I think everyone would agree that whatever can get you to exercise your abdominal muscles is a great device for you. I was looking for something that would allow one to sit in a relaxed position and watch TV while exercising the abdomen. I have an exercise ball which somewhat fits the bill, but I also have small kids who have been known to wreak havoc with the ball in the room, causing harm to themselves and objects in the room. For this reason, the Ab Coremaster works for me. It's stable, built well enough, and I can exercise my abs on & off for 30 minutes while watching a TV program. It does NOT provide wonderful back support (look closely at the photo, the supposed support pads are straight in line and do not conform to the normal curvature of the spine) and is not long enough to support the neck of the average height person. For individuals with lower back pain, an exercise ball is more supportive. I have never used an ab roller, but I imagine that this would be preferred for individuals who require neck support. Bottom line is this device provides decent resistance, but it has limitations and you need to determine what your needs are before spending this much money on an ab exerciser.
