I couldn't find anything but a round waffle maker before Christmas which I bought for her. She told me that they had used 1 like this before and it took all morning to cook for 2 families. I bought this one to supplement it in use. She was delighted.

Very cheap, flimsy waffle iron

I was so thrilled to receive this in the mail! I had searched forever for a waffle iron with removable plates (I want to be able to wash those suckers). I read the reviews by people who love this thing, so I figured it must be nice. I opened the box and pulled out the cheapest looking appliance I've ever owned (and that includes my $10 toaster!) I was wanting waffles so bad this weekend........guess I'll be visiting Waffle House! I'm returning this thing tomorrow!

I waited months for this product to be in stock as I had my mothers that was 40yrs old and finally wore out. I figured the same one new would be just as good. Boy was I wrong. It's very flimsy. It was not the size represented. I expected a 12 by 12 size. Internet said it was 13 by 14. To me that meant handle to handle and front to back. That would make the grill plates 12 by 12. The plates were only 9 by 9. Much smaller than I wanted. Turns out the box was 13 by 14! I had already gotten rid of my mothers so I was stuck with this one. I'll be watching for a larger one but in the mean time I'm stuck with this. The only good thing I can say is that the waffles tasted pretty good. You had to leave them on longer than the directions otherwise they weren't cooked. They were doughy. Don't buy this product.

I had a Black & Decker waffle iron which burned out after 40 years. It was sturdy, larger, the waffles were evenly cooked & crispy. This Black & Decker is smaller, flimsy, and didn't cook the waffles nearly as well as the prior model of the same waffle iron. I'm really disappointed. I'd be wiling to pay $75 to $100 for a waffle iron like the older model if B&D would consider improving the product.

I really like my griddle its better than the George Foreman grill because it has settings. Low, Med, High. You can cook meat, make melt sandwiches, pancakes or waffles. It has a grease run off for it. Instead of washing the whole thing like a GF grill you just take the cook plates off and wash them and put them back on.

The top gets extremely hot, so hot that if you touch it you would be burned. For the price I don’t think that it is very sturdy. I will say it did make good waffles but the quality of the waffle iron is poor and it makes me wonder how long it will last.

This is our second Black and Decker waffle iron in less than a year! The first worked fine until it didn't! This second one's grids don't even fit properly! Looks lopsided. Seems to work okay but can see the red coils where the grids don't fit! B & D sure doesn't make quality products like they used to! Most disappointing.

I had read a lot of good reviews about this grill/griddle and decided to order it. I was actually purchasing it for the waffle iron as my old one had finally (after 25 years of faithful service) died.
I was really surprised to find that the non stick coating was chipping and scratched out of the box. I cannot attest to the actual performance of the product, as it was returned before use...thus the fair overall rating.

The griddle/waffle iron with reversible grates is a product we've been looking for since the one we got as a wedding gift 50 years age could no longer be repaired. LOVE IT. It is very useful for so many different many meals. Awesome for grilled cheese, stuffed french toast, french toast, heated sandwiches, etc. in that both sides are done at the same time as the centers are getting heating through perfectly; flip grates over and you have perfect waffles, turtle cookies, etc.

We had a waffle maker in the late 1970's that I loved. When it came time to replace it, this one was very similiar. It's not quite as heavy as the old one but works virtually the same. What I really like is the removeable grates that can be washed easily. Also, it makes large enough waffles that it doesn't take very long to be able to feed a family quickly.

the edge border is not high enough, trying to make thick waffle will cause an over spill, they should of made the edge all around higher, so that i can make thick waffles and enjoy them, Even when making thin waffles it takes over 1/2 hour to brown up. used it once as a test, will not use it again. wasted money.

I LOVE my new waffle iron. I had one before and it lasted many years, then I bought a small round one. I would go back to the square iron any day! I love it and can hardly wait to try the sandwich maker. Definitely a great buy and would recommend to anyone looking for a decent waffle iron.

This is a very reasonably priced waffle maker with removable plates. For some reason, that feature is hard to find. It works well, makes good waffles and releases them easily. Have not had any problem with sticking or burning. Wish it were a little heavier and more sturdy, but not a bad value for the money.

This waffle maker is the one I was looking for. The iron plates come out so you can put them in the dishwasher. The waffles turn out evenly and delicious. This waffle iron makes the original waffles and not the big thick belgium waffles. My preference is the original waffle.
