It is awsome and Iam still learning how to use it I know I will need a new one in about 6 months that has a larger embrooidery window. I like to embroidery on a large scale, the one I have now is for a beginner, I am teaching my self a lot of new techiques, thank you for helping me to fine and a chance to learn more. grannygirl.

This machine is great. My last machine was very old and very basic. This machine has great features that I never knew sewing/embroidery machines could even do. The touch screen is very simple to use. I had no problems figuring out the thread cassette. I did have a problem winding my first bobbin, however, I discovered I put the spool cap on too loosely. I must say the bobbin winding portion is a bit odd, but does work great. I would definitely recommend this machine.

I had bought this sewing machine for my 21st birthday and I can't properly give praise over a review. This is not the type of machine you would want if you are just learning to sew. There are a lot of new features that the older generations (no offense) may not get a hang of right away and will need to use the manual. I bought the card and pay little to download design from websites that I use for my niece and nephew. I also make sorority shirts for my local sorority. Instead of paying $40-50 per shirt if made at a shop, I can make them for about 1/3 of the price. I recently broke my touch screen moving to a new apt. after college and the associates at the store were so kind to me. My sewing machine was fixed within a few days and working like new again. This sewing machine is more of an investment than just something to keep in the closet because one day you might pull it out. There are endless possibilities.

I have wanted an embroidery machine for some time now, but previously they were just too expensive...but with this machine, it is now affordable...and it is a great product! If you read the previous reviews, they all made mention to read the manual...I would completely agree...but it is very easy to learn, and there is a CD, with some limited video instruction as well...I was able to set it up, become familiar with the features, and begin embroidering very quickly...I've already made quite a few items, including towels...You can also purchase the PED-Basic, so you can download designs from the internet...I bought that too, and recommend it...Great machine and a great price!

The machine sews great but you need to make sure it is threaded correctly . Or its a jungle of tangled thread . The embroidery part is tricky especially for a begginer like my self.

I recently brought this as a birthday gift for myself, I have always wanted to own my own embroidery machine and not have to constently borrow friends machines. I read alot of reviews about this machine and it seemed good. I am not a novice, just most of sewing is unually garment construction and embroidery is a side field that I would like to do more of, hense the machine change. I was very excited when it arrived, carefully unpacked the machine, sat down with book and read. After reading the whole book, I felt safe to try it. After all its a computer and I didnt want to mess it up. Quickstart guide: Wind bobbin... did that fine, very fast, it was looking good. Next, loading the cassette, ok cassette loaded with thread and the cassette wouldnt go in. Light was green. Called Brother directly, they said it would have to be looked at professionally as they couldnt trouble shoot over the phone. I was told the nearest person I had to take it to was over 100 miles away and I would have to pay then be reinbursed. I sent the machine back and am waiting delivery of another Brother machine, a Innovis-900D. After speaking with many 'professionals' in the sewing world whose life and careers are in sewing machines, they pretty much told me I had made the right decision to return it. The cassette is a bad design flaw on the machine and it often fails. They also made the point to notice that Brother is no longer making the Cassette feature and going back to the traditional threading method, which honestly seems easier than what the cassette should have been if it worked. I am sticking with the brother name, it is a name I know and trust and like I was told by others that this machine, with the cassette was just a design flaw that they are getting rid of through discontinued manufacturing.

This machine is great. I am a full time designer, I sew and sale my items and them machine is great. I bought is mainly for the embroidery, but I use it for sewing as well. So many stitches to choose from. I still need to buy the memory card, but I love it without it.

I couldn't have had a better Walmart experience! The machine was not in stock so we ordered one on line. It was sent to the store. I was leery of making a purchase of my 4th sewing machine, but after I got this one out of the box and started sewing, it "hummed"!What a great value! It does definately have a learning curve to it. Plan to spend a few hours learning how to use it, because it is definately not a machine you can take out of the box and use in 5 minutes like other sewing machines. There is a way to thread the machine that is not "normal", and winding the bobin takes getting used to as well.My friend spent over 1500.00 for her embroidery machine, and this one does everything hers does, except this one is slower to do the designs. I will have to buy extra items like a larger hoop, and a thing called "PED" to download from the internet, but only IF I want to. The machine comes with built in stitches and 70 designs. Today I monogramed all my washcloths! I see so many crafting gifts and ideas with this machine, that I can hardly get to sleep at night. Thanks to my husband, I am having more fun with this than I did with Barbie as a kid! Excellent purchase.

Received machine via ups delivery in 1 day. Machine was in good shape and the instruction book very thorough. My wife has been sewing clothes since we received it and just loves it. she has not had chance to use embrodery function, but I am sure it will work just fine. Load cartridge and it automatically threads needle. Wish I had one for my self. Maybe when my white quilting machine dies.
