Black & Decker 3-in-1 Waffle Maker & Indoor Grill

We were looking for a waffle maker that had removable plates for easy cleaning. This item fit the bill at a reasonable price. But we were disappointed with how inconsistent the waffles were done - dark one time, not cooked through another. Also, it was difficult to guage how much batter to use without having spillage. Cleanup was also not as easy as expected. The batter stuck in the many grooves and was tough to get out. Overall, too much trouble to use for the benefit of having the waffles. We may have not had the patience to figure it out, since there were many favorable reviews. We took it back.

this was a gift for my daughter-in-law and she loves it. Nice feature to also be able to grill on this waffle maker. Will be used a great deal.

Very pleased with the Black and Decker waffle maker. Excellant outside finish, seems well built. I replaced my other Penncrest waffle maker ( around 29 years old or so) with this one, and so far i haven't been disappointed. Makes excellant waffles, they come right out without sticking. Make sure you follow the directions that come with the maker and you should have no problems. Would definitely recommend this product.

I have been looking a long time - since my Mother's waffle iron stopped working - for a good replacement because I make about 30-40 waffles every other week. I have tried all of them - especially the very expensive ones and this is exactly what I have been looking for.

I love this waffle maker from the moment I purchased it, until they started sticking HORRIBLY. Since I had followed all the procedures as per the manual, I called Black & Decker. The told me that they now recommend that non-stick spray not be used on the plates, only oil applied with a brush or non-aerosol type spray. They did send me brand new plates free of charge, much to their credit. Now that I only use oil, it's working perfectly. I highly recommend this product, minus the manual. By the way, the waffles freeze very well so you don't have to be constantly making a batch. Just a tip!

Cooks very evenly, no cold spots. Was top rated waffle iron according to Cooks Illustrated. I wasted my money on a cheaper brand that did not cook evenly.

My family had a waffle iron like this when I was growing up. This one is very similiar just not quite as well made as the older model, but still very good. I use this waffle iron/sandwich maker all the time. Great product

I purchased this waffle iron to replace a much older one that had worn out. It does make waffles alright but it doesn't seem to have even heat like my old one did. It also seems to be made very light and flimsy unlike my old one.

I have used Black & Decker's 2 in 1 Waffle-Griddle/Grill for over 25 years. My mom had one too while I was growing up.
I am now on my second one which I have had for over ten years. I feel that I am going to need a third one soon, as it gets a lot of usage.
stainless steel hard to keep shiny and new looking without having to polish it alot...
(I do have an original snackmaster, but keep going back to the Black & Decker Waffle-Pancake-griddle, etc. I even had one when I lived in College dorms. Many a time when we knew we missed breakfast its head to my room to make our own waffles, pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon...needless to say small fan, open windows even in window....hehehe)

The only bad part is a feature that I want that it doesn't have. And that is this:
You can't turn it on or off. The little dial goes from low, to high, with a slant just for waffles in between medium and high, no off switch.
Meaning that its on as soon as you plug it in whether or not you have adjusted the temperature.

Please Black & Decker if You make a new one like this, add an on/off button. Saves Electricity and potential fire hazards.
