And chances are, it's only going to be a temporary need. Well this gate might not have looks (just grey plastic), but it gets the job done well and easily for a great price. Looks a little complicated, but after the first usage it remembers the pin lock position. So anytime afterwards, to open it you just move the arm up and to secure again move it down. Can't get easier.

This item works if you are on a budget i purchased this because of a none detailed description i did not know the locking mechanism worked like it does it is kind of a wierd lock the item works for what i need it for but i would recomend looking at the item in person before purchasing so you are not suprised like i was (ordered online) but yes the product works fine and is very sturdy i like the item just wish the discription was a little more detailed

This product required set up that was very difficult. The instructions are not clear. However, you get what you pay for. It is working so far to keep our shih tzu, Ru, from getting into off limits areas when we are not home. I would not recommend this product for human children, which is what is was designed for. I would suggest measuring the space to be used prior to purchasing the product.

I didn't expect it to work as well as it does because it was so inexpensive, but it works extremely well for my use. I am using to keep my dog confined. She is about a 30 lb. dog and cannot move the gate once it is in place. Might not be good for a 100 lb. dog but for my needs it is perfect.

got this for a new puppy coming in the house, and while it certainly does keep her from areas i don't like, she thorws herself against it until i pay attention to her. not that this is the gate's fault! for all of the abuse it takes, it still stands pretty sturdy, it is just kind of a pain and hurts your fingers to move the ring that makes the gate tighter. otherwise, great deal!

This is a nice gate. The only minor problem I have is when adjusting between the nocthes, it can be a bit irritating, but I think that happens with every gate.

I use this to keep puppies confined and it is great. Very sturdy and locks in place well. The locking mechanism is a bit tricky tho. Good value for the price paid.

I was very dissappointed with this product when it arrived in the mail. I should have known, seeing how low the price was. It is very cheaply made and will bend when you try to fit it in. And it is not easy to take down and put back up. A major inconvenience. I find myself just climbing over it to avoid having to go through the process of taking it down and putting it back up again. So far, my son is not able to pull it down, but I can imagine it won't last us very long. Do yourself a favor and splurge for the more expensive gate!

I got 2 of these for my 10 month old daughter. For the price these are EXCELENT! She tries to climb them and push them over and they dont budge. The pressure mounts are great and do not damage the walls.

We barely got this gate out of the package and already knew we were going to have to take it back to the store. It was hard to use. It required my husband and I to get it properly installed in the doorway. Not sturdy. I am going to return it today!

I bought this gate to keep my dog from getting into the cat room where I keep their litter boxes & food. So far, it's been great! For the most part it was pretty easy to install(once I figured it out) LOL
Not sure how well it would work for children, but it definitely did the job I bought it for:)
