Tahoe and have had 2 stone punctures where the entire stone was sticking out of the tread. I have never seen a tire do this before and have lived on gravel roads my entire life. Not what I expected from Goodyear.

That's right - you have a TRUCK

Shouldn't you be using LT tires for a truck instead of P tires? Seems like it would make a huge difference in handling and wear.

I bought 4 tires from Walmart 1 year ago for my Ford Escape. I loved them for the first 4 months. Then they really started to show a lot of wear on them!!! I could not believe they were wearing down so quick. This was just normal driving around town & within about 150 mile radius from time to time. Nothing long distance! I'm married to a mechanic so he rotated them to see if that would help. Nope!! Now I have fabric showing on them. They are not just worn one the sides like from the car being out of line. They are across the tire. So, here I am now, looking for new tires a year later. With things being financially tight, this is not good! So thanks Goodyear! I will not be looking to buy Goodyear again!

I had first bought a set of these tires and got 25,000 miles out of them. They were so slick while it was raining we brought them back to Walmart and was told they would have to prorate them and give us a new set. The 2nd set we just got rid of today. Thank God. We spent over $1000 to get 50,000 miles out of tires. If Uniroyal made this size tire 245 70 17, I would have bought those instead. These tires are terrible, the traction is terrible, they dont last and they arent cheap. You can get BF Goodrich or Bridgestone for 10 bucks more per tire of this size. We bought BF Goodrich this time and they weren't from Walmart.

Lasted only 15,821 miles of easy travel

In November of 2007, four new Tracker 2 tires were purchased from Walmart. Today, September 2012, with only 15,821 miles of easy travel, regular rotation, garage kept and attention to tire care... these tires were SHOT!!!! and replaced. As you can see by the number of years and the miles traveled, this vehicle is not the primary vehicle. It is used gently and at relatively low speeds... seldom exceeding 55 mph. A higher mileage warranty is touted... but totally unrealistic.
Save money and aggravation. Buy a better tire!

I purchased these tires for my 2001 Ford Expedition. I was happy with traction on snow and ice. The tread wears down quicker than I thought it should, (3/32 tread depth at 15,000 miles). I do not like these tires when it rains as they are the worst hydroplaning tire I have ever owned. I have also found that if you have to drive on gravel roads at all you will have flat tires all the time. And as of today with flat #5 we have not been able to get them repaired. If a tire goes flat expect to be replacing the tire. The bad part of this is that if they wear this quick you get prorated even on a road hazard warranty and your replacement tire will cost you $100. The tires are excellently priced for a 17 inch tire, but I think I would have saved money to buy a more expensive tire that would hold up and be repairable. Next time I'll buy the Bridgestones or the Uniroyals.

Purchased 4 months ago. Wet traction is terrible and does not hold the road. Dry traction is not much better and skids easily on dry roads in quick stops. Not a good tire. Should have spent a few more dollars and purchased another tire.

I am getting ready to buy another set of Tracker II tires-this will be my 3rd set-have 249,600 miles on my Chevrolet Tahoe SUV and love these tires. They ride good and are quiet, get about 60,000 miles on a set. I think they are the best buy for the money-not too expensive and good quality. I wouldn't think of buying any other brand or style. Have had the Michelin (expensive) tires and they didn't last or do as well. You don't have to spend a lot of money for good tires!

This tire is rated at a 50K wearout. The wear bars appeared at 30 - 35K. Used on a 1998 F150 2 X 2. I highly recommend the Uniroyal Liberator tire which is what I originally purchased for the truck. Walmarts sells them but were not in stock when I purchased the Goodyear tracker 2.

These tires are great, I bought them to replace my wrangler RTS as a cheap set and found out that they out perform them in wet and icy condtions, i am from UP of michigan and we measure snow in feet, not inches, i found these tires do not perform as well in snow, BUT very good, I haul a 10,000lb car hauler with these tires and no problems, they are on a 1996 1/2 ton chevy with 200000 miles, and they are quiet on the road, i have read some other reviews and cant see any reason for these to get bad reviews except that people are putting them on imports, Maybe they should buy american or buy import tires for there cars.
OVERALL A VERY GOOD TIRE.

I bought a set of these tires for my Saturn Vue and I am very happy. They do very well in rain with very little loss of traction. They do very well in snow as well. The ride is smooth and quiet. This is a good tire so far. I've only put 500 miles on these tires so far but I am very satisfied with my purchase so far. I have always had faith in Goodyear products and this tire just reaffirms my faith.
