this bike was well worth the money!!! but when we recieved it, we were missing the brakes. our first trip out the chain poped off twice. and the grears are right... But its a head turner... and i love it

My wife and I are very happy with the bike. We use it almost every day. There was some assembly required, but it isn't any more difficult than assembling a single person bicycle. the chain, gears and basic frame all came pre-assembled. The gears needed a little adjustment but not too bad. I was impressed how well it was packed. One difficulty was, however, that my wife is 5 11 and the back seat is a little crowded for leg room for her. It works well for her but I wouldn't recommend this bike for a women any taller. Overall, I would say an excellent value for the dollar.

My 14 year old son saved his money up for this bike and LOVES it. It was very easy to put together, easy to ride and looks great. The entire family has a blast with it. The quality is super. Oh and the seats are impressive to. It's a must buy for any family looking for that extra fun outside!

My wife and I got this bike few weeks ago and i think its a great bike to get.. The shifting can be tricky may have to adjust it a bit to get it to work right other then that we love it however if you wanna make a long bike ride you want wanna get new seats as these seats that come on it are not the greatest to be on for more then 30 mins..

I got this for a Mothers Day gift for my wife from our "kids" (3 cats and Guide Dog). Was easy to assemble (though most was just common sense there). I suggest picking up the "Bike Tool" when you get the Bike, because ours had allen head screws for most instead of Nuts and Bolts. Only one small problem we had was a defective tube in the front tire. Easy fix there, just a short delay before the first ride. All in all, we're very happy with our Bike. Even had several guests say how nice it looks. Now, if I could just have the energy our Nieces have so we could ride with them.

The Kent tandem bike is a pure joy. It took less than an hour to assemble and adjust. We have been out on it a few times already and really enjoy the ride. Excellent value for the buck!!!!

We didn't have very high expectations, but the bike turned out to be good looking and rides beautifully. The assembly instructions are pathetic and almost worthless. They don't even match the bike. There is one part that I still have no idea what it is or where it goes. Once I managed to get it put together I was impressed and very happy with it. I've only had it out for 4 rides, so I have no idea if it will hold up. Essentially, if you are willing to put the major components of the bike together without any instructions, you should end up with a reasonably good bike at a good price.

If you know a bit how bike works, this bike can be assembled without reading the instructions which I found is not very user friendly. I assemble the whole bike in less than an hour and it runs with no problems. Minor adjustment is needed on the gear shifting part. Overall very good value for the money. The major drawback of this bike is its weight but given the price this is very acceptable.

We've read a few reviews that claimed that this tandem was poorly made with inadequate welds and poor fit and finish. We found this bike to be just the opposite - it is well made, sturdy, excellent welds and a good looking, nicely painted frame, compared to the ugly girder-like construction of many much more expensive tandems.
If I had to cite any deficiencies, I'd list the Owner's Manual, which is adequate, but not complete and not easy to read. Possibly also the Shimano gearing - good, but not as smooth as on more expensive tandems. But hey, this bike cost $248! About 5 - 10% of the cost of an expensive one!
Overall, we're very pleased with our purchase - from the prodect itself to the free shipping, it's an excellent bargain.
The accompanying photos show fenders, rear luggage rail and mirrors that do not come with the base product.

Since my wife doesn't know how to ride a bike (and refuses to learn), our only options was to try a tandem. If you've been looking you will know that they can get really expensive, and i wasn't sure how she would take to riding. So, we opted for this "entry" level tandem. We were not disappointed at all. She can now enjoy our rides with the kids (in the past she had to walk). The enjoyment we've both had is well worth the $$ we spent. Frame is bit heavy but solid. took me about 3 hours assembly from opening of box to maiden voyage. Did not touch any of the Shimano gears (adjustment), did adjust the brakes, seats, handlebar, etc... But again, nothing too difficult. Any bad notes? well i'm not a fan of the white wall tires, so i replaced them with all black, kevlar tires, and while i was there, i replaced the inner tube to flat-deterrent type. I would have appreciated quick releases on the seats and front tire, but those are easily replaceable as well. All in all this bike has surpassed my expectations for the $$ we paid.

My 11 year old son has trouble with balance and has not been able to ride a bike on his own. We've been on four rides so far and have had great outings. Our last ride was on a trail through some woods. The trail was really tame but the wide tires handled the bumps well. I recommend you have wal mart assemble the bike if you get it shipped to the store. The cost for assembly is....... FREE!

This bike really is a wonderful product at a great price! We have had a great time riding so far, and I'm sure the good times will continue. The main downfall with the bike was that a main part needed to put the bike together was not included with the bike. This was very disappointing, however, we had someone helping us put the bike together who is good with bikes and he was ablet o help us obtain the bike part. Also, even with an experienced person putting together our bike, it still took about an hour to an hour and a half to put together. Other than that complication, the bike has been great.

My husband and I decided to purchase a tandem bike after we realized we have two different riding styles: he likes to go fast, and I like to go slow. We aren't huge cycling enthusiasts, so we didn't feel we needed to spend over $500 on a bicycle. This bike was the perfect solution. You can't beat the price and the quality is pretty good.
We also purchased a child seat for our 3-year-old daughter so now it's a whole family affair. Fun fun fun!
One hint if you're not too good at putting things together: have the bike shipped to your local Walmart and ask for their "assembler" to put it together for you. No hassles!

We love our new Kent Tandem Bike. Our bike shop says the bike is worth more than we paid and a good solid product. We are especially happy with many of the features, the most important one for me is being able to sit up straight in the back. We took our bike on a 20 mile maiden run this weekend and so far we do not have one negative. A great bike!

Unfortunately the tandem broke on the second time out. =( I was really happy about getting it and riding it but the chain jumped repeatedly and on one of the chain malfunctions it snapped the chain guard and broke it. I'm pretty bummed about it and it's going to be a pain to get it back to the store. But if you get one that doesn't break then it's great. I had a great fun fun time when it was working.
