Works as expected. Much better than a swiffer or mop. Does leave some streaking but nothing major. Rated it a 3 for durability. This is typical modern age manufacturing with plastic parts. Odds are it won't last but a couple years. I would still recommend it if you have a lot of wood or tile.

I had an earlier model so I knew it did the job. I have both ceramic tile and laminate floors and this is the best method to clean both. The first model broke apart so I had to replace it. Be as gentle as possible because it is all plastic.

Needed a way for mom to clean the floors easier. Good way to clean tile and the water pickup gets the floor drier faster. Putting it together was a snap even without reading the instructions. Cleaning product left the house smelling wonderful but probably won't use the products all that much due to the expense. Cleans great with just water or water/vinegar mixture to cut the dirt.
With two long-haired dogs and cats, it picks up the hair/fur without clogging but you do need to clean out the suction area after use because of the pet hair sticking. Totally normal.

I was recommended to buy this product from a friend and he was right. It is a great product. I was able to vacuum and clean my floors with one product. I had pre-vacuumed a day or two earlier so I cannot comment on the dry vacuum function of the floormate. Although I have seen from other review the dry vacuum power is not that great but with cleaning and wet pick up the vacuum function worked great. It was a lot of work cleaning my kitchen, great room, and foyers but the results were great. There were a few areas that I had to go over a few times but eventually came clean. It left a beautiful shine on the floors and I can't wait to use it again and get those same results.

The Good: It cleans hard floors well. The small floor attachment works well to get around and underneath obstacles.
The Bad: Grout scrubber attachment is a waste of time. It doesn’t get into corners and the bristles are too soft. Vacuum doesn’t get edges and corners well. You will need to still wash these by hand.
Overall: I like it. It saves time and works better than a mop.

Was very satisfied with the price and performance. It did exactly what I was looking for it to do. Tile floor came out very clean even though it has been sponge mopped regularly there was a lot of dirt in the water. Found that a brush on a long handle cleaned the grout better than the scrubbers on the cleaner. Used the cleaner first to put down the liquid and scrub the tiles then used the handled brush to go over the grout. Then used the cleaner again to pick up the dirty water. Very satisfied with the results.

I loved my Bissell FlipIt and was so sorry when it quit after 5+ years. Started to buy another but since I wanted to use a Walmart gift card, I looked at the FloorMate. Wow! worth the difference in price! It is light and easier to use. Changing the dial is easier than flipping the machine. I love the spinning brushes. The dry vaccum does a good job and the dry setting dries the floor much better than my FlipIt did.
I wasn't sure I wanted the attachments, but glad I got them. They really make it possible to use the machine in my small bathrooms and get all around the toliet. I do wish the attachment hose was a little longer and more pliable.
I use Lysol 4+4 cleaner instead of the Hoover cleaner. Just a capful works much better and is less expensive. Did the same when I had the Flip It.

I was very disappointed when I opened the box and tried to assemble this on Christmas eve only to find out that it was missing the handle...of all things...i immediately put back in box and took to my local store for a refund....I got it online and had delivered so i would not have to fuss with loading in my car....I had previous floor mates and they were wonderful...this was a good deal...like i said....DISAPPOINTED ON CHRISTMAS EVE...

I love tile floors, and this Hoover Floormate is the only way to clean them. We tried mopping them for years - - Too much labor and mopping spreads the dirty water around. Then we bought the Dirt Devil Floor Keeper. It worked fine for a while, but it did not last long. It failed under warranty, and I got a new Dirt Devil. After wearing out 2 Dirt Devils, I decided to pay more and try the Hoover Floormate. I can already see that the Hoover design has improved several weaknesses that the Dirt Devil had. On the plus side, the Hoover has a long cord, brushes scrub well and really clean the floor, and the tank that holds dirty water is large and goes a long time before it requires emptying. On the minus side, the brush-holding mechanism is flimsy and the brushes come loose too easily. It's great for tile floors, but I would never use the Floormate on my wood floor - - Too much water for a wood floor.

Used it on a dirty light-colored tile floor in my kitchen. The floor was very clean to the touch, but the stained-looking areas didn't look clean, except where drops of cleaner had spilled & sat for a while before I noticed & wiped up. (I had also sprayed & let the cleaner solution sit on the worst section for quite a while before scrubbing, with no noticeable difference). I should probably get it professionally cleaned, then use the spinscrub for maintenance. I think it'll be great on my other, less stained floors.

I recently bought this for my mom both as a gift and house warming present. Her new home has all hardwoods so she needed something to make cleaning them easy. It has only been a few weeks so I can not say anything durability wise, however the machine does seem solidly built. She was using those cleaning pads to clean up the floors, and even after that, going over the same areas with the floormate returned murky to black water. She was greatly thrilled with the machine, and i'm glad to have been able to get her such a good gift. I'd recommend it to anyone as a gift or for people who have alot of hard floor spaces. Setup was a breeze and everything is relatively easy to take apart and wash out if desired.

Walmart wouldn't let me caption my review like I wanted, but you know what I mean even through the G-rated one they allowed.
This thing is worth its weight in gold to me. I have about 1,100 feet of tile and wood floor in my house. It can all be cleaned spotless and shining in about an hour - spills and pet accidents, too.
If you're at work all day and the pet has an accident and tracks it all over the house, this thing cleans it right up, no problems at all.
Yes, it is a little bit of work to clean up, but really nowhere near dealing with a cruddy mop and filthy bucket of mop water.
You basically just dump out and rinse out the jar like deal where the water collects (catch basin, I think they call it). You rinse out the filter and reuse it, too.
To me, light years ahead of mop/bucket and all that. Basically the same as vacuuming carpet, but you are mopping your hard floors.
I have had this about 3 months now and used it probably around 20-25 times and I love it.
All the attachments mean you can do things like clean under laundry tub, small bathroom floors and behind toilet, cabinets under sink in kitchen, etc. countless uses for it.
Recommended highly, especially if you can't afford a maid!!!

I heard about this product from my cousin. I didn't believe her when she said call me and tell me how much you love it. I live in a 3000 sq ft home with no carpets. It would take me 4 hours to get the mop out and do it all. I've cut my cleaning time down to 1 hour. This product is really white sock approved. I have used and purchased everything that I could think of to help me. This product is the best thing ever. No more dirty water on the floor. No more getting on my hands and knees to dry my hard wood floors. It cleaned up a coffee spill I could not get out of my unsealed floor. (even though it is not to be used on this type of floor I just used water to see what would happen.) I also have tile floors. You will be amazed at what dirt comes up out of your floors. I use it once a week and I'm still amazed. I believe this would be the best gift for people with back problems and can't bend very easy. It is very light weight (even with water in it) and easy to put together.

I was skeptical about this product, as I had already tried 2 different steam cleaners that didn't clean or dry my wood laminate flooring well. The Hoover cleans beautifully, the cleaner has a nice fresh smell and it really does vacuum up the moisture quickly. My floors look better than when they were new! Oh, and it is very easy to assemble and operate.
