Cosco - Alpha Omega Elite Convertible Car Seat, Smoke

I was very disappointed as soon as I opened the box and realized that the material was see-through and had very little padding. I did not hesitate to return it.

We drive a mid-size SUV and this car seat, in the rear facing position, took up so much room the passenger in the front seat had to sit very close to the dash in an erect position. That means no reclining for a road trip. Part of the problem was that we had to add so many towels under the seat to avoid our son from leaning forward.
I wouldn't recommend this seat for a sedan and frankly, for the money there are better car seats out there. We ended up buying the Evenflow Triumph Advance LX, which although needs an after market headrest for infants (because the one it comes with isn't the greatest), it is far better all around. It offers side seat belt adjustments, instead of at the base of the car seat that is up against the back of the seat backing. It is also more roomy so my son can kick his legs and arms around. To top it all off, the passenger in the front can recline much more than with the Cosco Alpha Omega Elite.

So far, this seems like a very nice seat. However, I did find it a little difficult to install with the LATCH belt, and it was confusing to remove the infant head support. The manual just didn't seem to explain either well.
Now that it is (finally) in the car, we are happy with this car seat.

My 6 month old son had outgrown his baby seat several months ago but we had a very hard time deciding which seat to go with next. After doing a TON of research we decided on this seat because it was rated number one for safety in consumer reports and the price was very reasonable. The only issue is that it does not recline all the way for an infant without a pool noodle to prop it up.

I like the fact that this seat can recline back when my son likes to sleep in the car. I wish that either we had a newer vehicle or that car seats could still accomodate older model vehicles. This particular seat was still pretty easy to get set up in our car. I would recommend this product.

Our 9 month old had outgrown his 1st rear facing carseat so we purchased this one. It was extremely difficult to install in our 06 Honda Civic. It is not sturdy as a rear facing seat. It seems more sturdy forward facing, but our son is not heavy enough for that yet. I would only recommend this product for children old enough to face forward.

Our daughter just turned one and we thought we could turn her forward facing, but have been advised to keep her rear facing until she is 35lbs. She is currently 20lbs...
Love the car seat... It MUST be installed correctly. Please contact your local authorities to make sure your child is safe. Get the seat in tight, that is key!!!

I purchased this car seat beacause I wanted something that would grow with my grand daughter over the years. This car seat is great for all ages beacuse it does many different things in different positions. The only problem I had was making the adjustments necessary to set it up for an infant in the rear facing position. It took several hours to figure it out and then I had to get help. I did not think the instructions were grammy friendly. However we did get it in and now I understand how it works much better. I think overall it is a great seat and a sound investment.

very difficult to set up, instructions not clear, couldn't get it hooked into my 2008 grand prix easily. computer told me no store in area would take the delivery, so I had to pay shipping, but my step daughter had the exact same carseat delivered to her home, The store is 1 and a half miles from my home---disappointed.
