The LifeStyle Twin Bed from Step2 features sturdy, double-wall resin construction that won't splinter or break, in attractive muted tones that won't go out of style. Beneath the sleeping platform is a full 28 cubic feet of storage space to ensure a tidy bedroom, while high side rails keep young sleepers secure. Which, of course, means a better night's sleep for children and their parents alike.

Our son loves his new bed... he's about 3 1/2 yrs old and loves the facts he can climb up and down the bed himself. The only thing is that there's no mention in the product description that you need a mattress board. I went to home depot and got a piece of nice plywood for about $30 and that works real well. Overall, really good product.

We bought this bed for our 3 yr old grandson. He loves it! It is high enough off the ground to feel like a fort but close enough to the ground that we don't worry about him jumping off and hurting himself by not using the ladder. It was incredibly easy to put together (we are not handy people). It is sturdy enough for me to climb into bed with him to read a bedtime story. Plenty of storage space beneath the bed. We purchased a piece of MDF from Lowe's (about 25.00), had them cut it to the dimensions specified on the instructions for mattress support, and the bed was complete. great purchase!

I ordered this product for my 22 month old son. We had a hard time getting him out of our bed, but once he saw this bed, he was immediately drawn to it. He now sleeps happily in it. It holds me and him comfortably if he has a bad dream. I am just so in love with the bed. I think it is so neat.

Bought this for my two year old for his "big boy bed". I was nervous about how he would react because he is so used to "routine" he would refuse to sleep in his crib if I changed the sheet to something besides the Spongebob sheet that was normally on it. He is very picky. This bed is great. We set it up and had no problems getting him to sleep in it all night. He looks forward to bedtime now so he can sleep in his new bed. His six year old sister is also very impressed with it. Kids flock to it when they come over to play. Good job on this one!

After many months on contomplating and shopping around for a bed for our 3 year old, we decided on this bed and could not be more pleased. It is very durable and fun. It looks nice in a kids room. I was concerned when reading some reviews, saying that is was not sturdy, and I have to disagree, I think it is very sturdy. My husband, son and all have all slept in the bed...at the same time, and had no problems. Not that I am suggesting that is safe, just saying :o) My son loves his "tent" under the bed and spends time every day playing under there. I also really like that I don't have to worry about my son falling out of bed, LOVE the high sides! We are extremelly happy with our purchase and love the bed!

Bought two of these for my boys -- 2 1/2 & 5 1/2 years. They love the storage underneath, and that they both have the "top bunk" of their own beds. Once we placed a piece of board under the mattresses, we have no problem laying in bed with them.

My son absolutely LOVES his new bed. It's nice because even though the bed is kind of large I can use the under storage area for his toy boxes and extra blankets and things so his room doesn't look so cluttered. The best thing about this bed is there is no way at all of him rolling out of bed in the middle of the night!!

Have had this bed for about a month now. Very sturdy. It says it will take a twin mattress set but for now we are just using the top mattress to keep my grandson below the side bars for safety - as he ages we will add the box springs.
He loves the bed. Crawling under it is great fun and beware - they expect moms, dads, and grandparents to crawl under it also!!
He is less than 2 years old so we do have some comforters down on the sides until he gets used to getting in and out with the ladder.
We are very pleased with this bed and he loves it.

It is very easy to assemble, and the construction is great. My son love it, he loves playing in his room now. It is not very sturdy for an adult to climb on the ladder, but my husband can sleep in it. All the kids say it looks like a tree house, which was what I was hoping for. He has a woodland theme in his room and it is just the perfect bed for it. Clean up is not an issue at all, it is fully made of plastic and wipes clean with ease.

I would have paid double for this bed! I love step 2, our entire backyard is like a step 2 catalog. It took my husband 15 minutes to put this bed together without any help. I will say it's huge so make sure you have a full wall to put it against but my 20 month old son loves this bed! we put a touch light underneath so he can crawl under and play. I was worried that he would crawl out of the bed all the time but the stairs on this bed go straight up without an incline so he'll climb up but he can't see them to go down so he still calls for help when he gets up which is GREAT! the color is great because his room is electric green with a jungle theme and it fits in with the natural colors. it is a little tough to make the opposite side of the bed but i use my sons step stool from the bathroom so i dont have to crawl on. overall an awesome bed that will outlast any piece of furniture in my house! you won't regret this purchase!

We couldn't be happier with our purchase of this bed. My son is a climber and extremely active so I was very worried about his transition into a "big boy bed." The transition has seemed "too easy" with this bed. He likes the high sides and doesn't attempt to get out until we wake him up in the morning. We took all of the other furniture out of his room when he went into a bed, so the storage underneath is also very valuable. This is the first product review I've ever written about because I love this bed so much!!

I am writing this review because reading the reviews here is what helped us to make the decision to purchase this bed. There are many places you can order this bed from on-line, but Walmart has the best deal. By having it delivered to the store we were able to save the cost of shipping. What a deal! Our daughter turns three this month. Although she has yet to climb out of her crib, I am no longer able to lift her in and out of it, so it was time to move up. She tends to not handle transitions well at all so I have researched beds for several months. I knew I wanted something that woud give her that same feeling of security that her crib did while giving her some independence at the same time. Seeing that this bed is enclosed and she can not fall out is perfect, and yet she can climb in and out herself. We picked up the bed 4 days ago. She was right in the middle of it as my husband took it out of the box (we had been talking about it for weeks to get her enthused). She was so excited. To say this bed is easy to put together is an understatement. She actually put the pegs in all of the holes herself as my husband held the pieces together, and then she hammered them all in. She was very proud of her big bed. They had it together in about 20 minutes. The reviews here were SO helpful and right on. I did just as others have said and ordered a twin mattress without a box spring, and ordered the bunkie board. Perfect. It all went together just as planned. She climbed right up and to our absolute surprise she never came out of her room that first night. And although she has been refusing naps for over a month now, she insisted on napping in her new bed today. We are thrilled with this bed and so is she. It has completely met our expectations. Buy the bed, buy the mattress and the bunkie board. You will not be dissapointed.

The bed is very nice and very sturdy. We bought it for our 3 year old daughter. Our other 2 children have captains beds so I knew I wanted under bed storage.
The bed was very easy to put together. I was able to find a bunkie matress so I didn't have to worry about plywood or a bunkie board underneath. It is larger than I thought it would be but is great for our daughter. She cannot fall out and all of her bears are safe. They aren't falling behind the bed like on our other kids beds. The ladder is also nice so there isn't a step stool in the way.
Our daughter got right in and loved it. It is hard to kiss her goodnight if she is laying down and I have to stretch to make the opposite side of the bed (hers is pushed against a wall).
We have pine captains beds for our older kids and they have a lot of dents and scrathes in them. This bed will hold up great. The nice part of this bed is the resale value. I sell a lot of things on the internet and I see these selling for over $100 used. It is always a good feeling to know you will recoup some of the money spent.
I am glad we bought this bed!

WE bought if bed for our Grandson for his 3rd Birthday. He was going from the crib he LOVED to a BIG BOY BED! So this bed was the perfect match! We wanted a bed he would feel secure in and not be afraid to sleep in. HE LOVE it from the moment he saw the pics on the Step2 web site, and could hardly wait for it to get here. The ladder and the under bed storage/crawl through space was a +++ for us. The bed is huge and Grandson LOVES his BIG BED. He sleep in it every night with NO fuss. The bed was very easy to put together; took less than a half hour. The other reviews spoke of ruff sides but not really a big deal...it's made to look and feel like wood and one would expect it to feel realistic. Grandson absolutely loves it...and so do we. Thanks Step2 Great Bed!!!! We are looking forward to many years of peaceful nights. :)

Although the price for this product is a little high, the bed itself is great. My son missed the security of his crib's sides and now he feels secure and special, that he has a fort bed. It has been much easier to get him to bed and to keep him there with the new bed.
