I bought one for my spouse two years ago. We both shared its use. It is very accurate and dependable. We've been all across the country and haven't had a problem with it yet. I loved it so much I stood in a very long line today at Walmart to purchase me and my father one.

I would NOT recommend this unit; because first of all; it doesn't have an on/off button. Therefore, you cannot take the unit inside your house to program it. It didnt have trip planner like the magellan does. it allows me (w/trip planner) to enter over 15 yard sales so I can continue my trip from one address to another. when you turn ur car off to get out for few minutes; the garmin automatically shuts off. magellen doesnt! Also, if i have to go to several diff. addresses i have to continously on each trip put in city & state even though its same city/state. annoying? u bet! the only thing i liked about the garmin was it had a cradle to take unit in/out of. whereas, magellen doesnt n its bit hard to remove from windshield. otherwise, i luv my magellan. finds gas stations, restaurants, etc... battery lasts long time w/o being plugged into car unit. thin enuf to put in my pocket. also, garmin was hard to enter name of city as i had to press the screen hard; whereas magellen u just tap it. good luck guys. great gift overall to have. depends on what/where u use it for. us? mostly yard sales. n it holds over 100 addresses.

I have owned this product for 4 months. I use it everyday both local and on the road. At this price...the maps are 1 1/2 years old. If you call garmin and complain, they will sell you the 2008 maps for half price of retail. Overall, I do not know how I got along without GPS. This product has more graphics than TOM-TOM. It is not as good as Magellen...but a lot cheeper. For your money, even without the new maps, its worth every penny.

This is a great GPS but about 2 weeks in, we blew a fuse in the car adapter and it no longer worked. Our update disc was also cracked so that didn't work either. We'll see how long the second one lasts us.

problem with windshield mount suction cup,

This unit works very well, however the rubber suction cup melted to the window and had to be cut off after being attached to the window for only one day. It actually vulcanized to the window and had to be cut off with a razor blade. It is no longer usable. I purchased a friction unit dash mount and it works. Also, the unit will ask you to turn right or left on occasion when there is no road to turn left on. Example: proceeding west on route 20 (Michigan, Newago county); at the intersection of rt . 20 and Green Avenue the unit says to turn left(South), when you should actually turn right when heading west on rt. 20 and needing to turn north onto Green Ave. to arrive at house number input into "Favorites".

I saw someone ask if this was SD compatible on another site and the answer is YES,. I purchased a 340 and it took me from PA to an exact adress in TN. the voice telling you a street name is a very nice feature. This feature alone is worth the extra money. Have to say Garmin is by far a better gadget than others. If I had to go with a cheaper model, Go MIO, yet it is untested.

This is a great product, and good on your wallet or purse. I was in an accident in march, cause I was lost and paniced a little, so I stopped driving to places I didnt know. Well when I bought my new car in october, I bought one of these, and now I go anywhere I want, and not feel worried when I leave the house. Ive had it for a month, and it still works the same it did the first day I bought it. Only problem, I bought it for $248.00, but you can buy it now for $168.00. Still, it is not a full replacement, you still need to use ur common sense at all times. Other than that, you have to BUY ONE OF THESE BABYS!!!!!!!!!!!

I purchased this product a year ago for my daughter. She has no sense of direction and was driving long distances for her job, visiting friends etc. She even took it to Colorado for a ski week. We live in NY. It was great!!! Easy to use, no problems getting from anywhere. It even gives you gas stations, places to eat and re calculates when you make the wrong turn to get you back on track. I purchased one for my husband 6 months ago, that is where my daughter gets her poor direction gene. He uses it constantly. Really worth the money. Now I am getting one for my son at college since he has to do student teaching and needs to drive to schools that he is not familiar with. He is sure to get to class on time with this gaget. I highly recommend it. I have friends that bought other brands and they have had to send them back to the manufactures to have them repaired already.

Going places with my wife used to create a multitude of arguements. Until I purchased this GPS unit, which is very easy to use and also locates gas and food that are nearby. Which is great when out of town because it saves time and makes a road trip much more enjoyable. So if you want to go on a trip with the wife or husband and don't care for the arguing about missed turns etc. then buy this product.

I bought this about 6 months ago and use it every day. I use it even when I know the way just so I can play with it. It's one of my coolest toys. I love it. It's so easy to use. I use to depend on Mapquest and everyone knows how they sometimes don't tell you everything. Now I punch in the address I'm looking for and in a couple of seconds it's on the screen.

Net. I recently bought two Garmin C330 devices. The second I bought as a gift. I loved them UNTIL I found out that the memory installed in the C330 is too small to support a complete map upgrade. The next complete map release from Garmin will not fit in the C330, and no, they never told any one that. You will have to decide whether you want USA or Canada maps, not both, as you now have on a new C330. On top of that, you will pay $75.00 for the new map which you cannot fully use. DO NOT BUY this unit. - If you dont wish to buy from TomTom - and are willing to trust Garmin - then buy the Garmin C340 unit. For the few dollars more, it has more internal memory AND the same $75 map upgrade for the C330 is FREE with the C340! Talk about insult to injury. - BUY THE C340, if you must buy a Garmin. Check the Garmin web site for proof of all that I have written here.
