I bought this cream before I tried the Medela brand in the hospital. Hands down the Medela one is better. I wish I wouldn't have bought the Lansinoh before I had my baby. The Medela one is a lot more soothing and after a few minutes your nipples feel so much better. My baby tends to pull off so my nipple were really sore. The Lansinoh is very thick and sticky compared the Medela brand. Buy the Medela Tender Care... trust me!!

I used this product with my first child and now I am using it again and I am not disappointed. This cream works very well especially in those first couple weeks of breastfeeding when your sensitive. This cream is very thick & sticky and hard to apply. I prefer the Medela brand - it is smoother & easier to apply and very effective. I was only using the Lansinoh, but I haven't used it as much since I bought the Medela because I hate the stickiness, plus it is hard to wash off your fingers.

I'm a first time parent and breastfeeding one at that. I had a very difficult time at first with my daughter breastfeeding. We had problems latching on properly and my nipples were not use to the attacks I should say. At one point they were on the verge of bleeding. I put this stuff on and healed them quickly. Also helps if they are irritated or dry. Even though the product says you can breastfeed with it on. My daughter doesn't seem to really enjoy the taste all that much. But it hasn't stopped her from feeding.

This product was a life saver! I have had alot of pain with the leaking and sticking to my clothes. This product is very thick when it comes out, but softens up very fast with a little heat from your fingers. It last a long time and is great to use before the shower to keep them from getting dry or painful from soap or water. There is not a strong or nice smell, but it is not a horrible smell.

Lansinoh makes great products! Any breastfeeding mom should invest in a tube of this! It really helps with tenderness & keeping my daughter's lips soft. It is very thick, but if you do what the directions suggest, rub it between your finger & thumb before applying, it goes on very easily. I highly recommend for any Mom breastfeeding!

I bought some of this while struggling with breastfeeding my second baby..I was very sore and in tons of pain! I thought at first that this product was very expensive but realized once I started using it that not only was it worth it (it helped me heal and lessened the pain) but it also lasts a long time..I still use it occasionally after 2 months and I still have half a tube...Great product!

I read the below review and have to disagree, I can't smell anything really and it is definitly not unpleasant. I am using it in my last month right now to condition my skin. For those who have never breastfed and want to at least attempt it, do not go to the hospital without a tube of lanolin ointment! This is so helpful with breastfeeding and can help ensure better success.
I breastfed my first child, but my second had problems with latching on correctly the first few months. This severely irritated my nipples everytime I nursed. Applying the ointment before nursing helped to ease the pain and prevented further damage to the skin. Using it throughout the day expediated healing of the skin and helped prevent irritation from excessive moisture in between nursings.
A little is all it takes, so one or two tubes could possibly be all you need, depending on how long you nurse. I used two tubes with my first (nursed 10 months) and three with my second (nursed 18 months). The ointment can leave a light stain on the inside of your bra, so use some kind of nursing pads (another staple for breastfeeding).

I have breastfed 3 children so far and plan on nursing my baby that's due next month but I wouldn't be nearly as excited without this cream. It really takes away the pain associated with nursing. It's a little costly but you won't go through alot of it. It's worth every penny.
