This is my second Lasko tower fan. My first one is a smaller Model #2515 purchased from Walmart in 2003. It has been on in a bedroom almost every night since I purchased it 6 years ago and am using it elsewhere now and still going strong. The new 42" Lasko Wind Curve is much nicer than the old one. Construction is also great, but the woodgrain trim makes this fan very stylish. and all 3 fan speeds are all very quiet. The ionizer seems to keep the room air fresh, so I guess it is working. Another reviewer said the remote only works within a couple of feet. I ran a test with my old batteries in the remote and the operational distance was about 4 feet. I put in brand new batteries in and the distance was more than 30 feet! (May be more but I ran out of house!) This remote rocks with fresh batteries! The old Lasko has a feature on it that this one does not...The natural breeze. This was one feature I will not miss as the fan speed will go high, then gradually lower to almost off, then rev up again over and over. I could never sleep with this feature as I would stay awake anticipating the fans next action. I really think you will love your 42" Lasko Wind Curve. I got mine using Walmarts ship to store at a great price. It is worth waiting for.

Had this fan for a long time and in move dropped it, though it still worked (cannot believe it) it was noisy so I bought this replacement. Will not buy any other brand of fan as this one is quiet, cools excellent and has power. You cannot go wrong with this fan, it might cost more but well worth it and plan on having it for years to come.

lasko fans that i've purchased over the past couple of years were defective. this one was defective out of the box; the original lasko fan we purchased died a slow, annoying death. good grief...we're only tryin' to move air here, folks! wanna bet on whether or not there'll be a fourth lasko in my life?

This fan is fantastic. When I got the tower style, I was worried about how much air it could push out. It actually has the same oomph as a standard floor fan. The ionization feature is what sold me. It works great and makes a noticable fresh. I would definately recommend this product!

a lot more sturdy than the tower fans i've purchased in the past. Rather than a big fan unit sitting on a slender pedestal it is uniform all the way to the base.My grandson often breaks my pedestal fans because the pedestal is so much smaller than the fan unit and base. This one seems superior but i've only had it for two weeks...

I purchased this fan to replace an upright circular fan w/remote that went out. I loved the fan being replaced until I started using this one. It runs quietly and circulates the air remarkably well. The clean air ionizer is just an added bonus.

I've had my first Lasko tower fan for 3 years. I've been so impressed with it that I purchased two more. In the summer, we keep the A/C at 74 degrees and utitilize the tower fan to keep us comfortably cool in whatever room we're using at the time. The air coming out of the fan feels like refrigerated air -- something that I was totally surprised by. I was expecting it to just move air around, but the air coming out of the fan feels very cool. Our bedroom is 14' X 20' and the tower fan is placed in the middle of the room so that it bathes the bed area with cool air. The A/C gets little air to the bedroom, so it's about 6 - 8 degrees warmer than the rest of the house. With the one tower fan, we're able to get the room cool enough to comfortably sleep in. The living room is 18' X20'. Once again, one tower fan, placed in the center of the room, keeps the living room comfortably cool. Our daughter has the 3rd fan in her room and she says it freezes her out in the middle of the night, so she's glad that it has a remote so that she can cut it off without having to get out of bed. I HIGHLY recommend this fan and am surprised by the reviews that says it doesn't cool all that well. It makes me wonder why they aren't pleased. Everyone that I've recommended these to (and they've bought one) has said that they are amazed how much it can cool the room down.

I bought this on some of the reviews here stating it was very quiet. IT IS NOT QUIET. Even at its lowest setting of 1, the fan motor is very audible. I wanted to use this in my bedroom during the hot summer nights, but the whine from the motor kept me from sleeping. Other than that it works fine if I use it in the living room during the day while watching tv. At its highest setting of 3 it will pummel you with wind and accompanying noise.

This fan is mediocre. It looks better than expected but performance was under par. I understand tower fan has lower output compare to traditional fans but this was fairly weak. I purchased a plain silver 42" Lasko tower fan prior to this purchase and was decently satisfied. I wanted something with more features like the ion and the diverter of the wind going up or down. The diverter doesnt really divert the wind much at all it was poorly designed as simple as it is.

I had just moved into a new apartment when i purchased this fan. And seeing as at first I was slowly dying from the summer heat, when my fan made it to my place I was very grateful. I have an average size room and it definitely makes a difference. I even get cold on some nights! The fan is pretty tall so it reaches a good amount of space. Plus it comes with a remote. That is pretty fantastic when you're feeling lazy! I definitely recommend this product if you have an average size room or smaller.

Very nice fan that takes up little space. Air output is better than expected with 3 speeds. The two wind settings produce a varying flow of air rather than constant speed. There are settings for oscillation, ionizer and timed shut off. There is a space to store the remote when it isn't being used. A small amount of Assembly is required to attach base only a screwdriver is required
