LeapFrog Leapster Learning System, Pink

i got this for my 5 year old girl before we traveled by van to Minnesota (in vehicle 5 hours at a time). It did an excellent job of keeping her occupied. I also bought the charger. I think it is probably necessary.

My husband and I were hesitant at first to buy this for our 3 year old. I did not want her to have her head in a screen and not be active. After looking at the games and seeing her progress, I am highly impressed. The pet pal game has her tracing letters on the screen, the animal genius has her already knowing about mammals and habitats. We have a time limit and she earns time by putting away her toys and cleaning up. This works great. We are planning on getting her the case and a few more games for her 4th birthday this weekend.
Great product...wonderful for long car rides as well!

My daughter hasn't put it down! She also likes the creature create. (very cute) we will also be getting the docking station for it. I can see we will be needing it.

I bought this for my daughter last year when she was 3. Her big brother got a DS Lite so we decided this would be more age approprite for her. I read all the reviews from lots of diffrent web sites. I felt like it was worth the risk I would take, it seemed like it was mostly a good toy with some people getting a dud here and there. She loves it and loves the games we got for it. A few months ago the screen went black and I thought, here it goes we got one of the duds. My husband messed with it a little and realized that my daughter actually ended up turing the screen brightness all the way down. I was glad to know it just didn't quit working like that. After a year or so of playing with it the screen was not responding to the pen in certin areas, like the middle of it. I read how to calibrate the screen and tried that thinking that would fix the problem. To calibrate the screen you go to the home screen with out the cartridge and press the home, hint and B button all at the same time then press A and start calibrating. To are supposed to touch the pen in the center of the circles that appear on the screen. This worked fine on the circles that appeared in all four corners, but when the last circle appeared in the center I got no response. I e-mailed Leapster and am now waiting for a response. My daughter still plays with it but gets VERY frustrated when it dosen't work right. I would recommend this product if you are ok with maybe having to replace it someday.

My daughter loves this product! We've had it for a couple of weeks and it's great! Even my 8 year old son likes it! We also bought a few games to go with it. It's great in the car too. I like it because it's educational not just video games, she likes it because it's awesome fun!

I bought this for my son when he was 2 and a half for Christmas and he is now turning 6. At first he played the letter games only and loved every minute of it. We have taken it on many car rides, plane trips, road trips, camp outs, you name it and the Leapster has been there. I love this product over other "gaming" systems because they are learning and you can't beat that!
If you purchace it I would highly reccomend buying the rechargeable system that you can buy seperate. what a battery saver!

I bought this toy for my 3 year old daughter. I was worried at first that she wouldn't be able to catch on to the games being that she is only 3, however, she learned all her alphabet sounds and also learned to recognize her letters all within a week of having this toy. This is also a very tough toy. She has dropped it on the cement more then once and it has never messed up. She loves this toy! I would recommend this toy to any child, no matter the age. It's brilliant!

The product is good, the kids love playing it. The downfalls I found were I did not know this version did not work with the charger so I have to keep batteries stocked up and not as large of a variety of games as the VSmile, but it works well and keeps the kids (4 and 6) entertained.

I bought one for my daughter and one for my son and I can say that it has been the best money spent on a toy! They have so much fun with them, even though they "forget" to put them away in the Leapster storage case and I find them all over the house. My son, who is 3, has totally impressed us with his ability to play the games and he's learning in the process. This uses batteries which lasts about 12 hours, I'd say, but you can also use an AC adapter, which we do sometimes.

We had this shipped site-to-store with no problems. The only issue I had was when I was adding them to my cart online, I could only select the pink color. So when it came to the store, I had two pink Leapsters. I traded a pink for a green one they had in the store. Other than that, an excellent purchase!
