I had this vacuum for two years and it was wonderful. Sadly, after being used once a day for that period of time the frame had weakened. First, the small plastic clasp holding the clear front on snapped off. Tape fixed that. Then the vacuum started to make a strange noise when it was being used suddenly. When I tried to switch it off by the handle, the entire handle snapped off in my hand, including the mechanism that turns the vacuum on and off. As much as a handy man my husband is, he took one look at it, and said buy a new one. It was great while I had it though, great suction and the cord was long enough I could do quite a few rooms without having to find a new outlet. The only drawback I found was it was a bit heavy.

The sucking power on this machine is more then I expected. I am thrilled with this machine. I just got it for Christmas and have never gotten my carpets this clean. Each time I vacuum I'm picking up more and more dirt and dog hairs...OMG didn't realize my carpets were this dirty!! Love the machine

I purchased this vacuum about 4 years ago. It has been the best vacuum I have ever owned which is why I was so surprised when I read so many negative reviews.
The vacuum is a bit heavy, and it tends to pull you around after it, but I think it's a fair trade off for what it sucks out of my carpet! I couldn't believe all the dust it took out! (I couldn't believe we were living with all that filth!!!) I have only had to replace the belt one time, and while emptying and cleaning the filter can get a bit dirty, I'm not complaining. Reason dictates that if dust and dirt don't come out of a machine all bagged up, it's gonna' be a bit hard to contain! But I've found that if you take the filter out (the cylinder shaped one) and put it inside a plastic bag then gently tap the end on the ground, most of what is stuck comes off in the bag and makes less mess.
The screen that separates the dirt canister from the filter canister tends to clog with lint and dust after a while, but if you pop it out, run it under warm water and scrub it lightly with a plastic brush (maybe a drop or 2 of soap) then rinse well it comes very clean. You don't even have to do that very often! Just make sure to let it dry well before you put it back in the canister or you'll make mud!!!
I love the attatchments, and yes you do lose a bit of suction when you add the extension hose and such, but no big deal to me. It wasn't enough to make me toss the vacuum in the trash. I empty the canister when it's about halfway full, and I don't have any problems in general with suction.

We went into this purchase with open eyes. We didn't want to spend the kind of money needed for a Dyson, Orick, etc. We wanted more than a vacuum for Christmas. ;)
For what we paid for this vacuum, we think it rocks. Our old vacuum was starting to show its age, wasn't picking up as well as it needed to, etc. We moved it upstairs for the kids to use on their rooms and got this one for the highly trafficked downstairs. It works great. Using the extension could stand to have a bit more suction, but the vacuum part itself is wonderful.
Some of the complaints we read on this one were that it had flimsy plastic parts. While it does have plastic parts, and won't stand up to abuse like other higher-end models...we don't plan on running ours through any obstacle courses.

I have a large family so, consequently, our vacuums get alot of use. This vacuum, by far, is the worst one I've ever owned. We've had it for over a year...It broke the VERY FIRST TIME I used it, makes a terrible noise, stinks like burning rubber (or sometimes like a dirty filter), and loses suction within about 10 minutes of emptying the canister. The filter, which clogs very rapidly, is expensive and needs to be replaced often. I haven't yet owned a Dyson because of the price. But maybe it'll be cheaper in the long run, if I don't have to keep buying vacuums every year or so!

i have had mine for 5 years now and i have never had to change the filters for it or anythign and it still works jsut as good as it did the day i baught it this is by far one of the best machines i have had and love it it does a great job on my floors i have 3 very active kids and 2 dogs and it gets everything they drag in and lose up off my floor

This vacuum is junk!!! it worked great fr the first 6 months then died... The filters cost $30.00 and you need to change them every 3 months. And the hose never works. The dirt sensing lights never work.. And now there are screws falling out it.

MY HUSBAND BOUGHT THE HOOVER BAGLESS WIND TUNNEL AND THE FIRST THING I SAID WAS THAT I DIDN'T LIKE IT. WHEN THE "BAGLESS" VACUUMS BECAME THE LATEST "TREND" IN VACS I THOUGHT THE VACUUM INDUSTRY HAD GONE NUTS. THERE IS NOTHING CLEAN ABOUT REMOVING THE CYLINDER FULL OF DUST & DIRT AND EMPTYING IT INTO A TRASH BAG, AS THE DUST/DIRT FILLS THE AIR, AND THE HOOVER BAGLESS WINDTUNNEL REALLY SPREAD IT. OUR ALLERGIES FLARE UP LIKE CRAZY(EVEN EMPTYING IT OUTSIDE)! THE CANISTER IS ALWAYS FILTHY, UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASH IT OUT EACH TIME. USING A BAG IS SO EASY. REMOVE BAG, PUT IN TRASH, REAPPLY NEW BAG. NO MUSS NO FUSS. AND IF THEY MAKE A WELL BUILT VACUUM, THE ONES WITH A BAG SHOULD CLEAN AS WELL AS THESE CYCLONICS/WIND TUNNELS. THIS UNIT STARTED OUT WITH GREAT SUCTION AND DID CLEAN WELL FOR A WHILE.(EXCEPT FOR THE DIRT AND DUST FROM EMPTYING THE CANISTER); BUT IN LESS THAN A YEAR, THIS 12 AMP WIND TUNNEL LOST ITS SUCTION POWER, EVEN AFTER REPLACING FILTERS, AND MAINTAINING UNIT. I have a had this vacuum for about 2 years. It is a piece of junk! The lever to adjust for carpet height broke off, the lever to empty the canister is cheap and doesn't fully close, the suction is nominal even when filters are clean, the electric cord is cracking and when I pull back when vacuuming the machine literally turns off. I have contacted Hoover and been told I can purchase repair/replacement parts. I will just buy a new vacuum and it won't be a Hoover.

Love it!!! It sucks up the dirt, you can see what it sucks up, yikes, but it serves to remind one that dirt accumulates so quickly. I especially like the clean or dirty light. I find this product to be very sturdy and stands up to all the abuse I give it. The only thing that wore out on my last one was the cord was fraying in several spots, but that may have been due to my carelessness. Running over it too many times, I don't know, maybe.....

The reason I don't like it is that it is bagless. It is very messy (read dusty) when you dump it out and brush off the main filter. It is made of a metal screen that clean pretty well with a dry toothbrush (or other hard bristle), but I felt like it just re-distributed dust that I just worked hard to clean up. Dirt finder feature is suspect. I could run it over the same spot once and it would say clean. 5 minutes later the light was on saying that it was dirty.
I did like: That it sucked dirt well. New belts are free - you send in a postcard and they send a new belt. I usually kept a spare and when I put the spare in, requested the new one. Very long cord. Quite a few attachments that are very easy to access- my new one did not come with the powered handheld attachment and I have been using the bagless one with mine. It's a high-end Hoover. That's quality, as you know.

We went online to read reviews and then went down to walmart only to find that the one that we had read reviews on wasn't in the store. So while down there we just gambled and chose this one. I'm glad I didn't read the reviews on this one first or I may not have bought it. Originally we have a little cheap dirt devil and it does ok but it doesn't seem to pick up the dirt quite as well as I was hoping. Well it was just as I expected the dirt devil wasn't doing it's job. I had JUST vacuumed our living room before picking up the Hoover. We got home and my husband vacuumed the floor again with the HOOVER and it picked up a whole canister of DIRT!!!! I vacuum A LOT so I was AMAZED at how much came up!!! I then ran upstairs to use it on my kids rooms that were just vacuumed and got another whole canister!! I know it may not be the quietest vacuum but it's just average on sound. I LOVE that it gets the floor clean. Clean is even more important to me than sound. We also have a Hoover steam cleaner and love it also that is why we chose the hoover vacuum as well. We just had our house built last year and our carpets looked awful. After vacuuming with this they look new again!! We also hava a cat and I tested it on the couch where she lays and it sucked all the cat hair up :). So far i'm definately pleased. I hope this helps others shopping.

This vaccuum is a piece of plastic junk. The chamber that catches the dirt from the carpet is emptied by pushing a button on the back of the chamber and bottom is supposed to open up so the dirt falls out the bottom. The first time I tried to empty it, the bottom fell out all by itself and I had to clean it up. After that, I couldn't get the bottom to open at all. I bought this to replace another useless Hoover vaccuum that quit working after a few months (Hoover Tempo). I didn't have any suction problems with this vaccuum but obviously it's a huge inconvenience to have to pry open the chamber every time you need to empty it. I ended up returning mine, and I'm looking into other brands. I have been through three hoover vaccuums in the past two years!
