Sunbeam Programmable Breadmaker, 5891

Works great, really delicious bread that's easy to make and you can't beat the price of this breadmaker. Note though, that our first try didn't come out well at all and we found out from the manual that you can't plug this into a circuit where an appliance that uses a lot of electricity, like a microwave, is plugged in. It needs to be plugged in on its own or it doesn't get enough electricity to heat properly. Once we moved ours away from the microwave, it worked beautifully!

I am very happy with this breadmaker. It is cheap, but boy does it make delicious loaf of bread! I highly recommend it. I tried making both white bread and whole wheat bread and both turned out great. I also like its Timer feature that lets me bake a loaf overnight and have it ready in the morning when my family wakes up to an inviting and warm smell of fresh home-made bread. Buy it, you will not regret it!

For the price, it works. It had a nice small footprint and doesn't take up the entire counter. The top of the bread tends to collapse, but the bread is still good and eatable. The machine shakes and makes a lot of noise. Getting the mixing paddle is a chore. I had to get help to get it out. Considering the cost, it is okay. It definitely isn't a high end machine. It just works.

Great bread maker with various recipes.

I did a lot of homework on the subject of bread makers. I chose this product because of the price and the good reviews. I certainly agree with others who think this bread maker is great. It is relatively easy to operate even for a technically challenged person like myself.
I have had the machine for a short while and am making an average of 4-5 loaves per week. They taste, look and smell terrific. I have only used bread mixes so far. I plan to try some of the recipes in the manual soon. I don't think store bought bread will cut it for me any more. Should have purchased it sooner.

Up to this point have only made "Express Bread", which only takes an hour; Makes small loaf which is more than enough for a two people for two meals; Instructions are worded in easy to follow steps; Many bread options, although most take several hours from start to finish; Bread maker is rather large as are most, and will take up considerable room in storage area.

I have been using this product regularly for only 7 months and the paddle is permanently stuck. I have tried everything (boiling water, plyers, etc) and its not budging. I mostly only use it for the dough setting and rinse it right afterwards, but I see others complain of the same problem. The paddle is increasingly harder to turn and the machine is having a problem turning it fast enough now.

Also, there is an issue with how well the flour is kneaded into the dough, often times there will be chunks of unmixed flour on the dough.

When you do bake the bread in the machine, it is not bread fit for company. It is not attractive and not really tasty either. The crust is often overdone and thick.

*Ultimately, while you may be tempted by the low price of this product, it does not last and is not worth it. Spend a few more dollars to get a more reliable unit.

All I have to say is if you like homemade bread, you'll love this product. There is no work involved and the bread is fantastic. ENJOY
