Garmin StreetPilot c340 GPS with Text-to-speech

i love my gps but too times it told me to turn
the worng way

I have had two of these now and both have been returned for the same problems. The units were bought from different places and started to have problems after 2-3 months. They won't stay on. When you turn the units on with the charger in the plug, they units come on and go right back off. What is the deal with these!!!!

We found this product to be extremely easy to use since we have never used a GPS unit before. We especially liked the small amount of instructions enclosed and needed for operation. We did find on a rare occassion the voice directions told us to go in a wrong direction while the picture showed us the correct direction. We asked it to take us to a dunkin donuts and it took us to a Donut Connection instead. A person should never rely 100% on the GPS but overall we were very pleased with this product on our recent trip through 24 different states.

I moved to Wichita, KS a few months ago and still don't know how to find a lot of stores and other businesses. Just put in the address and this will guide you right to the front door. I took a trip to South TX in December and though I knew the basic route, I wasn't sure where certain roads changed, turned off, etc. This unit tells you exactly where you need to be. I was in the far left lane of a five-lane interstate and about a 1/2 mile before, it told me to get in the extreme right lane. Sure enough, the highway I needed exited at the far right. I'd have missed it completely without the navigator. On my way back from TX to KS, however, it tried to route me a different way. Had I not known where I was supposed to be going, it would have routed me well over 100 miles out of the way, but would have gotten me to my destination....just a lot later. This calculates your mileage and the estimated time of arrival at your destination. When you stop for gas, food, whatever, it recalculates your arrival time. I had reservations in a hotel and it took me right to the door, told me I was arriving at my destination right when I was and was the EXACT time of arrival it had calculated. It has a few bugs, but not enough to get me lost or to deter me from using it regularly when needed. This thing is pretty smart. My friends are always wanting to borrow it.

I purchased 4 of these. The first one was a Garmin C330 it worked 1 day. I then purchased a Garmin C550 It worked 2 days then quit. I then purchased a Garmin C340 The first one quit after 1 hour. I was very upset about this, I decided to try one more time & I'm so glad I did!! I purchased one more Garmin C340 & I've had it for almost a year without a problem. I don't know what was wrong with the other 3 but, it is a great little item & I guess the forth time was the charm because It has worked great since I bought it. I have traveled all over Ca & it hasn't failed me yet. I have no problem with a signal at all. I don't use it when I'm at home. I only use it when I go out of town. I recently went to Bodega Bay & it got me there without any problems at all. It took me right to the coast. I just put in Bodega Bay & it got me there. Without it, I would have gotten lost for sure. It also got me home from there. I love this little unit. If you buy it & you have a problem then take it back until you get one that works. They are really nice if you get lost like I do.

This product is essentially plug & play- very easy to use. The voice feature is great and accurate. The ability to find nearby restaurants and gas stations is also very handy. Its my husband's new toy!! This is a must have for any road trip!!

Very Very easy to use and ready to go right out of the box. My first use was in a rural area of Ohio and I was not at all happy with unit because it kept routing in ways that were totally counterintutive. However, later I used it on a golf trip in Orlando and it worked beautifully. I would never have found the golf courses without it! It will certainly get you there, but it may not be the way you are used to traveling. I wish it had capability to program certain routes.

I bought the Garmin C330 and it's wonderful! I live half the time in North Carolina, and half in Indiana, with frequent trips into Chicago. Its never fails!!! NEVER!!! You can count on this machine and its easy usage for all ages. I bought this for my mother who doesn't even know how to turn on a computer and even she agrees it is very easy to use right out of the box. As soon as you get off track due to traffic etc, it navigates you right back on your way. The only time it loses its signal for a second is going through toll booths or tunnels, but quickly finds satellite immediatley after emerging. This is the best GPS i have owned. Also seems to be the most value for the price. Would warn from buying from certain other tech stores though, the same product is MUCH more $$$$$$$$ for the exact same product. My fiance has one and travels cross-country for his job and it has worked in pretty much every big city and small town in the USA.
