This was a birthday gift recommended by my daughter for my grandson. The comments from my daughter were that it was very well thought out. If the problems were too difficult they became less so until the child showed the knowledge needed to advance and vice versa, when too easy they became more challenging. Therefore it was tailored to ability. My grandson always enjoys earning credit or 'dollars' so it was motivational for him. There is also a good variety of types of math activities. All in all it was a good birthday present for my grandson.

My 7 year old played with it on our 2 hr flight. It was challenging for her at times. I wish these games were a little cheaper.

I bought this for my daughter as a end of school year present, so that she could brush up on her math concepts over the summer. She loves it! It is so much fun to play that I've been picking up her leapster and playing some of the games after she has gone to sleep! (Level 3 of the window game is challenging, even for me. You have to get various pieces to fit into a shape by reversing them and turning them.)
This game says that it is for 1st-3rd grades, but level 1 seems to be the perfect challenge for my (Just out of kindergarten) daughter, it is just challenging enough to keep her interested, but not so hard that she gets discouraged. It teaches math concepts in a fun way, and for every "shift" you work in the stores you earn money, which you can use in the "arcade". The arcade games are similar to old Atari games, so they're fun even for grown ups! YAY Leapfrog! You've done it again!

My daughter is homeschooled and rec'd this as a gift. IT IS WONDERFUL. She is learning math through games and just won't put it down. As you learn geometry, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, you're applying the principles to real world situations (ie weighing fish, counting money which is earned to play arcade games, building windows in skyscrapers(tangrams), patterning by putting candy boxes together for customers, etc.). I would HIGHLY recommend this for any kids needing a little extra help applying basic math concepts! I would recommend this for 1st-3rd graders--but, even 4th & 5th graders would find it fun. I'm an adult and I enjoy it!
