Omron Portable Body Fat Analyzer

I've had this product for about 4.5years and it works great. I still have the original batteries. It is constructed well and is very accurate. It's simple to use once you get use too the interface. Just be sure you use it before you go work out or your results will be messed up. I highly recommend this product to anyone who is serious about monitoring their body fat either for weight loss, Maintaining proper body fat for runners, triathletes or bodybuilders. I use it monthly to make sure I'm STEADILY losing body-fat and while building muscle. I chart it on my notebook. Remember when one loses body-fat steadily( .5 - 1lb a week averaged over quarter) it is much better and more stable then losing a bunch of weight in a short period of time. Your body will think that it is always at the perfect weight and not think that it is starving.

I purchased this item to help me keep track of my process while dieting. I've found that knowing an approximate bodyfat percentage really helps while getting fit. For example: I have recently picked up weightlifting, and my weight loss has slowed. Through reviewing the change in my bodyfat percentage, though, I realized that I put on 2 lbs of muscle.

This is a great product if you realize that the numbers aren't EXACT....they are very close, but you need to watch for a trend (dropping .2% a week for several weeks at a time, etc.)

This product is the same as the one my personal trainer uses and it is great! The ability to select Normal or Athlete is invaluable as not all bodies are made equal and not everyone has the same workout habits.

It measures the body fat percentage and helps you understand that you are becoming healthier even if the scale is not moving.

Much easier than pinching with calipers but a bit difficult to use -- you can get different readings based on how you hold the device. It is important that hands be placed high on the device so your thumbs are on the top. Once you get the hang of it, however, a good device.

Only had this product about a week so far. Seems to be doing the job I got it for great. Let's hope it continues. Very easy and quick.

The Omron Body Fat Analyzer will do the job, returning a body fat number after running through a relatively straightforward procedure that includes entering in your height, weight, activity, etc.

The unit itself feels a little light weight, perhaps even on the flimsy side - but we've had no problems related to this perception. I understand that in order to reach the low selling price it couldn't really be a behemoth - but I"m kind of clumsy and I always worry that I will damage fragile things.

The number returned was in keeping with another electronic fat analyzer I own, one of those scales that gives weight, body fat and water %. There seems to be a LOT of variability in the numbers returned by both units and I suspect that the condition of your hands (or feet in the case of the scale) in terms of how damp they are has a LOT to do with this variability. The humidity in the air, the use (or non-use) of moisturizing lotions and the like seem to cause the numbers to jump by a percentage point or two.

The only real way to see changes in body fat is to use them on a daily basis, disregarding any particular day's results and instead looking for trends for the week or month.

That, and trying to keep your hands just as dry one day as they are the next!

This is a fine product that I have seen used in Health Clubs. It provides a very accurate indication of Body Fax % and allows you to constantly monitor your weight loss efforts. I highly recommend. Oh and the price is practically unbeatable.

This product is very easy to use, very quick setup. It's possible to set up for multiple users which can be very helpful. Seems to be good quality for the price. I haven't used the product for very long, so I can't comment on long-term quality, but it seems to be reasonably well made. Based on other tests performed it seems accurate. I definitely recommend this product for someone looking to monitor true body fat loss as opposed to simply weight loss.
