We received our new popcorn maker as a Christmas gift and have used it several times since receiving it. It only produces a small amount of popcorn at one time, however, for a family of three (+the dog) we had plenty. We knew that we'd have to make a couple batches at a time in order for us to all have a nice portion, so expecting that was no big deal (unlike complaints of other reviews). Made for a yummy and fulfilling treat! We love our popcorn maker. Storage of product however could become a little troublesome without a specific place for it. But all in all, excellent product so far!

My daughter works at a movie theatre and I got this for her for Christmas. She made popcorn all day! She just loves it! At first, I couldn't figure out how to put the main piece inside the popper, but once I did, it seemed very elementary. You do need to make sure you clean it after each use because the popcorn can get stuck to the bottom, but it's easy to clean. Just follow the directions.

We found that it did not pop enough popcorn at a time, and you had to fill the tiny kettle several times to get enough popcorn to eat in a sitting. About 4 times as long as throwing a bag in the microwave, which we were trying to get away from. Also, it literally only popped about 1/2 of the kernels. A pain to clean up too. But, it does look fun. It would be okay to use once in a while, at parties or something, I suppose.

While it looks very nostalgic, it didn't perform very well. I have many complaints: About 30% of the kernels were left unpopped. Kernels would stick to the bottom. It took too long to pop enough for a family of 5. It didn't come with a scoop to serve the popcorn. The photo is very misleading on how much popcorn it actually pops in each batch. It says that you can get 10 cups per batch, good luck on that one. The only good thing about this purchase is that I can easily return it. Wal-Mart will take just about anything back. I recommend not to buy it, my family was very disappointed!

I've been working big popcorn machines for years in concession stands and at church, so I'm used to the big heavy duty machines. This little thing works great! I recommend letting it warm up a little longer than the instructions say ... about 10 minutes, before putting the oil and popcorn in. I also recommend using twice the amount of oil it calls for. The package comes with a measure cup for the popcorn and the oil. I use 2 scoops of oil, one scoop of popcorn. I also use the butter oil and butter salt you can get from Sam's. Put the butter salt in the kettle with the popcorn, about 1/8 teaspoon. Taste just like at the movies! There is a tray at the bottom to catch the kernels, but it's just a flat sheet of metal, it does not have holes in it to let them fall through. Yes the door is a little flimsy, but it you treat it with care, there won't be any problems. I love my little machine. 2 batches makes more than enough for 3 people.

The unit functions well as a popcorn maker. The stainless steel parts are well constructed and easy to clean. I did notice a couple of times that a kernel got caught between the stirring wand and inside of the kettle causing the machine to stop. However, it was easy to free up the stirrer with a spoon. The machine is rated for 2 oz. but I was able to use popcorn packages rated for the 6 oz. machine. Cleaning the inside of the unit after use is very easy. However, the plastic door and components are a little flimsy. You have to be careful not to break the plastic latch of the door. The unit looks great and I place it in a finished basement for effect. Overall, the price is great for the unit. You will pay $150 or more for the next step up in machines. One six ounce package of popcorn with the coconut oil definitely feeds four adults with some left over. The interior light is a good feature but I didn't find that it warmed the popcorn all that much. Then again, you'll probably eat it all before you have much of a need to keep the popcorn warm. Overall, it's a decent unit for the price and WalMart makes it easy between shipping and in-store pick-up.

We enjoyed the popcorn machine. Used it for a birthday party that had a circus theme and it kept up fine with lots of kids' demands for popcorn (it holds 3 or 4 batches). It was a little smaller than I expected and somewhat hard to get your hand into the cage to get popcorn without touching the hot kettle. But then it fits nicely on top of the counter so it all worked out in the end.

It would be helpful if they were to include in the instructions that when you first put the popcorn maker together that the kettle would make noise (rattle around), before placing the popcorn inside. I thought that my popcorn maker was broken. Another feature that had me puzzled was that the popcorn was cold the second it fell out of the kettle. I thought that the light bulb would help to keep the popcorn warm, but it did absolutely nothing but provide light. I debating on putting in a higher wattage light bulb to help keep the popcorn warm.

I bought this product for my teenage daughter. She loves it!! It is easy to use. Everyone loves watching the popcorn spill out of the kettle. My pre-purchase research indicated that coconut oil was the trick for movie theater tasting popcorn, and it does work. This is the only oil we have used so far, but probably won't change. Some kernels don't pop, but that is to be expected whenever you make popcorn, even if it's microwave popcorn. This has been a very worthwhile purchase.

I was really hoping to use this product on our family nights, but after using it the first night, I realized that it was way more trouble than it was worth. The mechanism inside that rotates to keep the kernels from burning kept getting kernels underneath it. Because of this, the kernels would burn. Also, about half of the kernels would not pop because they popped out along with the popped corn. Cleaning is tedious. Because of all the issues I had, this will only be a decorative unit. I am going to buy a basic countertop air popper for family nights.
