Holmes Cool Mist Tower Humidifier #HM630-U

I purchased this humidifier for work. The box was very damaged from the site to store pick-up. I took it to work anyway to see if the unit was damaged. It wasn't and we haven't had any problems with it. The only semi-bad thing I have to say is that the full tank does not last but only a full day.

We bought this for our bedroom and it works nice. For me, though, it's a little noisy but I have adjusted. You do have to fill it up with water almost every day, though, which is easy to do. We both sleep better and it's not so dry in the bedroom anymore.

Compact attractive design. Indicator for filter replacement and % humidity in room are faulty. Immediately out of the box and after filter saturated with water as required, replace filter indicator shows it will need replacement soon. Although water is replaced 2X/day, humidity indicator is reading the same as prior to purchase and operation. Some purchasers may find filling of tank difficult unless they have a pot filling faucet for the kitchen sink. Tank can be filled using the spray attachment as an alternative.

I've had this humidifer in my bedroom for about a month, now, and it does its job quite well, except for one minor flaw. The digital display for the humidity level has a problem with correctly rolling over to the next significant units. For example, if it displays "39", the next logical reading you'd expect would be "40", right? Well, what happens is that the "3" first jumps to a "4", and you have a sudden "49", instead of "40". It eventually displays "40" and settles down. So, if you're using the AUTOMATIC mode, just be aware of that; it could cause the unit to cycle on and off for awhile, depending upon where you set it. It's otherwise a good unit, but I now only use it in MANUAL mode, running until I shut it off, myself.

Not a bad product overall. Although even on the lowest setting the water evaporates faster than advertised. Does it's job otherwise.

Excellent product, I am using this in my son's small bedroom and it is perfect for it. I am very happy that this is so quiet, since I've tried other smaller humiderifiers and my son would not go to sleep because they were to loud and bubbly.
I would highly recommend this product and reasonable price.

I like this humidifier. It does a wonderful job of keeping moisture in my home. The only drawback for me is having to continuously fill the water tank. At least my husband and I are no longer throwing sparks at each other!!!

The main purpose for buying a humidifier is that at least it creates some humidity in a given space. I can tell you this product does not and the built-in humidstat gives off the incorrect humidity reading of the room.

I have an additional Honeywell humidstat that I used to measure the humidity in my 400 sq ft bedroom. The reading on the Honeywell humidstat and the Holmes Humidifier is correct at 25% when it was first turned on. After 4-5 hours of letting the humidifier run, the reading on the Holmes humidifer jumped to 42% while the reading on my Honeywell humidstat is still ONLY at 26%. That is INCORRECT.

I've tested this for several days and the humidity in my bedroom did NOT exceed 30%. This product clearly does not do what it supposed to. After a week of using the Holmes Humidifier, I will be returning it.

Pros:
- nice appearance, smaller size for small spaces
- quiet
- easy to use digital settings and filter life indicator
- good for the price

Cons:
- water tank lasts ~7hrs if run on highest setting
- tank design makes filling/capping somewhat difficult
- only changes humidity in small, drafty apartment slightly but still noticeable improvement in dryness
