My husband and I debated for a few months about what slow cooker to buy. We like gadgets and technology and looked at slow cookers with electronic controls, meat thermometers, etc. After reading review after review we settled on going back to basics and getting this Hamilton Beach cooker and we made the right decision. The price was right and so far everything we've made came out just right. Food was cooked evenly and was tender. The clamps for the lid keep it on tight and is great for travel and the attached spoon is a nice added touch. If you want a slow cooker with a delayed timer, consider getting this one and plug it into a light timer. This cooker works as advertised.

This was the first product I ordered on-line from Walmart. Delivery was fast and the product arrived in great shape. Although I live alone and only bought this slow cooker about 2 weeks ago, this is the third time I'm using it. Started with beef stew (delicious!), moved on to pork chops and sauerkraut (with potatoes and carrots) and have a pot roast cooking now. Absolutely love this economical cooker! Insert is sturdy and easy to clean. Love that the spoon (included) rests on the glass cover.

I like this crock pot in that it is a very attractive unit. The only problem I can even think of, is that the spoon that is supposed to attach to the handle... just as well not have the little cruve for it in the handle. Totally useless and will not stay attached.

This is perfect for someone who, like me, has to carry a crockpot of something EVERYWHERE! Church, potlucks, etc...
The rubber seal on the top is fantastic. I would feel comfortable transporting liquid in it. I love how it clamps down tighly and come with it's own ladle!
I only gave four stars in the features section, because it doesn't have the "smart" buttons. I don't like that type anyway. I like this one just the way it is, but some people may see that as a down side.
The best part about this all is that with 97 cent shipping, it was cheaper to deliver it to my house than buy it at my local Wal-mart.
I highly recommend this...I'm wondering if I don't need two?

I used this for our departmental Christmas lunch. It was easy to carry and held a large amount of food. As with any slow cooker, it takes a couple of hours to get heated up good, especially one this large, so that was expected. The lift-out crockery means I can now soak that to clean it, and the carry handles are a welcome feature. My favorite feature is the sealing lid with locks. I can now bring the cooker to the event already filled with food and lock the lid. No spills and no food smells inside my vehicle! This slow cooker has a warm setting which none of my previous ones had, so that is great for buffet service, so your dish can be kept warm until the last person has been through the buffet line. This thing is awesome, and the stainless exterior is very nice, too. This one is a winner!!!!

Have tried several slow cookers over the past few years, but have given them all away as they cooked too hot, even on low, making me leary about keeping them on when away from the house. This one fits the bill!!! Cooks at the right temperature which allows me to start it up in the morning to have dinner ready when getting home from work without the worry of the food, or the house burning down. Liked it well enough to buy two as presents. Also like the fact I can latch the top for travel - works great, with no leaks. Highly recommend - especially for the price!

I gave this slow-cooker to my daughter for Christmas..she has used her crockpot 5 times in the last couple weeks. She told me that she wanted a large cooker...and is thrilled with this unit.
This slow-cooker is large enough to cook a family size ham, and the secure lid is a must for any traveling dinner.
I had the unit shipped to the Walmart store closest to her home...this was a great ideal.. no standing inline and on her side pickup was easy..no fuss!

I wouldn't recommend this product. It way overcooks food, not what a slow cooker is supposed to do. They seem to have made the heat too high Also, one time the thing actually shut off while I was cooking and my food was cold when I went to check on it. Next time I'm buying a CrockPot.
