Exergen Exergen Temporal Thermometer
The Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer is the perfect thermometer for your family and helps you to take accurate temperatures easily. It is easy to use and safe, which is why it is recommended for the entire family. Since this portable thermometer can capture temperatures with a gentle stroke of forehead, you can use it to measure the temperature of your infant with ease. You just have to stroke it over your childs forehead and it will capture the heat from the temporal artery. This temporal scanner thermometer can take 1000 readings in a single second and selects and displays the most accurate reading to you. The red LED light on the thermometer starts flashing when the correct scan appears and you can read it easily. The Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer is powered by a 9v battery. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this thermometer! I tried using an ear thermometer for my infant and I couldn't get an accurate reading and it was painful to use when she had an ear infection. This one is super easy to use and gives an accurate reading in no time. It's great to use to spot check a fever when the baby is sleeping also. My pediatrician's office has the same one. Highly recommend!

We researched many different types of thermometers when our baby was getting fevers and needed frequent (rectal) temps. The Exergen Temporal thermometer is just as accurate as rectal, but (1) much faster - about 2 seconds, (2) much easier than taking off clothes & diaper, and (3) best of all, baby is comfortable with it and doesn't mind at all. At first I thought it was a little pricey, but it is something we'll use for years and we're glad we spent the money now.

I am a new mom and my sister recommended this to me. Her husband is a paramedic and its all they use in the ambulance. I am very impressed with this and it was well worth the extra money. Glad I did not skimp and buy a cheap one. Some things are not worth saving money on.

This is an accurate thermometer. It's easy to use. My only complaint is that it makes a beeping noise when you hold down the button to take a temp and there is no way to turn this off.

Since my 6 year old was born, we've tried every type of thermometer we could find. They either didn't work, didn't give an accurate temperature or broke right away. I was skeptical about this one and decided to give it a try after reading the reviews. I am SO happy with this thermometer. It's so simple to use - just put it on the forehead, press the button & swipe it across to the hair line & release the button and it reads the temperature. It has been 100% accurate every time. My 6 year old has a problem holding the sensor tight to the forehead without lifting the side up, but who buys a thermometer for a 6 year old to use? My husband and I have no problem holding it flat. We can even use it on our son while he is sleeping. I would've paid three times the amount for this thermometer! It's excellent.

I bought this for my 2 yr old. Kids his age never cooperate for as long as it takes with conventional thermometers. This one takes only a couple of seconds to read the temperature and I am very satisfied with its accuracy. Although pricey (for a thermometer), I still think it is good value.

I purchased this thermometer because of the great reviews it got plus the ease of use. I have four children ages 6 years -10 months and I wanted a thermometer that would be easy to use on all of my children. This thermometer is so inaccurate. I've tried cleaning the sensor and replacing the batteries and nothing has helped. Most of the time I can't even get it to read near a "normal" temp range. Often it will give us a temp around 96 degrees. :-( I am very unhappy with this product. I will be buying an in the ear canal thermometer next as new research says they are most accurate.
