Lid fits very loosely, bangs around as steam is escaping. Water/steam accumulates on the lip, and spits out all over the counter. Recipes in manual take 1 1/2 hours more than stated even cooking on high. Noisy, and makes a mess. Not recommended.

I bought this to make large amounts of chili and soups. The carrying case is very nice, seems very well constructed. The low temp settings seem quite hot for low so adjust your recipes accordingly For the money this unit is a bargain.

I have only had this item a few weeks and already have prefared three meals in it. I can't wait for the cooler months so I can try out the recipes for stews and chili in it. I had a smaller one for 20 yrs and went for the Mega size to feed the family and my son's friends in one POT!!! The lid restraint was an added bonus and the carrying case/cover helps not only to keep the food hot but to keep the cooker parts all together. The cooker heats up fast and stays at a constant temp when using the warm setting. With the slow cooker bags, clean up is easy. A must have item.

I purchased this slow cooker because the smaller one I had was great but there were never any leftovers. My husband is a landscaper who works 10-12 hour days, Im a nurse who works 10 hour days, and we have a 3 year old. So we are always busy and on the go, but still love good food. This slow cooker is wonderful, Ive baked a chicken, cooked the best roast ever, and so much more. Throw everything in, put it on low and come back in 10 hours and dinner is served.

i bought this 4 my mom 4 mothers day and had it shipped 2 her early. she had 2 take a meal 2 my bros baseball team before a game and was concerned because her crock pot was older, small and wasn't convienient 4 travel. she made up a huge pot of sloppy joes in it and was so pleased with how it cooked, kept food warm and the lid fastener with carrying case made it wonderful 2 take on the go. i am ordering 1 4 myself real soon.

What a wonderful helper. I am a busy Mom, always on the go. I sometimes prepare my meal the night before, stick it in the fridge and it's ready to start for that's day dinner. I bought this because I am a mom of 5 children and needed something bigger than what I already had. This is bigger but NOT better. It cooks way too fast for a slow cooker. I enjoy the taste of something that slow cooks for 4-6 hours. Even on low the longest I can cook is about 3-4 before it starts to burn. Also the lid does not fit on snug. It gaps on the sides and you can see steam during cook time. I knew that it only came in white but I really hate the color. My kitchen is cherry wood and Black stove and fridge so I have to hide it so you do not see it when you come into the room. If my husband had not lost my receipt the day after I bought it, I would have taken it back.

I don't know about anyone else but mine tends to heat a bit hotter on one side and on the first use actually burned the pot a little ( so now its a bit discolored in a small section). Once I figured that out I keep the meat from touching the side. Other than that I think it's well worth the money and works great. Everything has come out right in the time I wanted it to

After returning a 8.5 qt. crocpot I bought from another store online (and lost $15 of S&H in the process) because it burned the food on LOW setting, I ordered the Hamilton Beach 7-Qt. Slow Cooker from Walmart since it has free shipping to my local Walmart store. With saving on S&H and the difference in prices, it ended up costing me $20 less than the other crockpot. The Hamilton Beach 7-Qt. Slow Cooker from Walmart works the way it's supposed to work: LOW and HIGH settings are what they are supposed to be. (I haven't used the KEEP WARM yet, but gather it works just as well). I use it every weekend so my family would have food for the whole week - heathy food at that - I just throw some meat and vegetables and seasonings and we have different kinds of vegetable or chicken soup every week. The slow cooker is big enough that we have extra for my dog as well. I love it because it's basically no work. I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier, but it's so convenient that I will use this from now on, at least once a week. I am also happy with Walmart service, for they saved me S&H, which I paid $15 at another online store and was not reimbursed when the item was defective and I had to return it. I also like the Hamilton Beach 7-Qt. Slow Cooker so much, I bought another and had it sent as a gift to my brother and sister in law in another state. They are sure using it also as they are very busy people who have to eat still. They don't have a dog but they have 3 kids who don't know how cook, either.

I got this as a birthday gift because I broke my old one. This is my fourth and my absolute favorite! It is so easy to clean up and I love the fact that it has the "Keep warm" setting and the travel case. I have a fairly large family and I can easily cook enough for all of us with leftovers. As a matter of fact, I have never filled it all the way.

This is a great product. The large size is perfect for large families. It is also great to take to pictch-ins with the carring case. The oval shape I think is nicer than the round one I had before. It has Hi, Low and I like the warm feature. The only thing it is missing is a timer. But if you don't need a timer, this is a great buy.
