The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Platinum Hit (Xbox 360)

It's hard to explain Oblivion's depth, charm and immersion level in just a few sentences. The game is *huge*; I'm 20 hours in and I've just scratched the surface. And it's not a grind; it is a diverse world with people who have actual schedules (they actually lock their doors and close their shops at night... how unique!) and will act differently towards you depending upon your reputation, friends, enemies and your public actions.

Really, you can't go wrong with this game for $20 or so. I anticipate over 100 hours of use... that's $0.20 an hour or so. Buy it; you won't regret it.

so much to do and its fun. i have almost 70 hours into this game (but i like to do the side quests) and still haven't beatin it yet. very good game. i probably would recomend the "Game of the year edition" though cause it will save you money downloading all the extra downloadable content

This game is undescribable you can do soooooooooo much on it. I am only a level 21 and i am the Arch Mage and it never gets boring. MY PERSONAL FAVORITE GAME!

My kids really enjoy this game. It is definitely for older children though.

Heres the thing the game is great (no doubt about it) but one of the things i was mad about is the fact that it can be kind of stupid, for example how in God's name do they send special information about you (how you look etc...) all over Cryodil (you kill in one town flee and go to another you get gangged-up by like 20 gaurds)? But the other great things crush the bad, you can create your own poison to dispatch of your enemy and you can create your own potions to save your life! You can choose to be good and be with the empire, or you can choose to be bad and side with evil cults (Brotherhood Of Darkness)! You can be a mage, an archer, a warrior, a rouge, anything you want! The amount of things you can do with magic is just beyond jaw-dropping. First-person sword fighting makes for an awesome fight so you can see the enemy move then you can strike him when he is weak! Use telekinesis to throw an object to the side distracting your oponent for when you are trying to sneak past them! Rob a house! Become a vampire! Go on mystical journies! Steal a horse! Close Oblivion gates! Kill Deamons! Use multiple was to outsmart your foe! Enchant your sword, bow, daggar, staff, axe, club, and mace! Become a master theif! Become a renowned wizzard! Make yourself the strongest warrior that ever lived! Rebell against all people! BECOME THE GREATEST THING THAT EVER WAS!

I played Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind on XBOX and could never get into it. The open-ended gameplay gave me so much to do and so little dirction that I never knew what to actually DO in the game. Oblivion's updated Quest Log and Active Quest features give you more direction and map markers, while still letting you play the game how YOU want to play it. I have over 150 hours logged and haven't even touched the main quest.

Oblivion is an exceelent RPG. The game world is huge and offers tons of area to explore. If you have a 360, this game should be in your collection.
