go with the ti-89 instead, 10/30/2009

this thing is supposed to be the top of the line product for texas instrument and to some all calculator manufacturers but i found the keyboard to be a rather annowing layout with only one delete button located on the regular keyboard, which i never really use, this thing is designed to use both keyboards simultaneously which is a rather difficult endeaver considering the layout, the keypad needs to operate completely seperately from the qwerty keyboard such as there needs to be two delete buttons, two second buttons, and a variable key for entering simpler equations into the graphing functions. The ti-89 is deffinately a more productive device with the somewhat classic keyboard layout and just as much functionality in the programs department. Did i mention the ti-89 is significantly cheaper? the best device to go with is the ti-89, its cheaper, does the exact same thing, and doesn't waste keyboard space. sorry about the lengthy review but when i was looking i couldn't find any reviews comparing the ti-89 and the voyage. So here it is in a nutshell the ti-89 does everything the voyage does in a more ergonomical format, limiting you only to having to push 2nd alpha before typing alphebetical values.

Great product. The added software makes this calculator excel over the top. I have used this calculator to help with subjects from statistics to engineering problems. The best calculator on the market.

Forget the TI-89!, 08/03/2009

I am a Mechanical Engineering major and decited to purchase the Voyage 200 for many reasons. First, I needed a calculator that was capable of handling the mathmatics needed for my degree. Second, I wanted something unique that not everybody else had. This calulcator does everything a TI-89 does and then some! There was a learning curve but fortunatly it was minimal. One e-mail to the customer service people at TI and the problem was solved (they were very helpful, as I'm sure they would be with any TI purchase). This calculator puts all others to shame! It fits in your hands better, the "Pretty Print" is amazing and the storage space is a huge bonus! This thing is truly smarter than I am!

Awesome Tool!, 12/19/2007

The Voyage 200 will do everything you need for college and career. It starts off having a flashcard program that you can change to help you study. Then, after checking online for more great tools you can find all sorts of programs to help with calculations, memory, and some games, too. I use mine for the Purdue Engineering program I'm in.
You can save information (and notes) in this thing! ME Pro is a free program that lets you quickly calculate thermal exchanges, centroids, internal/external stresses, impacts, radius of gyration, etc.
I believe this calculator helped me go from B's to A's. I've used it in all of my engineering classes, it does calculus, chemistry, Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, and even calculates interest with accounting software. The manual is small and the calculator itself is user friendly. Once you get the hang of it you'll be retyping your notes and putting it on the calculator through the computer.
Only downside: I wish it had more memory!
